Lifeslide

September Update is Out!

Lifeslide September Update is Live!

Thank you for playing this weird little game! It means a lot to us.
Our team has been working hard to improve the Lifeslide experience and patch any holes in the hull along the way. Now, without further ado, let's dig into what's new:

Player Ghosts

[previewyoutube="1S3EYUBbvAI;rightthumb"]
We are working to expand and improve the weekly challenges. This is why you can now see the players above you in the leaderboards right next to you while flying. There is a setting for how many player ghosts you like to see inside the options menu. Player ghosts can also be turned off from the options menu. Check out this video to see how this looks in-game.

Save File Management

One of the more common questions we've been getting in our community is how to delete save files. Worry not, we got you! You can now create up to three save files and delete existing ones. Find the Manage Saves screen in Options/Game/Manage Saves

Flight Stick & Generic Controller Support

We have added support for flight sticks and generic controllers. Lifeslide is now playable with HOTAS controllers, racing wheels (yes, not recommended) and generic controllers. For some specific generic controllers, the UI might not be navigatable but the input can be set up in the Bindings screen of the controls options.

Reset Tutorials Button

If you need to reset the tutorials but don't want to start a new game, you can now do that in Options/Game/Reset Tutorials

Bulgarian Localization

We're a Bulgarian studio so we've added Bulgarian language to the game and Steam store page. Наздраве!

Smaller Fixes and Tweaks

  • Game start screen added right after the intro
  • UI is now more responsive and can be navigated faster
  • Fixed issues with missing Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean font glyphs
  • Better camera behavior when flying close to ceilings
  • Better countdown and launch sequence for the weekly challenges
  • Plane selection for weekly challenges now shows the player rank for each plane
  • Added burning sounds when the player is... well, burning
  • Various small tweaks and fixes in the UI and UX

What's next?

This is it for the September update but we're working on more features and content for October. Halloween is upon us and we're preparing something quite special. You can expect more level content and more skins.

We do our best to address all issues mentioned on Discord and in the Steam discussions.

Lifeslide September BETA is Out

Hello everyone and thank you for an exciting August!

It has been exactly a month since Lifeslide was released here on Steam. During that time we have been working on new content and features because we want to keep expanding and improving the Lifeslide experience.

Lifeslide September BETA is Out

Content updates are coming soon but until then we would like to introduce some new features in the game. The feature in question is player ghosts in the weekly challenges. You will now be able to see how other players have played through the challenge.

The feature is still experimental and so we're looking to gather some feedback as well as stress test it. For those of you who would like to help testing this, we would really appreciate it if you jumped on the BETA branch and played some weekly challenges.

Other changes in the BETA branch so far:

  • Better countdown and launch sequence for the challenges
  • Better camera behavior when flying close to ceilings
  • The UI and navigation is now more responsive to allow for faster retries
  • Improved point collection effect to give a better understanding of where the points are coming from

More coming soon!

How to get Lifeslide BETA?

Gamescom Event Stream

Hello everyone!

We are very excited for Lifeslide to be part of this year's Gamescom!

Join us for a developer stream tonight and see how much challenge a "harmless little paper plane game" has to offer.

Week 3 Challenge Level Fixes

- We fixed the problem with the generation of the Week 3 challenge.

Day 1 Patch

Okay, yes, more like day 3 patch but better late than never, right? Oh, no, "Never" is not something you'll get in regards to Lifeslide update - that's a promise!

First of all, thank you all so much for the amazing feedback and support throughout the launch days! Our team is humbled by the positive reception and we want to keep delivering new things to keep everyone smile!

Change log

Throughout the launch, we spotted a bunch of issues that we wanted to fix right away and so here we go:

Fixed unloading sky textures

We're so sorry to let this slip upon release. This glitch was caused by looping through the entire game or going to the main menu and returning to the game. It was not game breaking but it was very ugly. The sky is now here to stay!

Fixed the In Love achievement

The In Love achievement rewards you for passing the "Loving" level without collecting a single Integrity or Matter gem. Or at least it was supposed to. We found out that the achievement was being rewarded to everyone regardless. This is now fixed and now you gotta work for it!

Fixed Zen Crash

There was a critical issue with one of the levels in Zen mode where it caused the entire game mode to stop working. We have patched it. Zen is now stable!

Small fixes

  • Fixed the description of one of the plane's skins
  • Fixed some spawn points on Story that were sketchy
  • Fixed plane selection rendering the paper planes gray-ish
  • Fixed some animations in the "Creating" level. Giant falling blocks from the sky are no joke!
  • Tweaked the mountain ridge before the ending so that it doesn't cause halts
  • Reduced the long delay after the ending sequence
  • Fixed a graphical glitch where a black thing was flashing on screen every once in a while

Well, that's it for now.

What's next?

We are in dire need of a break and will take this week off to regenerate. We'll be keeping an eye on the community during the break.

After that, well, we have plans for some CONTENT AND FEATURE UDPATES! Yes, new level content, more plane appearances, new music, UI/UX improvements and more is coming in about a month and a half! Stay tuned for this!

And after that?

Did you know we have multiplayer racing in the works? Yes! If the game does well, we will be able to further develop it:
MULTIPLAYER FOOTAGE

Lifeslide is OUT NOW!

After five years of development it's finally done! Wow, I can't express how excited we are to be releasing Lifeslide for the amazing Steam community! We've come a long way and we know this is just the beginning!

To celebrate, we made a brand new trailer, check it out:
[previewyoutube="yhxNxdsTDJ0;full"]

Over the last few months we got a lot of feedback and worked hard to improve, extend and polish the experience. We addressed issues with performance, game content, balance and feel. In overall we are very happy with the final result and hope that you will enjoy it as well!

Last night was tough. Our team stayed up late making sure the final build is as good as possible but we pulled through and today you have 28 unique levels in story mode at your disposal. Also, a procedural Zen mode and for those who like a good competition - weekly challenges!

Throughout the game, you will unlock 8 paper planes with different styles of flight as well as unlock paper plane appearances.

Well that's it from us... for this post! As I said, we're just getting started so if you want to join the community and help build this game further, don't hesitate to join the Steam discussions and our Discord server: https://discord.gg/bkYDq8v

Also, stay tuned for the soundtrack release soon!

Wishing you an exciting flight.

Lots of love,

The Dreamteck Team!

What the Steam Release of Lifeslide Brings to the Table

Lifeslide started as an Apple Arcade exclusive and is now slowly making its way to Steam. Our team is driven to make the most out of this transition by adding new content, improving gameplay and feel and redesigning existing levels.

Release Announcement and Demo

Lifeslide is coming to Steam this summer, August 6th. We released a demo with the start of E3 for everyone eager to get their hands on the experience early. Demo is available to download on the game's page.

What's Remastered?

A lot! We remade entire levels from scratch with fresh level design and new level art. Experience more exciting moments, an improved difficulty curve and better pacing. Check out how some levels have been recreated at the bottom of the post.

New places, pathways, challenges and things to discover!

New paper planes to unlock!

Different appearances!

You didn't hear this from us but yes, we are also working on skins and hope to make it for the release day.

Weekly challenges!

We are introducing a new game mode. Weekly challenges with leaderboards. Fly as close to objects and surfaces as fast as possible and earn points.

Refined controls

Controls have been refined and the entire physical experience has been tweaked. Use keyboard, mouse or take advantage of the full controller support.

You will get to fly two paper planes through 6 of the upcoming 28 levels and also make some improvements to get a sense of the game loop.

We'd love to hear your thoughts and gather feedback from you in the game's forums or the Discord Community so don't hesitate to join in on the conversation. There is still time to improve as the game is in active development and we're listening!

We will be broadcasting live on the game's page during E3 so stay tuned!
