Follow up to Goya patch

Hey guys! There were a few minor patches post the Goya update. They were mostly bug fixes, including the change of the room that goes pitch black - now you should be able to see a bit more, or the endless trip down by an elevator.

Just wanted to let you know what's happening :) Enjoy the game, cheers! :)

Goya Patch – November 30th 2015

Hey guys! Sorry for the late update! Here is the log for today's patch:

- We have added new rooms and remodelled some of the old ones, nearing up to almost 20 completely new room experiences you can encounter. Those rooms should now work as a breather and slow down the pacing of the game a bit.
[edit] to clarify, all of the levels added are in the part of the game that has been previously available to you. The rest of the story, containing the ending, will be added in the official release of the game.

- New findable objects have been added, as well as some of the older ones have been redesigned.

- German and French languages have been added (subtitles, UI). They are the work of our fans, who supported us in the development process. Big up for them!

- Small localization corrections.

- Game Menu fixes – minor aesthetic and graphical adjustments; Navigation problems while using a game pad have now been fixed.

- We have changed the mouse cursor in-game – it should also now disappear correctly while looking at findable objects.

- Fixed the issue when inverting axis’ made opening object illogical (you had to push to actually pull, etc.)

- You can now disable gamepad acceleration.

Halloween Event Contest Winners!

Hey guys,

sorry for the very late announcement, but we have finally checked all the ins and outs of our little event that went a bit south.

- Grecia

You will now be immortalized in Layers of Fear!

We have already reached out to you via email with further instructions.

For the rest of our fans I would like to say thank you for participating, we hope you have enjoyed (are still enjoying) the event.
You guys all rock!

Best

The last chance

Hey guys!

The Steam Halloween Sale will be the last chance for you to get Layers of Fear at a discounted price! For the rest of the year we will focus on adding content to the game, and as we have stated in our Early Access notes the price will go up with those updates.

There are a few more hours left until the end of the sale, so if you were unsure whether to buy the game now this might be your best argument to do so. :)

Just giving you a friendly heads-up.

Some ghosts didn't take our jokes lightly

Hey guys!

We had some huge technical problems yesterday. First the update was buggy, then the Halloween email has bounced back a lot of you.
We are extremely sorry for that.

The update fix has been implemented quite fast and hopefully it wasn’t such a problem for you. The email issue however has made a much bigger impact.

We have received your emails. We have three people chosen for the prize, however, the emails came our way quite chaotically, sometimes they just bounced only as IP numbers that couldn’t reach us. We have checked a lot of stuff to be sure that the said three people are really the ones who should earn the prize, but to be 100% sure, we would ask you to forward the automatic reply you have received from our mailbox once again to Halloween@layersoffear.com. This will give us the last confirmation we need. If you guys think you were among the first to send the code, please reach out to us.

Sorry it transpired this way, sadly technology likes to mess up with people and yesterday it did that to us.

We hope you had fun searching for the keywords and enjoyed looking at what they did with your surroundings.

Also, Layers of Fear has a 25% discount starting from today :)

Best Regards
Bloober Team

Halloween patch – October 28th 2015

- A new room connected to Halloween has been added. You can enter it from the basement in the first level of the game (the complete house). The first three people who will find all of the unique effects connected with the key words will find their way into the game, as their own portraits that will be added to Layers of Fear.

[!] It is advised to complete the game before going to the event’s room.

- New languages have been added:
• Polish
• Italian

- New graphical options have been added – texture quality, shadows quality, mirror reflections, chromatic abberation.

- Fixed some issues with key / button binding.

- Minor bug fixes and tweaks to the levels.

van Eyck Patch - 30-09-2015

Hey guys! Last week update is now live! ;)

Sorry for the delay, here are the patch notes:

[New OS support]

This moment has been awaited by many! You will now be able to play on:

Steam OS
Mac OS X

Be warned! The game is not yet fully optimized for these systems! You will need at least:

Mac:
Mac Pro (Mid 2012):
3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, ATI Radeon HD 5770 with 1GB GDDR5 memory, 6GB RAM.

Steam OS:
Intel Core i5 3470, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB

[!] The game has not been tested on other Linux distributions and it is highly possible it won’t work for now!

[Gamepad support]

There were a few issues with playing on gamepads, but now everything should work fine. Supported controllers are as follows:

- Windows 7 – Xbox 360 Pad, Xbox One Pad, PS4 Pad
- Windows 8 – Xbox 360 Pad, Xbox One Pad, PS4 Pad
- Windows 10 – Xbox 360 Pad, Xbox One Pad, PS4 Pad
- Mac OS – Xbox 360 Pad, PS4 Pad
- Steam OS – Xbox 360 Pad, PS4 Pad

[!] Known issue – on Mac and Steam OS there is still a bug - when you unplug the gamepad while the game is still running, and plug it in again, it won’t work as intended. Please refrain from unplugging the gamepad during your playthroughs for now.

[Saves]

We have added three user profiles, each with their own save game slot.
We have added the support of Steam Cloud.

[Other]

Minor visual GUI changes
Minor level fixes

To avoid further questions regarding content updates:
Yes, we are constantly working on them, but we prefer to make a bigger batch, than add a level with each update (it wouldn’t validate another playthrough in our opinion). Wait patiently and you will be rewarded!

Cheers!

Ooops... something went wrong.

Hey guys!

At the start of this week we promised you a new update due today, that will not only fix some bugs, but will also add save slots. You have been asking for this functionality for a long time, and we agree that it’s very important, and should be implemented immediately.

As much as it makes us sad, we’re unable to keep this promise. We encountered some technical issues that we need to address. It’s extremely important for us that we retain the highest quality of our game. That’s why we’ve decided to delay this update. We hope it will go live at the end of next week (bearing surprises!)

We’re very sorry that we have to make you wait longer. Thank you for your continuous support!
