Leaving Early Access!

Hey all, BlueFire here. Its launch time! I wanted to take the time to thank the over 1000 players who played during Early Access and provided feedback, bug reports, reviews, and their time. As a small team it means the world to us that you took a chance on us when we only had a single planet and a grappling hook "finished" and the game was in such a rough state.

We're proud of what we've accomplished in the last 3 years as we've finished 6 planets and revised them hundreds of times. We went from three puzzles to around a hundred puzzles in the game. Salli has evolved from just saying a couple things to feeling like a partner on the journey with you. As of today you'll get some final answers to what happened to the previous crew and reach the conclusion of the journey. Our team has learned a lot through this journey with this being the first game for most team members.

For those new here, Lodestar tells a short story of a crew that went missing during interstellar travel and the trouble they ran into. Its a shorter game(10-20 hours) with puzzles, crafting, and light combat.

From here on out we plan to fix bugs and any significant gameplay issues based on feedback. Keep reporting through the in-game feature and we'll keep crushing bugs. We also plan to add a patch that makes offline play possible to try to allow the game to have the longest shelf life. Feel free to hop on our discord via the store page or in-game menu (Valve doesn't like discord links in these messages). You'll also be the first know about new games and have opportunities to weigh-in on what game we make next.

Thanks again for everyone who gave us a shot and feedback. We look forward to making great new games for you.

FAQ:

Q1: Will my previous saves work?
A1: Yes. As far as we know we've never broken saves since the launch of Early Access. The game has changed significantly so what Salli says to you might be strange at some points but it should work.

Q2: Will you release on other platforms?
A2: Probably not, but with enough success anything is possible.

Q3: Are you going to continue working on the game?
A3: We plan to fix major bugs and gameplay issues but will likely not add any new content. Launch for us represents finishing the game. If the community can generate enough sales we may be able to afford further development.

Q4: I'm press/influencer how can I get in touch?
A4: I am happy to personally assist in any way that I can. Hit me up on discord @bluefiresr

Patch 5.0.57 - Path to Planet 6, Ship Teleporters, and Lore

We'll use this announcement to keep you updated as we approach patch 6.0.0. We want to be able to ship you improvements sooner so patch 6 will include all these notes but this is to help you understand what's changing in the interim. View the previous announcement for full 5.0.0 changes.

Gameplay:

We also plan to keep enriching the game with techniques we've learned. Additionally we're making fast progress on the final planet to wrap up the story in patch 6.0.0. Patch 7.0.0 will be the full launch of the game with us leaving early access in a couple months.

What's next?

We have two more big goals we want to hit before leaving early access with patch 7.0.0. First, we need to create the 6th "planet" which will primarily just be an epic boss fight and potentially a handful of extremely challenging puzzles that may require you to have nearly every unlock to complete. We don't want to focus as much on a large level here so we can put all our effort into final boss fight.

The second goal is to fill the world with more lore and story. This will include a lot more Salli lines and lore files. Additionally you'll see more "flavor" added to the planets that will allow players to infer details about the story that are not explicitly stated. We'd love to hear your thoughts on these additions and theories about the truth of the Lodestar story.

Finally we want to polish all existing systems to reflect the higher quality we are now able to deliver on after multiple years of development. Some of been a little left behind and we want to raise the minimum bar across the board before the full release. We think that the final boss will be released in a couple months with full launch following shortly after we have resolved all bugs. Thanks again for coming on this early access journey with us and as always please let us know your thoughts via reviews and discord!

We may use additional services in the future.
