February
Anniversary Celebration
February marks the one-year anniversary of Lost Ark launching in the West! We have a few special events planned to celebrate.
Rowen Continent
Rowen is a continent that is located east of Shushire, filled with Sylmael, the crimson jewels that are a precious resource in Arkesia. After a prosperous ancient civilization disappeared, Rowen was forgotten from Arkesia's history. However, when rumors about the abundant crimson jewels covering the land spread, factions coveting the jewels have began mustering their forces in Rowen.
Item Level 1445 is required to begin Rowen's world quest. Strange tensions linger between the factions, and the barbaric nomads assault those who have dared to set foot on their lands. Who will succeed, and who will perish in this war-torn land? Where does the fate of Rowen lie? At the end of the Rowen world quests, a faction can be chosen for open-world PvP. The neutral ground Eliyabeck has lost balance, and now the land is divided into two competing factions: Preigelli and Liebertane.
Preigeli was formed under the belief that the chaos in Rowen was due to its indulgences, and that strict rules are needed in Rowen. They were formed by a group of mercenaries who are good at utilizing machines. "Order defeats Chaos every time."
Libertane was formed under the belief that the chaos in Rowen was due to overly strict rules and restrictions. This group of pirates and mages values freedom and passion. "We have a simple rule. Take as much as you can."
You must choose a side and partake in the war over Rowen. Once a faction is selected, you will enter a PvP mode against the opposing faction. Ranks for the Factions are divided into 15 tiers and can be earned by participating in activities to get Faction XP, such as killing the opposing faction's members and participating in daily, weekly, and co-op quests. In February, the war between Preigelli and Liebertane will begin— but the competition heats up further in March, when the Tulubik Battlefield releases.
March
Tulubik Battlefield
A new type of PvP activity arrives with 96-player (48 v 48) RvR Tulubik Battlefield. With bases to capture, special secondary objectives, not to mention dozens of players to fight on the other team, there’s no shortage of action in the Tulubik Battleground. Matches are held at specified times during the week. There are two types of matches that can occur: Regular Match: consists of 48 players on each side. Friend Match: Held when there are more than 40 players in waiting after the Regular Match’s opening time has ended.
Faction Rank 5 and Item Level 1490 is required to participate in the Tulubik Battlefield, and Faction XP can be earned by all those who answer their faction’s call to action.
General Updates
The next major batch of quality of life updates will arrive in March along with balance changes, new events, and the third Arkpass! We’ll have a lot more specifics on what players can expect closer to the update, so make sure you stay tuned.
April
Artist Advanced Class
The Artist is capable of tactical versatility with illusion powers from her brush, and specializes in supporting her team. With her magical brush and flowing ink, the Artist can either choose to attack foes directly or summon holy beasts by painting them. While the Artist's attack power is on the low side, she is capable of providing strong support to allies, and rescuing them from peril with her illusion powers— making her a welcome member of any party. The Artist’s Class Identity is Moonfall & Sunrise. The Artist can fill the Harmony Meter by landing skills on foes, and when the Meter is full, she can create up to 3 Harmony Orbs. Harmony Orbs can be used to cast Moonfall and Sunrise. Moonfall can strengthen multiple party members immediately with the power of Stroke, and Sunrise, with the power of Paint, can create a Sun Marble which refills a single party member's HP. The Artist is the beginning of an entirely new class category; Specialists, who will have more than one appearance in 2023.
We know there’s been a lot of speculation in the Lost Ark community on how the Artist Class would arrive in the Western version of Lost Ark, and we want to be transparent with players excited for its release. Previously, we’ve stated that there may be some content in the original version of the game that gets adapted for Western audiences. While our goal is to preserve the authenticity of the original game, we also work with Smilegate RPG to make localization updates to ensure the game feels approachable and representative of our Western players. Nothing gameplay-related will change for the Artist Class, but some skins will be modified to better fit Western norms. Specifically, skins with short skirts will have shorts added underneath the skirt, and other skins will have adjusted pant lengths or tights added. We will be working to preserve the original spirit of the skins when applying these changes to ensure players will have a variety of compelling customization options for this uniquely versatile class.
Brelshaza Hard Mode
The Phantom Legion Commander will return in a more challenging version of the 8-player Legion Raid. Hard Mode will increase the difficulty and increase the rewards, introducing the new Ancient quality of gear & accessories. Brelshaza Hard Mode will require Item Level 1540 for gates 1 & 2, 1550 for gates 3 & 4, and 1560 for gates 5 & 6.
Hanumatan Guardian Raid
The Solar Guardian Hanumatan is hallowed in Anikka. The martial artists of Anikka followed Hanumatan's movements to develop a martial art. A powerful force of destruction in the Chain War 500 years ago, Hanumatan has sensed chaos looming in Arkesia and has woken from a long slumber. After spectating the state of the world with dispassionate eyes, he has come to a conclusion: Humans are the enemies endangering Arkesia. Hanumatan must be stopped, before his cold and furious wrath destroys every life form on Arkesia. Challenging Hanumatan in a Guardian Raid will require Item Level 1540, and like Brelshaza Hard Mode, Ancient accessories can be earned by successful parties.
Looking Ahead
We’re excited to witness players experience the unique events, explore new parts of Arkesia, battle in new PvP gamemodes, and prepare for the challenging Brelshaza Hard Mode experience over the coming months. In the meantime, stay tuned to our website, social channels, and the release notes for the full list of new content, store updates, events, bug-fixes, and more over the coming months. Happy holidays and we’ll see you on Festivity Island in Arkesia!

Brelshaza Legion Raid
Face Brelshaza, Commander of the Phantom Legion in an immersive and challenging 8-player Legion Raid spanning 6 unique gates and encounters. The most cunning and ruthless of all the Legion Commanders, she’s known to charm her enemies and inflict them with awful hallucinations. With so many encounters, the Item Level requirements rise every two gates. Here's where your gear will need to be to challenge Phantom Legion Commander Brelshaza:
Phantom Astalgia: Déjà Vu - Item Level 1430
Gates 1 & 2 - Item Level 1490
Gates 3 & 4 - Item Level 1500
Gates 5 & 6 - Item Level 1520
Similar to the “Midnight Circus: Encore” difficulty of the Kakul-Saydon Legion Raid, an easier difficulty is available for players to practice the difficult encounters and mechanics; Phantom Astalgia: Déjà Vu. A special training ground for the Brelshaza Legion Raid will also be opened in Trixion. Phantom Marks will be introduced along with the Legion Raid, along with a new page becoming available at the Legion Raid Exchange NPC where Phantom Marks can be exchanged for rewards.
Summoner Advanced Class
Despite their delicate constitution, Summoners are a force to be reckoned with in any battle. They call forth elemental spirits to fight for them, each with their own special skills to help the Summoner shine in every situation. With a powerful variety of water, lightning, earth, and more unique attacks, the Summoner is a welcome addition to the roster of available Mage Advanced Classes. The Summoner will join the Bard, Sorceress, and Arcanist as the fourth Mage Advanced Class. Learn more about the Summoner’s Class Identity, Skills, and Engravings in the Summoner Lost Ark Academy.
Caliligos Guardian Raid
Caliligos is the master of lightning, commanding blue lightning to bring his enemies to their knees. His wings are as swift as wind, and the power of blue thunderbolts concentrate in his horn, sharper than any spears, to pierce the hearts of his enemies. As a ruler of the skies, he was worshipped in the past as a god. But Caliligos is no god— he’s a cruel ruler of the sky and a ruthless guardian. Caliligos will join the gauntlet of Level 6 Guardians. The Item Level requirement to challenge Caliligos is 1490.
Tier 3 Activity & Progression Updates
New T3 Gear & progression materials have been added. A new Relic gear set can be crafted from materials earned in the Brelshaza Legion Raid. Requirements for crafting the new set: Item Level 1490 and complete the "Kill the Legion Commanders and leave the gear behind" achievement, which requires: Regardless of the set, equip 6 pieces of Demon Beast and Covetous Legion Commander Relic gear at the same time.
The new Relic gear can be honed up to Lv. 20, raising the maximum Item Level from 1575 to 1590. The honing success rate will be different from existing Legion Raid gear.
The new Relic gear has the same set effect as existing Legion Raid Relic gear.
If you gear transfer an existing Legion Raid Relic gear piece into the new Relic gear, the gear quality will also be transferred. If the gear to transfer into has a higher quality, the quality will stay the same. Artisan's Energy, honing XP, and increase in success rate after fail are not transferred. After transfer is complete, the gear that you used will have a honing level of 0.
Added new progression materials that can be used to hone the new Relic gear set:
Obliteration Stone
Protection Stone
Marvelous Honor Leapstone
Superior Oreha Fusion Material
The new progression materials can be earned from the new Void Chaos Dungeons, Caliligos Guardian Raid, Challenge Guardian Raid, Challenge Abyssal Dungeon, Stronghold Crafting and Research, the Brelshaza Legion Raid, and Una’s Quests.
T3 Hall of the Sun (Hard) Boss Rush and T3 Dimension Cube (Hard) both arrive in the Wreck the Hall Update. Both requiring Item Level 1490 for entry, these new difficulties will challenge heroes with a gauntlet of new enemies— but with bigger challenge comes bigger rewards. Added two new South Vern Void Chaos Dungeons. With new progression materials, Bracelets, along with the standard Chaos Dungeon rewards, there’s plenty of rewards for clearing the new Void levels. Item Level requirements:
Void 1 - Item Level 1490
Void 2 - Item Level 1520
General
New Bracelet Accessory
The new Bracelet accessory increases character stats, and has perks, but doesn’t have Engravings slotted into it like other accessories. Bracelets have fixed bonuses and granted bonuses. Fixed bonuses are granted at random when you obtain a bracelet and cannot be changed. Granted bonuses can be added or changed through Bracelet Specialist NPC, who can be found in major cities across Arkesia! Bracelets can be earned from the Brelshaza Legion Raid, Caliligos Guardian Raid, and South Vern’s new Void Chaos dungeon.
Bot Prevention Updates
We know that bots have been causing frustration within the community, and we share in that frustration. As we wage the war on bots infiltrating Arkesia, we’re continuing to try new methods. In this update, we’ve worked together with Smilegate RPG on new prevention measures.
To prevent bots from negatively impacting the player-driven economy, we’ve updated the list of economic and social systems restricted from accounts that haven’t achieved a trusted status in Lost Ark. Previously, untrusted accounts were prevented from accessing economic and social features such as initiating player-to-player trades and sending player mail. With the prevention updates, untrusted accounts will now be restricted from the Auction House, Market, and all player-to-player trading. We’ve banned millions of bot accounts over the past few months, and have additional ban waves planned to purge existing bot accounts.
The path to earn trusted status won’t change, and these updates will only affect newly created accounts after the update. Existing Lost Ark players will not be impacted. New adventurers arriving in Arkesia can earn their trusted status in multiple ways, and can choose the path that’s right for them. The first option is for new players to enable the Steam Guard mobile authenticator, and have a Steam profile that’s no longer a ‘Limited User’ account. This is an easy path that won’t require making any Lost Ark purchases. Alternatively, new players can also receive trusted status by making any purchase in Lost Ark through either Steam or Amazon. You can learn more about the Steam Guard mobile authenticator here, and learn about Steam’s trusted status here.
Two other updates are also included in this update to prevent bots from negatively impacting the player-driven economy:
Converted some quest rewards from Gold to Silver.
Added a daily 20 item registration limit per Roster for the Auction House and Market.
As we continue our quest to rid Arkesia of bots, we understand it may affect new players who install after the update. We’re keeping a close eye out for feedback, so please continue to share your experiences with us on the forums. We appreciate your patience as we continue working to bring the best possible Lost Ark experience to our players.

Lost Ark Academy - Summoner
Heroes of Arkesia,
On December 14, the Summoner Advanced Class will arrive in Arkesia with the December Update.
In this Lost Ark Academy, you’ll find information to see if the Summoner is the class for you— and if so, help you start planning the skills and engravings you’re interested in using to enhance your impact on the battlefield.
Class Identity
The Class Identity is built around summoning Ancient Elementals. You collect Ancient Energy by you (or your summoned companions) attacking your foes. If you collect enough Ancient Energy, you obtain and Elemental Orb which can be consumed to summon an Ancient Elemental. There are five Ancient Elementals that can be summoned, which cost increasingly more orbs.
Osh (3 Orbs) - Summon the Ancient Elemental Osh at the target location within 12 meters to attack foes with its stomp. The stomp inflicts Damage to foes at the center of impact and Earth Damage to those near the periphery and slams them onto the ground.
Alimaji (4 Orbs) - Summon the dragon-form Ancient Elemental Alimaji at a target location within 12 meters. Alimaji swallows targets, inflicting Earth Damage and launching foes into the air.
Phoenix (5 Orbs) - Summon the Ancient Elemental Phoenix that inflicts Fire Damage, burns them and knocks them back.
Jahia and Ligheas (6 Orbs) - Summon Water Elementals Jahia and Ligheas, inflicting Water Elemental Damage to all nearby foes. Afterwards, temporarily freeze the whirlpool, freezing foes and inflicting Water Damage. Complete the Awakening quest to learn this skill.
Akir (7 Orbs) - Summon the ancient Elemental Akir at a target location within 14 meters. Akir pulls nearby foes close, inflicting Lightning Damage, then lets out a fierce roar that inflicts Lightning Damage. This skill can be learned after completing the Second Awakening Quest.
Class Engravings
Like other Advanced Classes, the Summoner has two unique Class Engravings that each enhance different aspects of the class. The Summoner’s Engravings are focused on different types of Summoned creatures. The Master Summoner Engraving is focused on enhancing the Ancient Elemental Skills, while Communication Overflow is focused on improving the duration of specific Elementals. Find the exact enhancements below:
Master Summoner
Level 1 - Enhances the Ancient Elemental Skill. Elemental Orb cost -1. Normal Skill Damage and Ancient Elemental Skill Damage +2% and Crit Rate +3%.

Bagron's Wrath - Summon quicksand. Reduce move Speed of foes within range. After some time, Bagron jumps out of the sand, inflicting Earth Damage to foes at the center of the quicksand and launching them into the air. Bagron then bites the foes in the air, inflicting Earth Damage and slamming them down onto the ground. Foes at the periphery of the quicksand take Earth Damage when Bagron appears from and disappears into the ground.
Looking Ahead
In next week’s update, the Summoner will release. For players eager for the Summoner to arrive, the two ongoing progression events will still be active; a Punika Powerpass and a Hyper Express Event that helps accelerate a character from Item Level 1302 to 1445. Make sure to save them for the Summoner if you haven’t used them already!
Players will receive a Punika Powerpass after completing Punika's quest “Berver's Friend” during (or before) the event period. The Punika Powerpass will function like the North Vern Powerpasses available to players in the launch version of Lost Ark— once you’ve completed the storyline through that continent, you can use it to bring an alternate character to that point in the game. With the Punika Powerpass, you'll receive Item Level 1302 gear.
Players will be able to designate one character between item Level 1302 and 1445 on their roster to participate in the Hyper Express Event, where they’ll earn honing materials, and level up quickly to Item Level 1445. The designated character will earn rewards from missions when increasing their Item Level to 1445— which grants a particularly valuable reward.
Stay tuned to PlayLostArk.com and our social media channels for the full list of updates in next week's Release Notes. Until then, we'll see you in Arkesia.
Lost Ark x The Witcher
Heroes of Arkesia,
The Lost Ark x The Witcher event arrived in the Korean version of Lost Ark last week! While we know players are still experiencing the many changes found in the November “Feast With Friends” Update, we wanted to announce that adventurers in the Western version of Lost Ark will be able to experience the unique collaboration in January, 2023!
A beautiful island’s festivities have been interrupted by a mystifying vortex. Uncovering the mysteries will lead to encounters with iconic characters from The Witcher on an all-new island and in new event quests! New Witcher themed cosmetics will be available in the store, and new character customization scars, Cards, Stronghold structures, Emojis (and more) await adventurers who participate in the event.
We’ll share more specifics on both the event’s release date and the special in-game items available in January! In the meantime, we’ll see you in Arkesia as we prepare to release the Brelshaza Legion Raid and Summoner Advanced Class, along many other new activities in December.
Lost Ark Academy - Road to Brelshaza
Heroes of Arkesia,
The December Update brings the Brelshaza Legion Raid— one of the most challenging, unique, and beautifully dangerous raids in all of Lost Ark. As we head toward the climactic battle against the Phantom Legion Commander, we wanted to ensure players felt prepared to face Brelshaza and the myriad of other threats arriving in the December Update.
If you’re still working to prepare your characters or returning to Arkesia after some time away, find some methods for preparing your Item Level and gear for the upcoming challenges. New raids have been added over the past few months for the heroes in Arkesia to build up their teamwork, skills, and their ability to overcome unique mechanics. New progression events have been added to provide upgrade materials and honing opportunities. December will bring Brelshaza alongside a host of other content to end the year with a bang!
Preparing Your Gear & Item Level
If you’re a newer player looking to gear up for the first time, Relic gear (needed to reach higher Item Levels) can be earned by completing the Valtan & Vykas Legion Raids. The powerful set effects on the Legion Raid Relic gear can be upgraded by defeating Mayhem Demon Legion Commander Kakul-Saydon in the third Legion Raid. Once you’ve earned the gear, honed, and upgraded your gear’s set effect, have your Engravings, Gems, Cards & Stats set, you’ll be ready— all that will remain is finding out if your skills and teamwork can stand up to the test. Find information below on how to leverage ongoing events to earn all you can in preparation.
If you’re not quite up to the level where you can challenge Brelshaza, no worries! Similar to the “Midnight Circus: Encore” difficulty of the Kakul-Saydon Legion Raid, an easier difficulty is available for players to practice the difficult encounters and mechanics. The entrance count for Phantom Astalgia: Déjà Vu is separate from the entrance count for Brelshaza's Legion Raid, and can be entered once per week per Roster. Only requiring Item Level 1430, you should be able to reach the requirements easily with some help from the current progression events— learn more about them below.
If you’re looking to get every edge possible, the new Bracelet Accessory type will be releasing in December. Make sure you hop into a Void Chaos Dungeon or challenge Caliligos in a new Guardian Raid after the update releases to earn one and increase your character’s stats. No worries if the first piece of content you want to tackle in the update is Brelshaza— Bracelets are also earnable as rewards from the Legion Raid.
Leveraging Ongoing Events & New Content
Current Progression Events - Powerpass & Hyper Express Event
Players will receive a Punika Powerpass after completing Punika's quest “Berver's Friend” during (or before) the event period, delivered via in-game mail. The Punika Powerpass will function like the North Vern Powerpasses available to all players in the launch version of Lost Ark— once you’ve completed the storyline of that continent, you can use the Powerpass to bring an alternate character to Item Level 1302. This is an event Powerpass, and will expire on January 18, 2023.
Pairing well with the Punika Powerpass, a Hyper Express Event is currently active. You can designate one character between Item Level 1302 and 1445 to participate in the Hyper Express Event. The designated character will earn honing materials and other rewards from missions when increasing their Item Level to 1445, which grants a particularly valuable reward. Like the Punika Powerpass, character designation will end on January 18, 2023, but missions can be completed until February 8, 2023. The Hyper Express Event will take a character past the Item Level required to play Phantom Astalgia: Déjà Vu, and up to the level required to craft Relic gear.
If you’re eagerly awaiting the release of the Summoner Advanced Class, please note that both progression events will be active next month, and can be saved to use on the Summoner. No additional Powerpasses or Express events will be added in the next monthly update, as these events will be active throughout December.
Final Tips - Ongoing Events
There are a few ongoing events players looking to gear up should take full advantage of:
Make sure to visit the Aldebaran festival held on Mokomoko Night Market Island. Gather food-themed items which can be combined to create gift sets. These gift sets can be used to exchange for valuable items, including Card Packs, Honing Support Selection Chests and more! This event will run throughout the Autumn season until December 7.
Tune in to watch your favorite Lost Ark content creators every Thursday for special “Thankful Thursday” Twitch Drops. Find details and a schedule of upcoming drops in the Twitch Community Celebration article.
Competitive Proving Grounds Season 2 kicked off last month. Play PvP to earn Coins of Courage which can exchanged for valuable rewards.
Ark Pass Season 2 adds new ways for players to earn impactful rewards just by playing Lost Ark. Players can complete missions to progress through 30 Ark Pass levels, and with each level reached, new rewards will be unlocked and earned. The regular Ark Pass is completely free and grants a variety of helpful rewards, such as Pheons, honing material selection chests, pirate coins, and even a Legendary Card Pack! While all players will have access to the free Ark Pass, those interested in more rewards and cosmetics can exchange Royal Crystals for two premium reward tracks (Premium & Super Premium) which each layer in additional rewards to the leveling track. The Premium and Super Premium Ark Passes will be available through the in-game store until December 14, 2022 and mission progress can be earned until January 18, 2023. Learn more and find the cosmetics showcased in the Ark Pass Season 2 article.

November 30 Weekly Update
Heroes of Arkesia,
All Lost Ark servers and regions will be taken offline on Wednesday, November 30th at 12 AM PT / 8 AM UTC / 9 AM CET for our weekly maintenance. Downtime is estimated to last up to 4 hours, and this update will address the following issues:
Fixed an issue where some photosensitivity warnings were not showing at appropriate times.
Fixed an issue where the amount of gold sent in some mail was incorrectly showing as a negative number.
Fixed an issue where some mount names and descriptions were not properly displaying.
The Reaper Dawn skin will now show the intended glowing effect.
The Nia Village Wallpaper will no longer be listed as “Rania Village” in the character selection screen.
Eerie Halloween Skeleton Headwear, Eerie Halloween Clown Headwear, and Eerie Halloween Mummy Headwear will now show properly when equipped to a Female Gunner or Male Martial Artist.
The Halloween Stronghold Theme sales expiration date in the Stronghold Theme menu is now accurate.
While this weekly update only directly provides fixes for the aforementioned issues, please note that we are still actively working through ongoing issues surrounding in-game disconnects. We will continue to provide updates and changes to these issues as progress is made, regardless of weekly update status or timing.
