The average time between hacker attacks on any computer with internet access is 39 seconds.
In a study by the University of Maryland, 2,244 attempts to breach into a single computer were made in one day.
These attacks aren't targeted.
These attacks aren't manual.
They're automated and seek out unsecured computers.
In 2015, recognizing a data breach took companies an average of 6 months.
If your data is acquired, it's not immediately used It's usually flagged as promising for future use or not. You can be a victim of hacking and not realize it for a long time.
Consequences can be felt years after the incident.
And that's why we consider Liberated to be a fairly grounded game. Every day, there's less and less fiction in science-fiction.
Did you hear? They say these freedom fighters, the Liberated, are going to show up at PAX East in Boston. If you happen to be there between February 27 and March 1, seek them out.
We hear something big is coming. They're gonna reveal the previously unseen Chapter 2 of the game. You'll get a chance to play as the police, can you believe it? See the world through their eyes, understand them a bit better. Be the brass knuckles of the system, that sounds fun, right? Gotta check it out.
Follow these instructions to meet up with the Liberated:
Be in Boston between Feb 27 and Mar 1.
Find the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
Get inside and search for Indie Games Polska, Booth #24701.
7 Insurgent Things To Do In Liberated (As Seen On IGN)
The new gameplay footage we shared on IGN shed some light on the true nature of the Liberated’s insurgent activities. Here’s what you can expect when you join the fight, but remember: once you oppose the system, there will be no going back…
1. Pop the red pill Getting recruited is a Neo moment (you know, from The Matrix): suddenly, everything around you changes, or at least your perspective does. You peek behind the veil of mainstream reality and discover truths that you are not ready for.
2. Be on the run There’s surveillance everywhere, and the advanced facial recognition system can make you a target in an instant. The Liberated expect to be hunted, so get ready for high-speed getaways, rooftop chases, marshland pursuits, and more.
3. Make new friends The Liberated may seem like an odd bunch, but they’re just ordinary people who can’t stand around with their arms crossed when the world is plunging into madness. Dialogue choices will give you a chance to add a bit of your honest emotions into your interactions with them.
4. Infiltrate government facilities It’s all about getting where you’re not supposed to. Once you’re there, you will things that would get your a capital punishment if you were captured.
5. Get sneaky Shadow is your friend, and patience can take you a long way. Hide, wait for an unexpecting enemy to approach, and... Now there's one less enemy to worry about.
6. Lock and load When things get out of control, or if you just like to go in guns-blazing, hold your breath, aim steadily, and go for a headshot. And remember: you’re doing this for the cause.
7. Expect the unexpected Being an insurgent isn’t exactly something you can calculate and predict, so always be prepared for a surprise. You never know when you’re going to have to hack into a federal database or attend a secret meeting. So, are you ready to join the cause?
Never-before-seen Liberated footage? Here, we gooo!
Head over to IGN right now and see what we've been working on these past few months — new story, writing, animations, and... well, we ain't gonna spoil it all.
PS. Liberated on IGN, holy shit, right?! Step into comments and let us know what you think!
Hello everybody! So we're a few weeks into 2020. In just a couple of months Liberated will be out, so everyone is hard at work on the finishing touches... and some pretty big changes.
Here’s what we’ve been up to this month...
Marek, our Creative Director, and Konrad (that’s me) had a really good chat with NintendoLife. In the interview, we talk about how Liberated got started, inspirations, challenges, and a lot more. It actually turned out pretty insightful, so check it out here.
As for the game development itself, the final stretch is busy and exciting! We’re doing a lot of playtesting, already two rounds in with more to come. It’s been ridiculously insightful, and we’re making changes and tackling feedback as it comes up.
We’ve actually made tweaks and changes across the board: gameplay, sound, and writing have all been updated!
We’ve implemented tweaks to aiming physics, fixes, and all kinds of improvements to player animations. So altogether the gameplay feels much smoother now — it’s little things, technically, but they mean so much!
We’re doing a complete audio overhaul, too: updating sound effects, music, and behind-the-scenes performance updates — that last part is especially crucial for the Nintendo Switch version.
And I think the most noticeable change is the all-new writing. We recently brought Chris on board, an experienced editor who’s worked on projects like Frostpunk, Beat Cop, and Wanderlust Travel Stories. We ended up rewriting Every. Single. Line. of dialogue throughout the whole game — aiming for more distinct characters, better dynamics, and that noir comic book feels.
Liberated is still the same game, but we hope it’s a much better one since the last time we showed it off in public. We’re heading to PAX East soon, and damn excited to start showing off what’s new. Keep in touch on Facebook and Twitter, our New Year's resolution is to share more shenanigans!
We really want to know what you think as well: what are YOU most hyped about in Liberated? And what are most concerned about? Let’s chat in the comments!
So what’s your year been like? Ours has been extremely special — it’s the year we unveiled our project after all. And we’ve since done a ton of new things, met a bunch of great people, and showed off the game in many different ways and places.
As a small Thank You for being with us this year, we’ve prepared a delightful set of Wallpapers courtesy of our talented art team. They’re really cool, get them here:
We took Liberated around the world — PAX East in Boston, PAX West in Seattle, IndieCade in Santa Monica, Pixel Heaven in Warsaw, Gamescom in Cologne, Nordic Game in Malmö and even Tokyo Game Show! That’s so many places, so many people, and so much invaluable feedback!
We made friends, and picked up awards, along the way. Liberated has received over a dozen awards and nominations for art, story, and general innovation and we couldn’t be more proud of our team’s work! We’ve also been covered by the folks at Polygon, TechRaptor, The Sixth Axis, Nintendo Life, Destructoid, Gamespot, and tons more.
Just recently, Nintendo featured Liberated in their #IndieWorld Showcase! It’s a huge deal, and you can check out the Nintendo Switch gameplay trailer right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYxbZG3_M2U On top of all that we’ve been doing a lot of playtesting of our own, and we’ve got big plans for the final stretch of development in 2020 to make both our cyberpunk-noir story, and the action-adventure game, shine. But more on that in the coming months… for now, Happy New Year from the Liberated Team!
Liberated featured in Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase
Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase has just featured Liberated among its hand-picked, gloriously innovative indie titles coming to Nintendo Switch!
Liberated is a groundbreaking new vision for the future of digital comics. Seamlessly merging the art of hand-drawn graphic novels with interactivity and side-scrolling action, this is an action-adventure game that unfolds across the pages of a comic book.
Liberated asks difficult questions about modern issues. Government surveillance, state-driven misinformation, fake news, and weaponized personal data paint the world in shades of gray. Knowing which battles are worth fighting, and where to draw the line between revolution and terrorism, has never been more paramount.
Liberated with Famitsu indie prize nomination at TGS!
We’re at Tokyo Game Show 2019 with Liberated and we couldn’t dream of a bigger interest in our game from press and visitors! Japan really seems to like it!
If you’re around here at TGS showcase floor, be sure to visit our booth, where Liberated is available to play for the show's guests, alongside our sister game Wanderlust Travel Stories, also supported by Walkabout.
If you can’t make it though - be sure to watch our livestream, that’s happening right here on Steam!
