Welcome to the harsh and ruthless Siberian wastelands. Expedition Zero Playtest is OUT NOW!
[previewyoutube="yCUYF26XUBI;full"] Today we're incredibly excited to present to you the newest playable build of our game, and it's available now! Before we jump into all the details of this new playtest, and if you are not familiar with the game – let us quickly introduce you to Expedition Zero.
The unexpected meteorite crash turned the endless Siberian taiga forest into a nightmare exclusion zone. The military bases went into radio silence, and the locals talked about the mysterious flesh-eating creatures and devastated villages. The most advanced Soviet scientific team, "Expedition Zero" was immediately sent to the zone with state-of-the-art research technology and mechanized protective suits. But the signal was lost on day one.
You play as a lone survival soviet engineer whose mission is to uncover the mystery of the zone and find his way back home. Explore the eerie ruins of an abandoned village, underneath which is a secret Soviet laboratory.
Use your portable science station on a sled – this will definitely come in handy for research and crafting tools to survive the unforgiving wilderness and fight what lurks around you in the trees.
Siberia is well-known for its harsh weather, however the impact made it impossible for people to survive outside during the night time due to some extremely low temperatures and conditions. Remember that weather is not the only threat out there… You will definitely want to find yourself a shelter for a night or two that you’ll need to heat and fortify.
Although the original “Expedition Zero” crew had the most advanced suits equipped, they were not designed for such conditions, so you’ll need to make good use of your engineering skills and knowledge to upgrade it to your advantage with additional modules.
Keep your eyes open and watch your back. No one knows whom or what you might stumble upon in the wilderness… The AI-driven monsters can hunt you down at night so you have to hide and use your surroundings to outwit them.
Please enjoy the playtest and let us know in the comments what you think of it. Your honest feedback will help us effectively improve the game. Make sure to follow our social media to stay up to date with all the important updates and join us in Discord to keep in touch with other players and the developers!
Please consider Following and Wishlisting the game, so you won't miss the upcoming news, latest devlogs and sneak peeks!
