Love is Dead update, v1.1.1.0

Hi folks! Some patch notes from our latest Love is Dead update, version 1.1.1.0

  • Fixed a bug where, after restarting via the Pause menu, pressing Space/Select at any point would restart the level again
  • Added new SFX, and adjusted volume levels of some existing SFX (notably the convert-human-to-zombie sound)
  • Performance updates, things are running smoother than ever now
  • Additional small fixes and improvements

These last couple weeks have been buck wild, thank you SO MUCH to everyone who played the game, reviewed it, and let me know how your experience was. There'll be plenty more updates for Love is Dead over the coming months :)

Cheers!

Zombies, Pancakes, and Progress

Well howdy all you fine fleshy folks. Dora here, with an update from the team behind the game. After all, our zombie lovers may have eternity, but you don't. So let's get cracking!

While a lot of work behind the scenes has been what you'd expect (coding, complaining about coding, swearing/pleading/crying at coding), one of the most substantial efforts has been the art overhaul. Thanks to the talents of Xavier Garcia (Twitter), I Saw Her Standing there is looking even lovelier than before with improved lighting and models that... well, I was going to say "breathe new life" into the original designs, but given that this is a game about dead people... aahhh, you know what I mean.

The goal was to create something that felt true to the original Flash games and concepts, but also had an altogether more polished appearance and some extra personality. But don't take my word for it. Check out the two images below! The top screen is the original, while the second one is new. Pretty spiffy, huh? Obviously this means we'll need to update the trailer and other assets when everything is finalized, but hey, you can't make a pancake without breaking a few eggs. Literally!

There's still work on the visuals to be done, of course. Not all of the new art is in yet for every zone, including the player characters, but the team is cracking away at it every day. Beyond the new coat of paint, the levels themselves are undergoing more work. This ranges from things like tweaking the layouts to make them more or less difficult, and in some cases, rebuilding them from scratch. Each of the game's seven worlds has its own unique challenges and twists to mechanics, and finding the balance for those before we go into testing and bug fixing.

So, when is I Saw Her Standing There coming out? Well, the most accurate response is "When it's ready!" While we've come a long way, we still have more yet to do, and we're excited to share more news and previews with you. We appreciate your patience and support, not just for this game, but of the entire series. We don't just love you for your braaaaaaaains... but for your heart, too!
