Mainlining is a refreshing take on the traditional point and click adventure. The entire game takes place on the simulated desktop of the protagonist’s computer. Assuming the role of a newly recruited MI7 agent and working within the remit of the Blu Pill Act, the player must use their cunningness, judgement and skill to gather evidence by hacking suspects’ computers and phones.

Updates and Fixes
It seems that you’re having fun with the Mainlining experience but it hasn’t gone unnoticed that some of you are encountering a few issues. These are being addressed as quickly as we can get to them with new builds being posted onto Steam on a regular basis.
So far the following issues have been fixed.
The game options now save correctly.
Fixed crash when reopening the map
Fixed crash downloading a file from Phil Stern’s machine.
Corrected a crash when logging into skybox
Addressed a crash when using the arrest window
Corrected one of Phil Stern’s text files that appears on philhippic.bp.
Repaired a story prompt the failed to go off in the third case.
Fixed an issue that saw some players being able to jump to an OSs early if they clicked the far-right pixel.
Stopped players being able to access the eight case early.
Updated newspaper text that was grabbing wrong the incorrect string.
The following issues have also been reported and are currently being worked on. Updates will be pushed as they are addressed and fixed.
The scroll bars in the messaging windows of the Peyotex OS work incorrectly and users need to use their mouse-wheel to be able to scroll and read the text (this seems to occur mainly with laptop users).
Some windows have depth issues causing the user to be able to click through them.
Tabbing out and back into the game causes an intermittent screen glitch (white flashing) for some users.
Thanks for your patience.
Prepare for cases eight to thirteen, coming this week.
Operatives
Thank you for your vigilance and efforts in convicting the likes of Muscleboy81 and Budblaze, your input has invaluable in making the internet a safer place. However, there is still much to achieve and we will need to use your unique skills once more. Your work as an MI7 operative gives us confidence we will discover the mastermind at the top of this tangled web. Please stand by as the final set of cases (eight to thirteen) unlock later this week.
Your system will update itself as the cases come online around 18.00 Zulu Time on Thursday, February 2nd.
Thank you...
Mainlining OUT NOW. Play case one and two for FREE.
Today marks the release of the point and click hacking adventure, Mainlining, and you can play the first two cases for FREE (download the demo). If you’re one of the 70k who have already enjoyed the first two cases, you’ll be pleased to know that you can now experience cases three to seven – the save game from the demo carries over too!
We decided to follow in the footsteps of the thrilling surveillance game, Orwell, and release the game’s cases over a couple of weeks. As showman P.T. Barnum once said, “always leave them wanting more…”, luckily you’ll only have to wait a week until Thursday, February 2nd before you can get your hands on cases eight through to thirteen.
Mac and Linux users will be pleased to know that Thursday, February 2nd will also see the release of Mainlining for those systems too – not long to wait guys.
You may have noticed that a Deluxe version of Mainlining is available. For the record, it contains the game, a cool digital art book featuring some of Dave Grey’s superb pixel art and a digital copy of the games’ awesome soundtrack, composed by Telltale Games’ very own Jared Emerson-Johnson.
Mainlining has been very well received, just this morning the game scored an impressive 9/10 from Kinsey Danzis On Gaming Nexus in a review that commented, “…I've never had so much fun with a point and click game before.” We’ve also been enjoying watching Mainlining being played on Twitch and YouTube. So far I’ve got to say that the Yogscast’s very own Turpster has been our favourite, surely it won’t be long until he gets a job offer from the British Secret Service?
To end I'd like to say a big thank you to Mainlining’s creator, the inimitable Sam Read, and to the other Rebelephant collaborators. Sam (samread) lurks on this forum so please feel free to reach out and let him know your experiences with Mainlining.
