Remember we told you about our new game — an automation roguelite? Well… it’s going great. Like, really great. The closed playtest is happening right now.
So what’s inside the playtest?
The current build has finally grown into something truly complex and properly automation-heavy — exactly how we like it. And at this stage, when we’re making key decisions about what the Steam version will ultimately look like, player feedback is extremely — and we mean EXTREMELY — important to us. So please, sign up for the closed playtest.
Everyone who joins the closed playtest and sends us a full playthrough video with commentary will get a mention in the credits and some in-game goodies when the game launches. Yes, eternal glory. Or at least digital immortality.
As you know, our team has always tried to make games about science. Well, we think about science even when we’re not working. Just imagine — our team found sea lions in Cyprus.
Isn’t that a contribution to biology? =)
It’s been a while since we shared what’s going on with us — and actually, quite a lot is happening behind the scenes.
First of all, we’re still working. From the office. No matter what. 💪
Second, we’re deep into developing SuperWEIRD and actively playtesting it in the browser. And oh boy — you’ve sent us a lot of comments and feedback. We’re carefully digging through all of it now.
If you’d like the full story, check out our latest devlogs. We answer the most frequently asked questions there and explain how we work with feedback in general:
Feedback has always been important to our studio. We’ve tried to stay close to players on Steam, Discord, and across social media. But with this project, we decided to go even further. It basically turned into full-on data-driven development — constant playtests, constant feedback loops, constant iteration.
It was our first time working like this, and honestly… what an experience! At one point, we stretched a single version to 9 weeks instead of the planned 2, just because we couldn’t hit the metrics we needed in playtests. Imagine that!
But thankfully, the era of large-scale quantitative playtests is behind us — and qualitative ones are kicking off in just a few days. On March 9th, we’re hosting a new closed playtest. Want to join? Fill out the form here:
Oh, and by the way — look what we’ve drawn. Quick question: can you tell what these things do just by looking at them? Let us know in the comments!
Want more machine learning for the Machine Learning God?
We haven’t posted anything here in a while, and you’re probably dying to know what we’ve been up to. So let us tell you! Remember that SuperWEIRD project — an automation roguelite where you assemble the world from pieces and also build towers to defend your base?
As for the latest news, we’re currently polishing the game’s balance and fleshing out the narrative — but most importantly, we’ve improved the look of the locations. Just look at those gorgeous plants!
Do these 2.5D plants extending beyond the top edge of the screen remind you of anything? We’ll give you a hint about our inspiration.
And now, we’re full speed ahead toward launching a free Steam playtest for SuperWEIRD! A lot of you have been asking how a roguelite, automation, and Tpwer Defence can even work together. Well, we think it’s easier to show than to tell — so sign up for the playtest and don’t forget to wishlist the game.

Animal Fest 2025: Meet the Furry Bosses
Hey friends!
Learning Factory isn’t just about automation — it’s also about cats. And that’s no coincidence!
Here at Luden.io, we really love animals… especially cats (too much). So this year we’re joining Animal Fest — and using the occasion to show off some of our team’s beloved pets!
But first, some news
To celebrate Animal Fest, Learning Factory and its DLCs are on sale:
And now, the main event — meet our favorite little coworkers, the ones for whom we go to work and live for.. the ones who inspire us to make cool games about them:
Pet #1: standing watch over the developer
Pet #2: currently studying the developer
Pet #3: guarding the developer’s PC
Pet #4: silently judging everyone (except the developer)
Pet #5: she’s in her safe space, please do not disturb
And speaking of new things from Luden.io — as some of you already know, we’re working full speed on our new co-op automation game!
Recently, while designing the world map, we thought: wait… what if the planet itself was built from Tetris-like pieces?
Join the playtest
If that sounds fun (for us it certainly does), you can sign up for the playtest on the game’s page! We’ll soon update the trailer and screenshots — can’t wait to hear your feedback on Discord and during playtests.

Happy Programmer's Day!
Hey friends!
The 256th day of the year is also known as Programmer's Day! That's today.
A huge kudos to all the knights of ones and zeroes, present-day, former, and wannabes alike! Without you, there would be no video games!
If coding at work is not enough for you (we get it) - did you know that there's a dedicated page on Steam's programming games? Check it out:
Last but not least, here's one for those who fuel our programming power by providing an endless amount of internet memes - the cats! The furry muses of Luden.io say hi:
Happy coding, everyone!
The Automation Fest Is SuperWEIRD!!!
Hey everyone!
At last, we have lived up to the day, where automation games have their own event on Steam!
It is all good news for you, and us, and the whole world!
But there is more good news! Super good news, in fact. Or should we say SuperWEIRD news?
Anyway, horrible puns apart, we're making a new co-op automation adventure game, and it has a Steam page, and you're very welcome to add it to your wishlist today:
We even have a teaser trailer, that's how devoted we are:
For any further questions, find us in the comments and/or on our Discord server.
Some More Good News & Updates From the Devs
Hey everyone!
We hope that you're having a great Summer Sale, and your Steam library is full of awesome new games (again).
As for us, we've got some exciting news of our own! For one, while True: learn() is expected to become a part of exposition in a hi-tech museum in Antwerpen (that's in Belgium)
Craftomation 101, in turn, is getting a lift-up in the UI/UX department: we've hired professional designer to make the game shine, and she's doing an awesome job:
The next update for that game is just around the corner!
As for Learning Factory, it now comes with a controller support, which kind of makes it one of the friendliest factory-building games out there:
Last but not least: have you heard of our new games? One of them is called SuperWEIRD. It's a tower defense adventure with automation and some resource management, and it looks exacly as the name suggests:
So many games, huh? Are we allowed to wear game publisher hats now? Just kidding, we're still keeping things simple, with all games being done by less than 20 people. So we're still your friendly neighborhood indie devs, who will do their best to bring you tons of fun!
We'll get back to it now. Until we meet again!
P.S. We're also doing tons of videos on our YouTube channel these days, so there's no reason to not subscribe for it. See you there!
