We were out of the office last week to record some environmental sounds. Such as moving through the grass, sounds of nature such as birds, chopping the wood, etc.
Here are some comments from our sound designer.
So we decided to record some sounds and nature noises outside. Turn out it is pretty hard to find a quiet place where there will be no unnatural sounds around. It took us about 2 hours to find such a place, yet still, there were some noises of the far-away dogs. Nothing we can't handle, but it surely slows us down a bit. We want to create very natural sounds for the environment, especially for the nighttime, so when you are all alone without any light source, you'll get scared, even if you aren't afraid of the dark. Most of the sounds I am able to record in the workplace, but things like an engine running sound or birds (unless it is someone's parrot) aren't easy to record because of their origin. Then I go and clear these sounds from noises and master them so they will sound natural. This week we will be outdoors again to record some sounds.
Map upgrades
The ongoing work that is always in place is the map update. Our level designer got some help in his work, so updates and revisits are now much quicker. Here are some examples of world map rework.
That's all for today's news. Hope you enjoy it. And to tell us if you would like to see more comments from developers.
Weekly News #100
Weekly #100!
First of all, we would like to thank You all for staying with us. It's been a long journey and we are not going to stop. The game is getting better with each day and with each weekly news session. Now without further ado let's get to today's topics.
NPC work is ongoing
As it was stated before we are implementing a new NPC system, the NPC would become much smarter, for example, if previously wolves would just stay and watch at you once you are out of their reach, now they will wander around, and eventually they'll go away if you are lucky enough. Human NPCs would still shoot at you though, so be careful.
New level ARS Motor&Rotor
The new level that we are working on is a complex Auto Repair Show Motor&Rotor. It will be a big level, so it would take some time to loot it up, but the reward is totally worth it. Our level designer shared some blueprints of how it would look.
Note that it might change on release.
That's all for today. Yet again we are grateful for all your support. Your support is very important for us and it is giving us the strength to continue our work. Cya next week guys.
Weekly News #99
How is the testing going? Weekly news guys.
Bug fixing continues
Thanks to the reports a lot of bugs were found and fixed. We are fixing them every day with every report, and polishing the game in general. We want to say thank You to all who are helping us with the game, we really appreciate it.
New meshes
Our 3D artists continue to work on new meshes, as we stated before these meshes are for the car services centers. Very useful location if you need some mechanical parts or car parts. The work is going pretty smoothly so there should be no delays.
For public test
Since everything is going as intended, we would like to announce that we are preparing an update for public tests. The update will be regarding NPC and AI. We will need to test the new feature. So the AI and NPC will also be in the upcoming patch, if you want to test before the patch, join us in the public test. We will continue to deploy fixes to the test branch.
It was a week full of work, and the next one promises to be the same, so cya guys next week :)
Public Test
Public Test has started
Hey Guys we are glad to announce that the Public test is up. Note that for now, it is only single-player, we will launch multi-player servers a little bit later. Take a look and don't forget to send us feedback. If it is a bug report don't forget the screenshots, they are very helpful. You can send bug reports in steam discussions or to the email: contact@faromstudio.com
Hello guys, while we are working on the patch here is another weekly.
Map update
He never sleeps, he never talks. It is our level designer, who never gets tired of working with the game world. Most likely because we told him that once the map is big enough we will enable vehicles. Here are some minor map improvements. The new level is coming as well.
Bug fixing
To explain the recent public test postponement, we are fixing some major bugs. Not all of them are critical, but yet again we need to polish some things so there will be less work after testing. Fortunately, the work is almost done and all of the critical bugs seem to be found. Yet again, fingers crossed guys.
That's all for today weekly, cya next week :)
Public Test Postponement
Howdy, the public test will be moved to Friday, we are sorry but we need more time to fix some of the blockers.
The public test will be on 22/10/2021 in the evening
Public Test Postponement
Howdy, the public test will be moved to Thursday, as it's been told we want to get rid of some issues before we launch the public test.
Don't worry folks, everything is great, just cleaning up the garbage. :)
The public test will be on 21/10/2021
Weekly News #97
Another week another weekly.
Hey everyone, hope you are doing great, so let's cut to the chase.
New meshes and the new level
Thanks to our new designers we can create new locations and game content much faster, and here is one of them. The Eagles Pride Customs. The work is still in progress, however, you already can see that it will take some time to loot out this location. A nice spot to ambush on. So if someone invites you to Eagles Pride, it's probably a trap.
Testing time
We are finishing the public patch and right now we are in process of final tests, in order to get rid of bugs and polish some things that are out of order at some point. This weekend we will be running some stress tests and full feature tests. Once we are sure that everything is in order we will deploy the public test branch. After the public tests, we will collect the feedback and make some adjustments to the feature priority depending on the feedback. Fingers crossed.
That's all for today weekly, waiting for You in a public test and cya next week :)

Weekly News #95
WTWN or Welcome to the Weekly News!
Map improvements
We are working on map constantly without any breaks, one of the most important things for a game like Lost Region is to create a map that is interesting to explore, as well as to create a map that tells the story without a narrator. Currently, we are working on companies that used to provide services and goods in our world, they are all custom with their own story.
New work from our new designers
Here are some of the new models from our 3D design team. They handle the task pretty well, and thanks to them we can provide new content much quicker.
