Hi Wizards!

Free Spell Update
- Improved Spell System and Effects. There are now even more spell combinations to make use of, most of the existing spells have had a graphical overhaul.
- Added Steam and Ice as Individual Elements. Just as it was in Magicka 1 these will take up one slot in the element queue:
Steam is made from Water and Fire
Ice is created from Water and Cold
- New Element! Poison! As above, this will take up one slot in the element queue. Poison is created from Death and Water.
- Added Poison State. When poisoned, the target will take damage over time. Damage done is dictated by the target's total health and the amount of Poison applied, the target will also become slowed. The poisoned state can be extended by applying more Poison to the target. The poisoned state can be removed by applying the Life element.
- Changed Ice Projectiles. Pure Ice is now a channeled spell, while Ice + Earth will work as it did before the change.
- Changed Projectile Charge Time. Earth and Ice + Earth have had their charge time reduced, meaning they will reach full effect faster. Damage for these spells has been re-balanced to work with this change.
- Re-balanced Mines. Mines now deal more base damage and reach their full damage faster.
- Changed Earth and Ice armor to also Reduce Push Received. When using an Earth or Ice armor, you will now also be more resistant to push effects . The amount of resistance depends on the amount of elements used when creating the armor.
- Changed Pure Shield. Duration has been increased, and will decrease faster when taking magic damage.
- Re-balanced Barriers and Elemental Walls. Physical barriers (Earth and Ice) now have a longer duration. They have also received a buff to the amount of damage they do when imbued with other elements.
- Overhauled the Challenge Experience. Reworked the challenge menu and added leader-boards.
There are also two bugfixes included:
- Mine Damage on Clients Fixed. Fixed an issue where clients mines would always deal damage as if they were fully charged.
- Fixed Sometimes not Getting Achievement for Completing Campaign. This issue should now be fixed and you should be able to get the achievements.

1.0.1.3 Arriving Shortly!
Any minute now the patch should find its way to you via the Magick of Steam. Today's patch mostly focuses on quality of life changes, see below for the full run-down!
Disconnection-handling in Single Player
Players that disconnect from steam should now be able to continue playing in offline mode.
Game settings in the Pause menu
You can now change settings in the pause menu
Fixed issue with Challenge Mode enemies not awarding score
Now you will get points if enemies fall into holes or gets killed by each other.
That Other Forest bridge
Previously if you joined a game in progress where the bridge had already been lowered it would not show as such to you.
The bridge should now be properly synced when a player joins after the bridge has been lowered.
Improved Waterwheel fight
The waterwheel have been updated to give the players more hints on what they should do (see the cut scene). This should make things much easier for those new to this particular encounter.
Fixed damage output of weapon-imbued Water+Shield+Death+Earth
Using this combination should now give the expected amount (more) of damage
Retry button added to pause menu in trials & challenges
If you got off to a rocky start and are chasing that high score, you can now reset and get back to the action quicker!
Patch 1.0.1.2 is here!
Another bunch of tweaks and changes coming your way! The patch should have landed just about....NOW!
Lowered enemy health while playing singleplayer.
We had some feedback that things were tough when playing solo, this should help address that. For those of you playing 2+ everything remains the same.
Corrected issue with sign-up items not showing in equipment list.
The signup robe kit should now be available in your inventory if you signed up when it was available. This is for the Warlock robe, The Peacebreaker and Ritual Sickle. Apologies for the delay in getting this out to you!
Fixed issue with DLC packs not working in offline mode.
The DLC packs should now be available if you play in offline mode.
The 13th unlock on chapter 5 is now working as it should.
The last item was causing some problems, it should work now!
Patch 1.0.1.1 Now Live!
Hello everyone!
Here is the patch notes for Patch 1.0.1.1
Patch 1.0.1.1
Issues addressed in this patch
Added a way to change your keybindings
This can be changed in your user settings file That can be found in your %AppData%\ParadoxInteractive\Magicka2
You can get there by pressing Windows button + R and type in %AppData%\ParadoxInteractive\Magicka2
Changing key bindings Keybinding guide can be found in this thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/238370/discussions/0/615085406659895580/
Any text editor will work, but we recommend something like Notepad++.
To change bindings simply:
Find the key you want to change for example
arcane = {
key = "s"
state = "pressed"
}
here you can simply change it to p
arcane = {
key = "p"
state = "pressed"
}
Save the changes.
Start the game and the key should now be bound to the new key.
The settings file changes is our first solution until we have created a ingame interface for it.
Good to know. - There is nothing that prevents binding the same key to multiple inputs.
- No sanity checks (you can bind non-existing keys).
- The padps4 section is not used at all.
- Activate Toggle Magick is not used at all.
- Activate is not used at all.
- Changes in the keybinding won't reflect in the tutorial or ingame HUD.
- Keybindings do not affect the menu, for example you can't rebind pause it will still use the esc key for pausing the game.
- You can always revert to the default setting by removing the keybindings block from the configuration or deleting your whole settings file.
Unable to communicate with Paradox server Fixed some issues that stopped some user from connecting to the paradox servers.
Wrong number of orchestra soundtracks There was a mistake made in the document, there was only 21 tracks recorded for the orchestral versions. We have updated the pdf to reflect this.
Offline play should now work as intended. Some people had crashes/freezes when pressing space bar. We have made changes to how bad connection and offline mode on steam is being handled.
Magicka 2 is HERE! For reals.
We at Paradox Interactive, a publisher of games with its own casting department, just released our next spell casting adventure. Magicka 2, a game titled “Mad Magicks: Fury Robe” at one point (but not now), is available to download and play now on both platforms, enabling would-be Wizards everywhere to play alone or in groups through a new adventure with hundreds of spells and zero vampires.
A new trailer is available today thanks to the sorcery of images that move right before your very eyes:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWVaIE3HUXY
“For so many of our fans, Paradox and Magicka are practically synonymous,” said Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive, not a vampire. “Which is strange, because the two words don’t mean the same thing at all, and our company is not populated by terrifying and irresponsible misanthropes who are constantly liquefying each other with fire-infused beams of pure death. However, it is still a wonderful milestone for us all to share the next chapter of our best-selling series with the world, and to publish our first game on the PlayStation 4. Magicka 2 is the perfect game to play together on the couch in front of a big screen, where you’re always within reach of the friend causing all of those friendly-fire ‘accidents.’”
Magicka 2 brings players back to the world’s most irreverent co-op action adventure series, providing all-new game features alongside the original’s iconic spellcasting system, humor, and always-on friendly-fire. Guided by Vlad, up to four Wizards at once can challenge a series of new levels in a co-op campaign, or take on challenge levels for score, prestige, and game-altering ‘artifacts’ that alter Magicka 2 in strange and wonderful ways. The world is invited to put on their robes and wizard hats, invite their friends, and learn to spell all over again.
Best of luck, Wizards!
Regards,
The Magicka 2 Team
