We hope you’re all doing well! Apologies for the radio silence over the last weeks. We’re just super busy preparing the slopes for the upcoming Snow Riders release. But more news on that on Monday!
Our Season 39 ended yesterday and we want to take a quick moment to celebrate the Top 25 the last two seasons - shame on me for forgetting it the previous month.
We also updated the results of the daily rides in our season ranking sheet!
A few people have asked if the Daily Rides seasons for Downhill will continue next year. And the answer is definitely yes! We will post the season roadmap for 2025 in January.
In other news, we will turn off the multiplayer for the Snow Riders Demo on Monday. So if you are still working on that Level 10 outfit, this weekend will be your last chance!
You can still play the Singleplayer and go for the leaderboard best-times but we have to do some server work before the release.

Celebrating our 5th anniversary and Six Million Players!
Hey Riders,
Lonely Mountains: Downhill turns 5 years old today and today we also crossed 6 million players on the leaderboards! Even after 5 years, the game is still alive and kicking and we are tremendously grateful for that.
When we started LMD in the Summer of 2015 it was a hobby mobile game project that we did for fun in our spare time. Not in our wildest dreams would we have imagined that it would find its way into the hands of so many players.
For the last 10 years, Lonely Mountains has been our life and what once started as a 2-person pet project has now grown into a 14-person company. We are incredibly thankful for having the privilege to work every day on something we love (and still be able to pay our bills).
We are looking forward to the next 5 years with you and as always wish you a great ride on the Lonely Mountains!

Snow Riders multiplayer demo out now!
Hey Riders
A huge thanks to everyone who tried the teaser demo for Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders already! Your feedback is super helpful and it's good to see our speed-running community already doing the most crazy runs!😀
Today, we launched the full demo for Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders with a huge update that adds the following:
2-8 online multiplayer (racing)
Added a whole new mountain track to explore (single and multiplayer)
Improved physics. We took your feedback to heart and tweaked the physics a little bit. Initial pushing is now stronger, less air resistance at low speeds but stronger resistance at higher speeds and landing sidewards is more forgiving now.
Due to the new balancing, we also cleared the leaderboards because previous records might not be achievable anymore.
Tons of fixes and improvements but most importantly
- The infinite loading screen should be gone
- The crash some people experienced when starting the game should now also be fixed
This is the first time we are testing our online multiplayer, and we are super curios to hear if you like it! This time we are testing the racing mode for up to 8 people but the full version will also have a co-op mode. The team already had the best time testing the racing mode, as going on the slopes with a few friends adds a ton of fun and competitive chaos!
We are likely leaving the demo up for the whole duration of the Steam Fest (until the 21st October) but might remove it afterward again for a while to polish it up. So jump in while it lasts! 🙂

We will be at the IGN Germany gamescom stream on the 24th of August to talk about how the last few years have been for Lonely Mountains: Downhill, and of course also about Snow Riders! The interview will probably go live shortly after noon (CEST time) on the official IGN stream.

Announcing Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders!
Hello Riders!
Since we launched Lonely Mountains: Downhill five years ago, we’ve had lots of questions about what’s coming next. Now we can finally tell you!
The Steam Page is now live, so please check it out for more info and be sure to wishlist! You can also join our discord for more news, including info on our upcoming playtests.
Like Downhill, Snow Riders is all about finding a sense of peace and freedom in beautiful environments while challenging your skills. We’re proud to say this game really captures the “feel” of skiing, whether it be cutting through deep powder snow, skittering across the ice or flying over a death-defying jump.
Maybe the most exciting thing of all, Snow Riders adds a brand new element to the Lonely Mountains universe – multiplayer! The online multiplayer mode can be played with up to 8 people and includes both a versus mode and a more chill collab mode where you share checkpoints and ski down together.
Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is scheduled to launch later this year. We will be back soon with news about the release date, so be sure to watch this space.
