- Fix a bug where the Result UI where freezing at the end of the level
Today's the day!
It has now been almost 7 months since we started working on Magnet Crusher.
7 months during which we poured our energy and our passion, trying to turn what was once a simple idea about an original gameplay into a fully-fledged gaming experience. And today's the day you all can see the result. MAGNET CRUSHER is now available on Steam, and for free on Android and iOS.
When we decided to start ToccGames, my brother and I wanted to create fun and unique games. Without any experience in the gaming industry, with barely any prior knowledge, only pushed by the same thing we all have here: the love for games.
MAGNET CRUSHER is our first decent-sized game, and to say this was not a stroll in the park would be an understatement. Cross-progression, UI designed for mobile, keyboard and controller, online ranking, Twitch integration, and, obviously, making the game as fun as possible. All these obstacles and challenges we had to solve allowed us to grow and learn as game creators. And to finally see our efforts come to fruition, to finally be able to show you something we can be proud of is very exciting (and also a bit scary).
So, to those who supported us, thank you for your patience and for sticking with us. For those who are about to play MAGNET CRUSHER, we hope you enjoy the game as much as we do. See you soon!
DEVLOG HOUR 2046: Woah more than 2000 hours of work now, time to promote!

How are you? On our side it was a nice week, we got some feedback on the game which will help us to improve it. Do not hesitate to come here or on Steam to comment and give feedback it is always appreciated.
So what did we do last week, I can say it quick, we promote, promote and promote Magnet Crusher. I spend the whole week reaching press media one by one and sending the steam key. The goal behind it is to get some coverage on the release date of the 6th of April.
Apart from that, we make a lot of improvements and small bug fixing, so I will not go deep into details.
But what was interesting and that we did a lot of playtesting too, on the Twitch mode, on the adventure mode, and so on.
We completely review the difficulty curve of the game which is now slightly more difficult when you are approaching the end of the adventure mode.
I think that is all that needs to be said, to sum up, the previous week.

It is now more than 2000 hours of work that we are working on Magnet Crusher, which sounds awesome to me. I will provide more stats data in future news when the game will be finally out ^^.

DEVLOG HOUR 1965: Marketing time time time! Twitch mode improvement

How are you this week?
On our side the last week was still a very busy one. We improved a lot our game with some visual aspects (level display in the background).
We also decided to rework the home menu of the Arcade menu. Before you land on a page where you were able to select and assign your powers. Now you land on a similar page as the survival menu.
And we are now 16 days away from the Magnet Crusher release on the 6th of April.
we are between fear and excitement. Anyway, it was and is still an incredible project that we are proud of we have done.
So this new week starting will be focused on marketing and fixing issues on the game. Yes, it is now time to show the game to the most possible people.

DEVLOG HOUR 1874: Big week and survival mode for streamer

This last week was for sure our biggest week in terms of work. We were able to add a new and last game mode into Magnet Crusher. Let me present you the survival mode:
The survival mode is a game mode where you have to survive the longest time possible. Your rank will be done from the score but enemies will be more and more numerous and dangerous.
As long as your score is increasing, you will reach a new survival level which offers you the possibility to choose a bonus. I will not give you more information and let you discover the game mode.
One big thing coming with this new game mode is the mode for streamers. We added to this mode the possibility to connect your twitch account to allow your viewers to interact with your game.
Your viewer can help you or completely make your game harder. But finally, when the game ends you will know who was real support or not at all with a viewer leaderboard.
There are also streamer-specific leaderboards to check how you performed.

DEVLOG HOUR 1766: Survival mode ongoing

J - 30 before the release of Magnet Crusher. The counter is going down and excitement is rising.
We still have the last thing to add to the game and it is something that we talked a bit about on Twitch.
This mode will be a brand new way of playing Magnet Crusher with another objective. Now you will have to survive as long as possible.
And this mode will welcome a connection with Twitch in order to allow streamers to play by interacting with their viewers.
We will share mode information in the following days about this new game mode.
Another big achievement we were able to reach, is that we succeed in porting the game to IOS.
So for the release on the 6th of April, the game will be available on Steam, PlayStore for Android, and AppStore for IOS.
Now we only have 30 days to complete and fix the last bugs of the game. In the meantime, we will start pushing our communication with the press and influencers.

DEVLOG HOUR 1687: Release approaching

How are you these days?
On our side the last week was a tough and busy week, but we were able to reach nearly all our goals.
And to start, let's talk about the great news, the Magnet Crusher demo is out and everyone can test it on Steam.

This was a great achievement for us. Being able to see players playing Magnet Crusher was cool and we already have found some improvement to be made.
We are also working on making the Magnet Crusher soundtracks available on Steam and streaming platforms like Spotify. This requires a little more time but will be available soon.
And finally, the Magnet Crusher trailer will be revealed tomorrow. We worked a lot on it and we think it shows how our arcade game is intense and fun.

We are focusing on 4 subjects for the last weeks:
The survival mode
The survival streamer mode (Twitch)
The IOS portage
Polish, polish, bug fixes, polish, polish
So we are busy as hell but we really think we will be able to achieve it and release the game as expected on 6 April 2020.

DEVLOG HOUR 1603: Demo and Trailer

I hope everyone is doing good.
Let's start with a short update on how things are moving for our small team and our game Magnet Crusher:
I think we can say that we are starting to the end of the tunnel, it is a french expression but I do not know if everyone can understand it properly ^^.
Anyway, these past days we had improved a lot of small aspects of the game and fixed a lot of small bugs. So we can now say that the game is playable completely even if we have still some updates to make to push it a little bit forward.
We added an animated background to make the game more attractive even when there are not so many enemies.
The UI has been improved also, with the new HP bar and a new power button more visible.
We also improved the power of visual effects with new animation and VFX, feedbacks are now a lot more visible.
And finally the big news: we started to work on our release trailer and our demo version.
Both will be available for the next devlog so for the end of the week. We'll see if we can get some feedback from you, players.

DEVLOG HOUR 1515: Final rush

It is a pleasure to give you news after these two weeks of break and rest. We are now ready to complete the game for the release still planned for the end of March.
These days with Turnip we focus on bug solving and polish and I think we can say that we are aligned to deliver a demo / playtest / beta mobile version for the end of our current sprint, I mean the end of February.
On my side, I spent time making the game available for low-end mobile devices. This required some adjustment in terms of performance. More precisely I needed to turn off some post-process effect for very low-end devices.
We also rework a bit the sound design of the game to make them less high frequency (on the very good advice of one of our viewers on Twitch https://www.twitch.tv/toccgameslive)
The rest of the time I barely fixed the main bugs which were preventing the game to be playable (I guess it was important ^^.
Turnip completed the skin list and we finally have our animated skins ^^. Take a look at some of them :
I really think these skins are cool ^^. You will have to play to check all others.
We still have a lot of work to do but we are approaching the result and we are proud of what we make. The wait is almost over for those who would like to test Magnet Crusher on Pc or Mobile. We hope you will enjoy it and if not share your feedback.
