Ver 2.13 Update!

This is the first update in a while! We have seen several cases of save data corruption due to errors when auto-saving in dungeons, so we have implemented countermeasures.

[Countermeasures against save failures and save data corruption]

  • Auto-save timing in dungeons has been slightly shifted.
    (Previously, saving was performed at the same time as dungeon terrain generation, which was considered overloading.)
  • Automatic backup file generation for saved data has been implemented.
  • Implemented automatic restoration from backup files in the event of save data corruption.
    (When there is no backup file, the corrupted file is deleted.)

[Fixes]

  • Fixed various anomalies associated with game engine updates.

We can now confirm that Magic Potion Millionaire works on Steam Deck!

This is a game with pixel art that is highly visible on small displays, and it is also designed with an emphasis on controller operation, making it a perfect match for the Steam Deck. We hope you enjoy the game on Steam Deck as well!

Prices of some currencies have been revised.

Last October, Steam updated the recommended market rates for various currencies.
In line with this, we have also reset the prices for some currencies for this title.

Prices for Japanese Yen (JPY) and U.S. Dollars (USD) will remain the same, but prices of other currencies have been adjusted to the current recommended market rates.
(Prices have generally increased... Sorry)

Trading cards have been activated!

As of today, the Steam trading cards for "Magic Potion Millionaire" have been activated!
It was a long time ago that we made them, but we are finally able to put them out there.

Those of you who've already been playing for some time will get them soon enough!

ver 2.12 update!

Some fixes have been made. And I added the developer's long-time partner bird "Pooh" to the end credits.

[ Fixes ]

  • In the last dungeon entry menu, pressing the up and down keys at the time of equipment release would change the difficulty level, but this has been fixed.
  • When entering the last dungeon for the first time, the first entry message was reopened during the entry staging, but this has been fixed.
  • Fixed the display text of material objects and mimics being hidden when they are at a distance from the player.
  • Avoided multiple overlapping sound effects of enemy "meatball" self-destructs.
  • Fixed multiple overlapping sound effects sounding when cancelling out of various menus.
  • Fixed in Atelier Pastel where the decoration switch could be operated while opening various menus.
  • Changed the notation "Gamepad" to "Controller" in the Settings menu (based on the Nintendo Switch version).
  • Added "-SPECIAL THANKS- POOH (JAVA SPARROW)" to the end credits.

Pooh, the Java Sparrow, has made many contributions to this work, including serving as a model for the "Mega Buncho", and a promotional mascot on SNS, and healing for a developer.

He passed away last December at the age of 9. In honor of his contribution, I decided to include his name in the end credits.

Thanks for all these years, Pooh!

Steam Cloud is now available!

With the recent Ver 2.11 update, save data can now be used between different PCs, and Steam Cloud is now supported!

The format of the save data will be changed in this update because the previous save data could not be read between different PCs. The format conversion will be done automatically when the game is first started after the update.
("Now Saving..." will be displayed on the title menu. The conversion will be finished in a moment)

[ Improvement ]

  • Added "Gamepad vibration on/off" to the settings.
  • The value now turns yellow when the number of scraps is at its maximum.

[ Adjustment ]

  • Adjusted the gamepad vibration to be too strong.
  • Mimics now appear in the last dungeon on Impossible+ difficulty.
  • Mimic Detector equipment no longer unlocks when entering the last dungeon.
  • Slightly lowered the life of enemies after the middle level of the initial four-attribute dungeon.
  • Reduced the scrap cost of warp portal.
  • Ammo generator can now be equipped in the event dungeon.
  • Reduced the speed of the Union's top-ranked guided projectiles.
  • Faster attack cycle for Mega Mushrooms.

[ Fixes ]

  • Changed save data format.
  • Fixed a case where multiple sound effects still occurred when simultaneously destroying needle bullets.
  • The time display flag in the event dungeon is now independent from the settings menu.
  • Fixed a case where the first message at the entrance of the last dungeon could be canceled.
  • Fixed a case where the left and right keys could be used to move items when displaying order details in the potion sales menu.
