Community Translations 1

We've added the first completed translations to the game, which were fully translated by our amazing community members around the world!

We used, and are still using Crowdin for this, and you can contribute to the translation of the game there! As new content is released, the translations need to be updated at the same time, so even though some languages are "100%" now, they still need constant updates in the future!

- Spanish, Latin America

Special thanks to Discord user and active community member tucker#2003 who helped translate the game to Thai AND also pointed out that our Thai font did not fit the game and donated us a better one!

New Player Save System!

- Finally, the new player save system has been experimental and seems to work perfectly. Please note that saving should start working AFTER PLAYING the first time. There might be still missing progress when logging in the first time after the update
- Fixed a bug where chest stays locked when player logouts when using it
- Fixed a bug where workbench would show as a cooking station when first opened
- Made entering house more reliable even after putting stuff on top of the entrance. Now players should always be able to enter their house
- Applied a fix where turrets were shooting at the house owner
- Item price changes
- New language menu

Please note that saving happens on the server-side so some unofficial servers might not have the latest version.

Friday Devlog #8

Longvinter has been out for a week now and what a week it has been! We've fixed a lot of major and minor issues and I've started to work on new content!

We are amazed at how active you guys have been on Discord, helping people, chatting with each other, giving suggestions, and helping us with the problems we've had! So, thanks for that and let's keep the wheel rolling!

Also, thanks a lot to our Discord mods Artur, SirNugg3ts, Biffot, and daneelr_olivaw! The awesome community we have would not exist the way it does now if it wasn't for you guys. There are also the VIP members that have helped us in different ways on Discord and elsewhere, you know who you are, thanks a lot!

Now, this week we spent our time mostly fixing issues, but in the future, expect to see new upcoming content on these devlogs!

Artur made a new channel on Discord where you can vote on which content addition or change you'd like to see added in the future. I'll keep an eye on the community suggestion channel, and pick new content from there to post for you to vote on as much as I can.

We'll make some content that is not for voting, things we have already decided on, but as I said, I'll use it as much as I can!

Experimental Branch

It's been a week since launch, and it taught us to not push updates on the main branch when there are +400 concurrent players trying to play the game. Us being on Early Access shouldn't be an excuse for an unstable gameplay experience. Going forward, we'll push the latest changes to a public experimental branch, where you can try out the latest content and fixes.

Here's how you can participate:




You can join an official server with "EXPERIMENTAL" in the name, the password is "experimental"

This week's changes worth mentioning



- Players can now shoot when there is flowers or wheat next to them
- Players should no longer get stuck in each other when entering a house at the same time
- Lowered hunting 25 ammo pack price by 25%
- Removed legacy spectate feature
- Player save loading uses a new loading function
- Safe area turrets are now invincible
- Workbench wood progression now saved and should remain the same even after server restart after this update
- Admin Panel improvements
- Fixed a bug where ban required the server to restart before taking effect
- Firepit now gives energy, has smoke
- Fixed a bug where trees could not be destroyed on PVE servers
- Fixed Fishing Hat not showing
- Lowered wood to upgrade tent requirement to 100 from 200
- Day/night cycle is now about 40% slower
- Cannot place anything on top of fishing spots anymore
- Changed the save system to keep track of when saving and not allow players to load in during the save process. This should lessen the number of progress wipes currently
- Major network optimization with 50% less packets sent

Small bug fixes

PSA: The message about server having an outdated build is caused by server provider not yet updating their server. This is makes debugging problems easier.

PVE Servers + Performance Update

Hey there,

we're still fixing problems that were found on launch and will soon start adding more content in! We originally planned to add the PVE server option later on the first content update, but it's quite clear that there are a lot of players that want just PVE so there you go!

If you want to make your server PVE only, add this to your Game.ini:


PVP=false

Here's a list of some of the changes we've made:
- Made massive improvement on network tick rate for chests and houses. This helps populated servers to run more smoothly
- Player-placed Turrets can now only be placed near houses. They will not work when placed near your own tent, needs to be upgraded first
- Turrets that are not near a house will not shoot people anymore
- Made player placed turrets shoot radius 38% smaller
- Turrets now have the same behavior as the team gate. They will not shoot players that have entered the house that the turrets are attached to.
- Previously, only saved placed growing plants but not plants that had fully grown up. This meant basically no saved plants
- Added height limitation to placed items (goodbye space race)
- Disabled item duplication glitch that happens when clicking crafting result too fast
- Fixed a bug where turret could not be placed near your own house due to the adjacent tent or house
- Lowered farming hat drop rate bonus 10%, from 40 -> 30 - Made game loads more reliable by spreading out loads more
- Added PVP config variable to servers. PVP is on by default, but the server owner can turn it off if they want to
- Haddock should be easier to find
- Some bug fixes

More network optimizations and player save interval

- More network optimizations. Bandwith used is now half from the day 1 version
- Added alt + k for manual kill button for people who are stuck under the map
- Hunting vendor can now be accessed correctly in SGT. Lke
- Added player save interval to save player progression on server(previously was only when manually disconnecting)
- Fixed a bug where cloudberry seeds would spawn mezerous

Exploit fixes

- Fixed item duplication, big thanks to @EdenFPS for sending a detailed video
- Fixed exploit where multiple tents could be used to place tents in other players' house area
- Code lock enters now to save on the server so no need to enter a code every time entering someone else's house
- Turrets now do damage correctly
- Black lotus no longer grows in 15 seconds. Thanks @Missing Texture for pointing this out
