Lost in the Rift - Reborn

A Big Thanks + First Patch Announcement

Hey guys and girls,

the last few days have been very exciting for me. Back in the planning phase of the project I decided early on that I wanted to create a VR Horror experience that was unlike any other. Keeping cheap jumpscares to a minimum and instead working with sound and scenery to create an atmosphere of dread and discomfort. Slowly easing the player into the setting to make him forget about the "virtual" in "virtual reality".
Then after many months of further planning, conceptualizing, coding and rigorous testing I was ready to show my passion project to the public and it seems that many of you really enjoyed what they saw.

Knowing that players all around the world are diving into a game that started as pure imagination in my head is just mind-blowing to me!
Thank you so much for your support!

However there has also been some criticism which I'm happy to receive and respond to by releasing a first patch to the game. Here are the patch notes:

  • It should now be much clearer where the player should go after the flashlight has gone out.
  • Replaced seemingly random or misplaced sounds. Improved sound design and positioning.
  • Some players complained about a slow start to the game which I addressed by slightly increasing the walk speed in the forest area and by having more "events" happen in the introductory part of the game.

While I'm aware that I can't satisfy every player, I do hope these tweaks and changes create a better experience for most!

If you have more suggestions or requests feel free to comment below or drop me an e-mail. I'm always happy to hear your thoughts on the game!
If you want to support the game further I'd be very grateful if you'd write a review for the game.

Thanks again for your support!
