So, it's been a bit since I posted a status about Chaos Chain.
Fret not, development has continued and progress has been made. It's just been slow...
I recently got very sick and that took a huge toll on the game's development pace. Along with other life and personal obstacles getting in the way, I have fallen a bit behind. I am only now starting to feel better after being sick, but I am trying my best to catch up.
Originally, I wanted to plan on releasing the game around December 15, but I don't think it's entirely possible now. That's only a week away and I just don't have enough actual gameplay content to justify selling the game as a paid product yet.
Even if it is Early Access and considered an Alpha phase of the game (like I've done with all my other games), it's just too early off. I really would like to start getting player feedback and having that level of interaction with my community like I have done for my previous projects, but I feel like it would just hinder me at this point because there is so little to actually do in game that people can't even get an idea of what I'm going for. As an indie dev, I think the game would fall apart before it even got a chance if I were to release it right now as it is.
For those of you who played Waste Walkers when it originally came out, it was bare bones, sloppy, and needed a lot of work. It did however, have enough content to play through for a few hours. Now, I'm working on this project, 7 years later and what I have is pretty solid, but it's just too empty. I don't even know if there is an hour of gameplay yet.
The game functions, is bug free, has a few unlinked quests to do with various outcomes, and the systems are all in place, but there is just not enough actual content. I.E. places to explore, enemies to fight, quests to do, etc. That is what I'm going to focus on over the next several days. If by some miracle I manage to pull it off, somewhere around December 15 is when I'm going to hopefully release it.
I will keep you all updated on how things go over the next few days, but I am trying my best to get the game out there ASAP for you to try out and enjoy!

Chaos Chain - First Look at Slade City!
Hey everyone!
I know it's been a bit since the last post about Chaos Chain, but I can assure you that I've been hard at work on getting it ready.
I have just completed (99% done - may add a few more finishing touches) the first city sector and wanted to show it off. It is not 100% finalized, but it's pretty much there. Keep in mind this version does not have any people or events present yet - it is purely the map itself. It is at this time unnamed but I am open to suggestions!
This is just one of the several sectors planned for the game, but as you can see, it has a lot of detail and places of interest. This particular area is a poor part of the city and considered to be slums except for a few places within.
Here is a shot of the map rendered in game with the PC present.
If you'd like to help come up with a name for this area, feel free to post your ideas below!

10/28/21 FREE Signature Skill Update 2.3.2
Lawless Lands,
Greetings, lawless legends!
The battlefield can be a scary place, but planning and teamwork can prevail!
This update brings a signature skill for each and every companion (named) in the game AND expansion! It also makes animal companions significantly stronger by adding new skills to their lists and allows them to reach level 20 instead of only 15! Druids and animal lovers - your calls have been heard!
The signature skills count as techniques and are free from the moment you get the character, but have a high cost in action points so they can only be used from time to time. They do not however, require durability - even the weapon related skills.
This means you could theoretically use Kezyrek's "Overwhelm" ability to attack 4 times in a single turn and not damage your axe!
