You can see him in action here:

Additionally, there are now help signs that provide in-game info and guidance.

Thanks to everyone who provided feedback. For anyone interested, in a week or so, I'm going to go over how I made the Slime Monster in Unreal.

Update 1.1.1

Just a small update.

Fixed Oculus Rift height in menu area
Fixed Controllers not showing up until a button is pressed
Fixed issue with transportation tubes on level 7

Bug fixes incoming and removal of the demo

Hello everyone,

I hope you're enjoying the update. In the next few days you'll see another update come through that will fix some issue identified in this update. Namely, the camera height on Oculus Rift in the main menu, and some issues with the transportation pipe in level 7.

Also, I'll be removing the demo from the Steam page and will no longer be supporting updates for it. It was really useful to get feedback, but the first two levels are not representative of the game as a whole. I'm concerned that people may try the demo and feel the game is too easy when the first two levels are more so meant to teach the player the main game play mechanics.

Lastly, I'll be doing a minor price review of the game based off some feedback.

Thank you for your support and please post in discussions if you have any feedback.

Early Access Update 1.1.0

It took a bit longer than anticipated, but update 1.1.0 has been released for the full version as well as the demo.

Here’s a summary of some of the updates.

- Level 9 out of 30 is complete
- Nvidia Flex Flud implementation
- Oculus Rift Support
- Improved lighting and optimization
- Revamped menu UI with settings
- Spectator camera and player avatar
- To activate, press M and control it with the mouse and keyboard.
- WSAD to move and Q,E to go up and down.

The next few days will be continued play testing, bug fixing and refining. After that is complete, I’m going to do a pass through of all the levels and redo some things that can be done better. Then it's on to level 10 and Chapter 2!

As Little Einar is in open development, there are bound to be bugs I don’t have recorded. If you have feedback or questions please submit them through the community hub.

Thank you for your continued support.

Update 1.0.4 - Level 8

This full version update contains level 8 as well as a few bug fixes.
  • Little Einar no longer rotates when being controlled in mid-air.
  • The jumping audio only sounds when Little Einar can actually perform a jump.
    • Previously the audio would sound as long as the jump button was pressed.
  • Level 7 is balanced and a few difficult parts were removed.

Thank you for your support.

Touching base

Good afternoon,

This is a small update to let you know that The first 10 levels of Little Einar should be complete at the end of February.

We are hard at work wrapping up level 8 and completing design on the first boss level (level 10).

As a reminder, the road map is as follows,

Release 10 levels, then go back and clean up the existing levels, e.g. align textures, optimize lighting, etc.

After that, Work will begin on the next 10 levels. When level 20 is reached, we'll work on the last 10.

After we have reached our goal of 30 levels. We'll do a last round of bug fixes and game play enhancements before we leave early access.

As always, please post on the discussion board if you have any feedback.

Thanks.

Update 1.0.3 - Comfort Rotation and Bug Fixes

Hello everyone!

This update contains a minor quality of life improvement for those who prefer a stationary/seated experience or those who don't like tangled cords.

Comfort rotation can be activated by using the grip buttons on the motion controllers or the bumper buttons on a game pad.

Additionally minor design bugs that affected gameplay on level 3 and level 5 were resolved.

Both the full version and the demo of the game have been updated.

Enjoy!
