The next few days are going to be really special for us, as we’ve teamed-up with the amazing folks from One Gamer Fund and have put our entire library of Good Shepherd Entertainment published titles on sale for the lowest prices each respective title has ever been available for here on Steam to benefit the One Gamer Fund during its inaugural charity weekend.
The One Gamer Fund is a new philanthropic initiative comprised of seven gaming nonprofits: AbleGamers, Child’s Play, Games for Change, Global Game Jam, the IGDA Foundation, Stack-Up and Take This. Between 10 a.m. PT on Sept. 21 to 10 a.m. PT on Sept. 25, half of all proceeds generated by purchases of Good Shepherd games after Steam’s share of revenue is factored will be donated directly to the IGDA Foundation on behalf of the One Gamer Fund and subsequently dispersed among all partnering nonprofits.
This is not all though! We’ve also just launched a special new Good Shepherd Entertainment Bundle to coincide with this sale. This bundle will allow those whom already own some of our games to easily complete their set at a special additional 25% discount! This means that you can add even more gaming goodness to life whilst helping these seven amazing charities and causes.
A number of Twitch personalities will also be hosting special streams to aid the One Gamer Fund throughout the weekend. Individuals can learn more about ways to participate by visiting www.OneGamerFund.org and following @OneGamerFund on Twitter.
We can’t tell you guys how much this sales means to us and how proud we are to be a small part of helping these amazing causes. None of this would be possible without all of your help though, so on behalf of everyone involved in this benefit sale, we just wanted to say thank you very much for your continued support!
Here’s to the power of gaming!
Greetings,
The Good Shepherd Team
Our next game is up on Greenlight!
For us here at Guru Games the journey with Magnetic began almost 3 years ago. Since then we have made a lot of improvements and changes from that first concept, taking it from a small concept into something that actually won Sweden Game awards back in 2014 and then ended up here on Steam.
Since we launched Magnetic back in may we have been super busy with fixing the XBox One version, creating challenge maps for the free DLC and getting the game on different sales and promotions. We have our ups and down, but overall we are happy with the game and really hope that you are to.
Now, at the end of the year, we are preparing for the next step, and that step is right now on Steam Greenlight awaiting your feedback and hopefully, approval. It would mean the world to us if you would check it out and vote for us!
You can find it here. Happy holidays from us here at Guru Games to you out here on the interwebz. May the (Magnetic) force be with you!
Last week of October sale!
We don't you how you feel about it, but here at Guru Games we are excited about Halloween! Costumes, candy and horror in a big glorious mix! ːsteamhappyː
To celebrate this event we decided to put the game on sale so that more people have a chance to try Magnetic and get full access to the Collector's Edition as well. Now, we could not just stop there, we had to make something special to commemorate our first Halloween with a game out, so to promote the sale our 2D-artist made this awesome artwork!
Five Free Delightfully Frustrating Challenge Maps For the Fans!
Since we launched Magnetic back in May, there has been plenty of people demanding new content for the game. Some wanted ports to other platforms, whilst others wanted different types of guns. However the thing that people have been requesting the most, is more difficult puzzles and bigger levels which are not as “boxed in” (pun totally and completely intended) as those found in the original game.
We’re proud to report that we have listened to these requests, and as per usual we might have even taken it a bit too far. We decided to unleash all of the pent-up sadistic creativity that we’ve been safely containing in the studio, and just let people go crazy with the level design. The result? These Five completely unique challenge maps that even hardcore puzzle fans will have trouble with:
Adventure: A puzzle-focused map where fans of Magnetic will have to think carefully about how to use the resources at hand.
Equation: The Curiatis policy is ”No Box Left Behind”. Equation embodies that concept while giving players some new ways of using the gun in the process.
Gauntlet: Each section is harder than the one that came before it. Timing and lots of patience are the keys to getting through the Gauntlet. It’s probably the most difficult in the bunch.
Sequence: One step forward, five steps back.
Twister: Twister will take you on a ride, soaring through the air. If trickjumping in spirals sounds like your cup of tea, then you may have found your dream map.
This is what you get, and all of it is available now as a free DLC-package. Once downloaded, these new maps can be found under the “Time Trial”-section, after all the regular levels under the “Challenge” section. Did we mention they are delightfully frustrating? Thought so.
Magnetic on Xbox One and new content incoming!
To celebrate our impending console release on Xbox we have created a number of new and very difficult challenge maps. This will be a free content pack and it is in the process of being packaged, fine-tuned and polished for all of you. Expect it to ready for release in just a few weeks!
As some of you might remember we asked for playtesters recently for our new challenge maps. Our call for help was answered and soon these new maps will be ready for you to dive in and try your skills. These maps have been specifically designed to be really tough, some with a more puzzle-focused approach and others with a more trickjumping-oriented style. Both have been on high demand from you guys, and we have been listening to your feedback.
We are really looking forward to seeing you try out the new stuff and hope that you enjoy the challenge. Let us know what you think of the new maps when we launch!
For those of you who have been waiting to play the game on console we are also happy to announce that the two first challenge maps from our collector’s edition will be included in the package, free of charge.
Have a great week and, as always, thanks for playing our game.
Take care!

MORAL-PUZZLER MAGNETIC: CAGE CLOSED ATTRACTS YOU TO STEAM ON MAY 26
- Welcome to Facility 7, Prisoner –
Austin, Texas – May 13, 2015 - Magnetic: Cage Closed drew fans in with its gameplay debut at PAX South earlier this year, and now the enigmatic puzzle game will drop gamers into a sinister world of survival, guilt and platforming action for PCs on May 26. The game will be available for $14.99 and in a special Collector's Edition for $19.99. However players can also Pre-Order the game now and receive a special 10% discount.
Hailed as "memorable", "rewarding" and "a step forward in the genre" in top media previews, the title boasts countless puzzles to solve and a branching storyline – meaning that each playthrough will offer the player brand new things to explore. Magnetic: Cage Closed also features a unique blend of platforming and puzzle gameplay, adding a second twist to the genre.
Published by Gambitious Digital Entertainment and developed by the inquisitive minds at Guru Games, Magnetic drops players into the role of a prisoner serving time for past crimes in a vast, ever-changing prison with chambers that shift in random patterns. The title boasts innovative use of real-life magnetic properties to bring players realistic magnetism-fueled platforming, allowing players the ability to push, pull, slow down or speed up their movement through a series of increasingly complex puzzles.
Rocking a special magnetic gun, players are encouraged and pushed on by a sadistic warden controlling the complex. By manipulating and mastering magnetic forces, they must find a way out – but no choice is without consequence in Facility 7. In Magnetic each chamber offers a unique challenge, ranging from classic puzzles to moral choices.
