The world is slowly recovering from the coronavirus, and the governments are gradually easing the quarantine measures and cancelling the restrictions imposed earlier. However, throughout all this time, we, as previously mentioned, have been working on the game! Today we would like to show you an example of a remade animation of sprites: [previewyoutube="o-yCQYfWLXI;full"]
Not all the characters have been fixed yet, and that’s what we are preoccupied with at the moment.
Besides this, we are completing the final route of the game - Kagome’s path. It feels somewhat special to us in many senses - because it is the final step of the way that accounts for more than half a million written words, and, perhaps, because the problem of the character is particularly close to me (that doesn’t mean that I like the rest of the girls any less). I would also like to mention that we have received very positive reviews with regards to Ellie’s route from our friends and acquaintances - I am aware of the fact that many would pick her as a favourite, so we guarantee we will not disappoint you! It also interests us to observe the development of the story: in the beginning, many of the key moments were missing, but they are fully present now. Indeed, any piece evolves and progresses as the time goes by - starting as a quick idea, a flash in the author’s mind, and reaching the phase of the complete novel or a game, after having thousands or tens of thousands of hours put into it.
This summer we are planning to start an internal and then the closed beta testing of the game, so, this time, you will not be waiting long!
You can support us and get some pleasant bonuses along with all the DLC that will be released in the future here.
Happy Victory Day, Comrades!
Dear friends,
May 9th is Victory Day in Russia, and it is particularly remarkable that this year we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the greatest triumph in our history. Today we all recall the heroic deed of Soviet people and other nations, who committed to living in a peaceful world, and hope that the nightmare the Second World War was will never occur again in the future!
In regards to the development of LMR, it is going according to the plan. As we are finishing the script, the need for some new CG’s has arisen, and our artists are currently preoccupied with that. It’s always pleasant when the project turns out to be exactly what we have expected. Although it might be richer and more diverse in terms of its content, the main idea hasn’t changed, rather developing together with the author. One wants to believe that the work one put so much effort in cannot be mediocre. Besides, the inner voice in each creator’s head is always the strictest judge.
In any case, we are trying to stick to the highest standards of quality and doing everything within our capabilities to make the game worth your while! That’s all we can say for now, but we promise to give you more concrete data already this summer!
You can still support us and get some pleasant bonuses as well as all the future DLC.
Feast in Time of Plague
Dear friends,
In these dark times, we all experience a lack of good news and positive emotions. Instead of updating the newsfeed and your Facebook page regularly, please spend some time with your close and loved ones, watch a remarkable film, read a good book or play a fascinating game. Today’s post isn’t to be focused on the prevalent negative atmosphere.
It’s well known that the process of creating art is non-linear in its nature, so the final result might deviate from the expectation to a certain extent. It turned out to be the case with LMR – the final scenario consists of 400.000 words instead of 300.000 as we assumed earlier. However, even such a volume is not enough to fit all of our ideas, so you might expect at least one DLC after the release. Remember, it was the same with Everlasting Summer?
As for the scenario itself, there are only two parts out of twelve that aren’t completed yet. In addition to that, we are finishing the coding and drawing parts. Unfortunately, while some of us indeed got more time to work on the project because of the quarantine, others, rather paradoxically, have experienced quite the opposite effect. However, putting all the separate elements (text, art, and sound) together is a much more rapid process than creating them. Therefore, “Love, Money, Rock-’n’-Roll” is eventually going to be released before the end of 2020!
Finally, as a token of our gratitude for your patience and support, we would like to announce that the ones, who have already made a preorder or will do so before the release, get the future DLC for free! Please mind that there isn’t much time left. You can sponsor us and get quite a few pleasant bonuses here.
Virus of Disunity
Dear friends,
These months the world has been facing an unprecedented challenge in this chapter of human history. Not being a news site, we would still like to throw in our two cents regarding the situation that is, in one way or another, concerning everybody for the time being.
In the era, when the digital economy develops and flourishes, the Internet is becoming more and more present in all aspects of our lives, and the prior socioeconomic and political models are getting outdated, the necessity of reshaping the way we and our successors are going to live on this planet as a species and individuals is growing evident. The historical processes are mostly inert, and even radical changes such as revolutions do not alter common people’s daily lives at once. Unfortunately, the current event is yet another confirmation of that: the global threat did not make the ones, who are responsible for their nations’ well-being, put aside their interests and fake ideas about the universal justice to unite in the presence of something more sinister than the stock market crash or the oil trade war. Virtual liquidities of several individuals, expressed in numbers with many zeros, are ephemeral and may disappear instantly when real menaces come into play. As it turned out, the GDP volume, the book values of the biggest enterprises and the curve of economic growth are not always correlated with the ability to quickly and adequately address the global challenges. Therefore, we hope that in the 21st century, human’s life is still going to be valued above private property.
On the other hand, this pandemic has again proved the common truth: your conscience is the best moral controller. If everyone is to take prudent measures to protect themselves, we will hopefully have this nightmare left in the past by the summer. Take care of yourselves and your close ones!
As for the development of LMR, the pandemic does not influence it. In fact, many of us have got more time to work on the game due to fulfilling the working duties remotely.
Since most of you are obliged to stay home as well (and wait for LMR), you can use this opportunity to play Everlasting Summer once again or enjoy one of the multiple modes created for it. Meanwhile, you can also make a preorder of LMR here and get some pleasant bonuses.
For The Fatherland!
Dear friends,
The 23rd of February is a special day in Russia dedicated to the defenders of the Fatherland. One can protect their country in many ways apart from holding a gun and keeping the borders safe, especially in the 21st century. Therefore, we wish all of you to live in peace and prosperity!
As for the development of LMR, these last months have given us a new perspective in regards to the game. Oftentimes, it happens that the project looks very different in the beginning and in the end. When the main part is completed, it becomes very integral and, to a great extent, manages to exist independently. The characters show their new colours, even the author didn’t know of. However, the final stage is barely any less important than others. It works the same way as in marathon – if one runs too fast at the start line, chances are, they will likely be too exhausted to reach the finish one. As a matter of fact, we would like to rewrite and complete some of the endings after having the main scenario work done.
Besides that, we are working on the optimisation of the technical part of the project, and, by the release date, the LMR engine will be modified, which allows implementing new features and increasing the performance on low-end devices (this process is being performed in parallel with the rest of the development and doesn’t affect the release date).
Timewise, we are planning to release the game as early as possible this year, but can’t name the month yet. In any case – you shan’t wait long!
Also, there is still some time for you to preorder the game and get some nice bonuses as well as have your name appear in the titles, for the history’s sake! Some of the items are to disappear before the release.
We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May you and your families enjoy peace and harmony in the new decade!
As for us, we are not just turning another page of the calendar, but step into the new era together with you. Merely ten years ago, “Everlasting Summer” was an unknown project from an anonymous imageboard, and now it is one of the most recognisable Russian games. In 2020, we are going to release “Love, Money, Rock’n’Roll”, which is an ideological continuation of “Everlasting Summer”, although it is not related to it in terms of the story. It also marks a new phase of our development and creative vision.
However, we are not planning to stop just there and will keep working on the new games. We already have concepts, drafts, ideas, but it is too early to speak of it. The most crucial is that we have desire, energy and belief that you will be interested in all this. In fact, every writer writes for themselves first, but it is much easier to persist when one sees that their works are in demand rather than when they are just kept in their drawer. It pleases one even more when they regularly read positive reviews and receive gratitudes from people of all nationalities, ages, genders and social backgrounds.
Internet, and, as I view it, in particular, gadgets have changed our reality dramatically. What existed only in science fiction merely 20 years ago, seems to be an irreplaceable part of our lives now. The distances are getting shorter, people are getting closer and the borders are getting thinner. Now one can talk to everybody on Earth at any time. Of course, if they reply… We have become closer to people, whom we don’t know, whom we have never seen and will never see. However, at the same time, we’ve grown so much apart from the ones, who are next to us. Therefore, in the upcoming year, we urge you to take your eyes off the screen and look around. Perhaps you will find something more important than everlasting memes and Netflix.
You can still support us and get some nice bonuses by making a preorder here.
In the blink of an eye
Dear friends,
Another year is passing by and so is the decade. Six years ago, “Everlasting Summer” has been released: its development was no easy task, but, as we see it, it was worth it. We hope you hold the same view!
People say that time flies and years pass at light speed. However, for me, these six years have been full of events: releasing the Steam and mobile versions of “Everlasting Summer” as well as launching the “Love, Money, Rock’n’Roll” project. And now, with just a few remaining bits left, I realise that developing this game was not any less challenging, but, hopefully, it is also at least as interesting as the previous one!
Yes, we would need to postpone the release date to 2020 again. In principle, we could’ve released it already as it is: without a few final (and that’s crucial) CGs, some animations, without testing (which would’ve definitely affected the gaming process on mobile platforms), with a forced and shortened ending of one of the roots. We could have made early access and worked on it on the go.
However, I do believe that early access has always been a bit of oxymoron when it comes to visual novels. And judging by the rushed releases of the recent more expensive projects, we all can conclude that rush kills quality.
I often hear from people in the game industry that “Everlasting Summer” has a unique community. This is a wonderful thing to be noted, but, of course, we wouldn’t want the meme “It shouldn’t be long” contain more truth than a joke normally does. Remember: a delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.
The purpose of this post is not to justify how everything has been going but rather serve as a manifestation of belief in the bright future. New Year’s promises given to oneself (like losing some weight or learning a new language) usually do not lead to the desired outcome and can even be demotivating. Nevertheless, it is much easier to build something up on the basis of what had been done. For now, a lot has been finished already. Currently, we would say that the game is 85% completed.
I am sure, some of the developers would’ve just released it and then fixed the rest by adding patches at the production stage. This reminds me of the recent anime, “Shoujo-Tachi Wa Kouya Wo Mezasu”, in which the protagonists formally won the competition in terms of sales figures, but admitted that their game was merely a flash in the pan, while their competitors have created something that would be selling for years and years after.
We don’t compete with anyone in terms of speed or sales volume – quality matters more to us, as well as our input in the world’s culture, although it might sound far-fetched and posh. Perhaps in our age of quick consumption, such an approach wouldn’t be liked by everybody. Our apologies for that.
However, if you share the same values and want to support us, you can make a preorder and get some nice bonuses here.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you. We are delighted and honoured to have you around.
Just An Update
Hi there!
The 4th of November is National Reconciliation Day in Russia, and we are very delighted to have your support every step of the way!
For the last two months, we have done some significant upgrades regarding the quality of the sprites in the game, based on your feedback. Apart from the overall increase in the level of details and finessing, we have been reworking the emotions of the characters, so that their exterior would fit the CG. The completed sprites have been handed over to our animation artist, so you are fully entitled to seeing better animations in comparison with the demo.
Besides, we are still working on the code and scenario. Our project is approaching the stage of alpha testing, which we will communicate later. We are continuously putting quality first so that you will be able to enjoy a worthy product.
Please remain calm – after some downturn (that has been caused by the objective reasons), we have regained our velocity!
Please don’t forget about the preorder! You can still make one before the release and enjoy some excellent bonuses.
Turning Of The Calendar
Dear friends,
Here we are to bring some exciting news regarding the development of LMR!
Over these months, we have done a lot to optimise the mobile version of the game for Android and iOS. We did our best to consider your wishes and eliminate the flaws. Now the game works with uncommon screen resolutions (although what is deemed to be standard and common in our mad world?), but you can also play with the original 16:9 resolution. The fast-forward option now functions faster, and you can control the game behaviour using swipes, just like in “Everlasting Summer”. Besides, the game takes less memory on your smartphone. Finally, we have corrected an enormous amount of bugs, which we wouldn’t even start mentioning in this post.
Apart from that, we have updated the demo in Steam!
As for the rest of the development, things are running their course.
Use this moment to make a preorder - and have your name (or nickname) commemorated in the titles of the game! Your support is vital to us, especially now, when we are at the final stage! You can make a preorder here.
Privacy Policy
Dear friends,
We are a little bit off schedule with our update, sorry for that!
For the last two weeks, we have been busy handling the issues with the confidentiality policy of Google Play as well as the Unity modules that led to the demo version of LMR being temporarily unavailable.
Apart from that, we keep working on the game itself. So far we have fixed the issue with Nikolai's inconsistent hair colour on different CGs and improved the quality of sprites. That had required using external resources but has not affected the overall speed of game development. As for the script, Ellie and Kagome's routes have already been started.
Also, we have optimised the game a bit, so that the size of the release version for Android would not scare you much.
Although this summer is not as hot as it was expected in Russia, your active support has been keeping our hearts warm! Every kind word and action of yours remind us that, although there has been a lot of challenges, you all have been waiting patiently to play the game. We are very grateful for that knowledge.
You can still make a preorder and get some nice bonuses here: https://vk.cc/9zxotc
