Next week, as thanks for your presence here, we shall be sending out a spoiler-free guide to navigate the game, as well as peeks of the art.

A new demo will be available now as part of the Steam Fall Festival (Oct 7 - 13). We have taken your feedback from previous times and polished many things behind it. Your dedication to the investigations are appreciated.



In addition, we'll be streaming the game on the Steam page directly at various times We hope to see you there.

Finishing touches & the demo returns

Hello, digital exorcists.

We are less than a month away from the game's release on October 15th. Here is the final update before the big announcement... prepare your technology, or face consequences afterwards.

Game Devs of Color Expo



The game's demo will be back for a limited time (Sept 18 - 21) as part of GDoC Expo. With many other demos, talks, and other activities, this is one of our favorite events of the year.

Will you be able to discover the murderer and cast out their daemons, exorcist?



Dev Updates



Finishing touches for the game have been the focus of this month's work.


  • Art polish over one of the murder cases. VFX for murder sequences including blood, gore and cool visual effects (dust particles, electric shocks, cloud shadows, etc.)
  • 2D polish of UI elements, some revamping of UX
  • Tech optimization and bug fixing, localization

It is official. The Church of Kitfox has declared Lucifer Within Us will release on Oct 15th, 2020.

Dev Updates



The Church has released the latest news on society's progression. Please peruse, at your leisure.

Design
- All writing is game is completed
- Steam integrated and achievements have been implemented including... a secret?
- Tutorials have been updated to be more streamlined and easy to follow

- Each evidence now has unique icons

New cursors and UI 💀 Dev updates

Hello, exorcist.

Our digital correspondence continues, and the Church of Ein Soph has decided to reward us with a look into the newest developments in the exorcism technology, which we hope you will look at carefully.

Here are possible UI changes the Church is considering for your daemon scanning technology... which one do you prefer?



Furthermore, cursors which will helpfully change to reflect your actions have been worked on.

March development updates.

Hello exorcists,

First - a welcome to the new exorcists that have joined us from PAX East. We welcome you among our ranks with pleasure.



We have been hard at work to deliver the game to you soon, so that you may aid us with purging daemons. Here are a few quick updates about our progress, if it interests you.

ART
- All character portraits are now polished and stylized
- New background concept art for each case used for dialogue cut-scenes and main menu
- Polished 3D animations for murder sequences in each case

TECH
- Localization tools and implementation across the game

DESIGN
- Polishing one of the case writings

First Playable Demo at PAX East 2020.

The second month of the year has already come for us, and our technologies are rushing to keep up with the onslaught of daemon possessions.

We are under oath to let you know of this event though: at PAX East, come by the Kitfox Games booth (#27039) to play the first ever public demo of Lucifer Within Us. We hope to see you there, exorcists.



Development


The environmental art of the Final Case of the game is complete, as well as the character portraits. Exorcist Ada, whom you will be controlling, is under your care. We have also updated the tech to allow for localization for different tongues, though if this will help you with the lying suspects is another question.

We grow ever closer to the game's completion, which will allow you to finally solve the murders and exorcise the daemons that plague our world. Your colleague, Inqusitor Vergil, is excited to have you working with him.

Theory Crafting & A Demo At PAX East ☠️

Hello, exorcists.

We begin the new decade deep in our technologies - are we possessed by daemons to complete our tasks? We cannot say. Perhaps an exorcist will be knocking on our doors soon...

D̷̡̍̋̚e̵̪̣̪͑͂͘ṽ̸̫̝̤̏͠ȩ̶͍͛̆l̶̻͈̱̹̈́̑͝o̴̼̊p̸̛̓̉͘ͅm̵̰͇̼̔̎͗͊e̸̹̱͑ņ̸̣̻̏̒́́ṭ̴̞̤̊͗̈́̔ͅ


Much of the game's story arc has been completed, and the cases are all undergoing a polish round. Soon you will discover the mysteries of Ein Soph... unless, of course, you fall under possession yourself. Luckily, the technology has been updated in order to allow you to save and load cases across the game, with large improvements to the user interface so that there is more of a focus on the mystery solving. Along with new animations and 3D production on the final case, the Church's completion draws ever closer... Of course, we have also done the ritual exorcism to rid of as many bugs as possible.

This is a very work-in-progress example of the means in which your accusations will be articulated, after a suspect questions you about your accusation.
