Little Walker

Smoothness Update

I've rebuilt the game with an updated version of the engine used to make it. Confusing? Doesn't matter. Lil' Walker now walks as smooth as butter and that's all you need to know.

Thanks guys, toodles~

Offering replacement keys if accidentally revoked

Recently I was duped by a fake russian bundle site and had to revoke a bunch of keys that I sent them after discovering that they were no-good. These keys WERE unused before sending them to the scammers. Some of them were leftover keys from IndieGala, which I checked after IndieGala returned them to me to make sure that they were unused.

I'm not sure how, but someone has come forth saying I'm the scammer for revoking his keys on his alt accounts. He has over 7000 games, and I doubt he even ever played Little Walker. He seems to be a trading card farmer. I don't understand this generation, I'm old.

ANYWAY, what I really want to say is that I am deeply sorry if I made a mistake and revoked the keys of humble and kind individuals out there. Please contact me with a pic of your indiegala info from the purchase and if you could, a pic that shows you no longer have Little Walker on Steam. blakefix@gmail.com

Leaderboard Update

Remember when I said the last update would be the last update? JK, Now there's a global leaderboard for fastest time from the start of the game to the end.

If you use level select to start at waffle valley you don't need to start a new game to activate a valid run. Level warps and skips are valid, and that's pretty much all there is to it!

I also added a button on the slide down menu for toggling the dropshadow shader, hopefully improved controller recognition, improved UI look, and fixed more sneaky bugs while I was at it.

Happy holidays everybody!

Surprise, rando update

The game now recognizes if a controller is plugged in and automagically switches to controller mode. Something I should have done from the start, ha, oopsie daisy.

I also made some superficial changes to the title screen and implemented two lines of code that handle hitting your noggin' against the ceiling if it's a slope to make movement more smooth. wow.

And welp, that's all folks. This is probably the final update. I only did it because I was working on Homegrove and the code I came up with seemed like a good fit for Little Walker as well. Sayonara, have a good one, I'll miss you! Come visit anytime!

~ HomeGrove ~

Discover
a charming yet dangerous world of friendly folk and menacing monsters.

Acquire
new items and abilities, then use them as tools to solve problems, overcome obstacles, and interact with the landscape.

Outsmart
Each new enemy poses a unique challenge with distinct strategies. Enemies won't be defeated with a simple jump or oversized swipe.

Explore
far from the titular home grove, and perhaps, if you want, uncover that there is more to this seemingly happy-go-lucky world than you had originally thought.

A blend of classic mechanics, some rarely seen in a side-scroller; meant to pay homage to greats of the past while accomplishing something they never did.

Other stuff to wet your whistle:
• Customizable controls
• Day/Night cycle
• Waiting for things to grow
• Hu-manz?
• A Flute

Major update - NEW new look (and cam)

Yup yup howdy folks,

I redid all the sprites! Now it's much easier to keep track of the little guy. Not to mention the smooth new camera motion.

...of course there are some small level tweaks here and there as well, I just couldn't help myself...

Saves, Achievements, and a new look

Hey everyone |\ ' v ' |/

First of all I'd like to apologize for achievements not working in the last build. I have since fixed that little problem.

Secondly I'd like to apologize for save file confusion. I posted an announcement with instructions on how to restore missing save files to the correct folder, but I forgot to mention a crucial last step. After moving 'save' and 'A' to the 'saves' folder, you must rename them as "save.arr" and "A.arr".

Lastly some good news! There's a fresh new graphical update that applies to the whole game. (It's a drop shadow like MarioMaker.) ːsteamhappyː

Trading cards, Cloud saves, Demo

Hey all,

There's finally a demo!

Trading cards should also be live, and cloud saves should be
functional. I've only tested the saves myself though, so if there happens to be a problem, let me know (I'm just one guy after all) :Osteve: /

Thank you kindly!

My bad - How to restore your save!

Hi again!

I realized that while working on the cloudsave feature, I changed where the save files normally go. So you may start the game and be horrified to see your data missing, but it should still exist on your hard drive!

Here's what to do:

- Open steam
- Go to Library
- Right click Little Walker and go to Properties at the bottom.
- Click the Local Files tab, then click "Browse Local Files..."
- Cut or Copy the files that say "save" and "A", and simply paste them into the folder titled "saves"

That should do it! Sorry for the inconvenience. ^_^;

New Hard mode, User interface, and improvements!

Hey everybody!

It's update time and there's a challenging new hard mode to test your skills. A new achievement to show proof of your accomplishment as well.

But beyond that I spent a fair bit of time making various improvements!

Probably the most notable would be the fancy new slide-down menu that appears when you hover your mouse near the top of the frame.

Your "spirit bar" is now visible at the top left, and smashing enemies now spawns tokens which fuel your recovery process if you hit 0.

Upon pressing escape it will no longer quit the game, but rather pause the game and give you a list of useful shortcut keys.

Trading Cards should also be up and running in the next couple days as well.

Last but not least I've optimized some things so it should (hopefully) run a little better for some people.

As always, thanks for playing! ːsteamhappyː
