Through the Freedom of Information Act, we have obtained a series of long-sealed interviews between the commission and then-CIA operative John Donovan. Today, we reveal the first tape. In it, Donovan explains how the criminal underworld thrived through the summer of ‘68 and how it had successfully ingrained itself into every facet of life in the city.
