We had a blast developing Maize, and one of our favourite parts of that experience was creating the music. We worked with our friends at The Eggplant Collective, who did an outstanding job crafting a score that perfectly complemented our game, along with a couple of singles that we still can't get out of our head.
And, to our excitement, you guys are enjoying the soundtrack as much as we are! We've fielded many requests from people asking if they can buy the soundtrack.
Well, starting today, you can, because the Maize Original Soundtrack is now available on Steam!
We hope you enjoy it, and that you get minimal stares when you start humming the "Top Secret" lyrics on your commute!

You can now play Maize with a controller!
Hey everyone! Maize's first update is upon us! And we're very happy to report that you can now play Maize with a controller!
Partial Xbox Controller support has been added to the game, along with a few other adjustements. You still need to use the mouse to navigate Maize's menus, but the game itself is fully controller-ready now.
On top of that, we've added some controls options for both Mouse/Keyboard and Controller setups. On the mouse side, you can invert your mouse Y-axis, adjust sensitivity and smoothing. For the controller, you can adjust look sensitivity and invert the Y-axis.
Along with this, we've listened to your feedback and lowered the motion blur effect, and we're also investigating a way to adjust that easily with a slider in the menu screen. For now, we've posted a workaround in our Steam Forum that will specifically adjust it.
We wanted to get this update to you as quickly as we could, so we don't have a Controls Screen implemented yet. Because of this, we're posting the game controls below. The gamepad Controls Screen should be in the next update.
Hope you enjoy it, and thanks for all the kind words of support! We're really happy that so many people are enjoying the silly game we made.

Maize has officially launched!!
Hey guys, it seems a bit surreal to be saying this, but Maize is out. It’s out right now. As a video game.
It’s been such a long winding road, as it normally is with game dev. I had no idea what we were in for when my co-lead in this madness showed me a 4-line note about corn that are “alive” and “move and s***” during a hungover brunch two years ago.
But now, we’re here, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we made. We were spoiled with the talent on our team, and with everyone who helped us bring this ridiculous thing into reality.
And now, we pass it on to you. Hope you enjoy this silly little thing we made. To get into the holiday spirit, we’re also offering a launch discount.
Also, enjoy our brand new launch trailer, which is as ridiculous as the game itself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJLKR_Brn74
To everyone who has already sent a ton of positive vibes, we thank you.
Enjoy your walk through the stalks. Also, mind the Russian robot bear. He’s grumpy.

Maize coming to PC on Dec. 1!
The big announcement is here, and the video game world will never be the same after the start of December. Because there will be sentient corn.
Maize is launching on PC on Dec. 1, 2016!
After that date, anyone on the platform will be able to find out what happens when two researchers misinterpret a government memo and create sentient corn. It’s even more ridiculous than it sounds. Also, there is a Russian robot bear. So there you go.
Speaking of Russian robot bears, here’s our launch trailer, which will help you get to know Vladdy a bit better:
Maize will be launched at a retail price of $19.99 USD.
Maize is making an appearance at Day of the Devs
Hey! Remember yesterday when we said we’d be posting news here now? Well, here’s some!
If you are anywhere near San Francisco on Nov. 5, and think you may be interested in media involving Russian robot bears and sentient corn, you may want to head down to The Midway.
Because we are very happy to announce that Maize will be part of the lineup for Double Fine and iam8bit’s Day of the Devs event in San Francisco on Nov. 5!
We’ll be showcasing a demo of the early portion of the game, and Game Co-Directors Daniel Posner and Brandon Hicks will be on hand to answer any burning questions you may have. Questions like “Why?” and “No, seriously, why?”
The event is being held at The Midway, and admission is free. You can check out the absolutely fantastic lineup and RSVP on the Day of the Devs website.
If you happen to like video games a tad, you most definitely need to get there. We will be posting more details as we get closer to that weekend.

A Hello from Finish Line Games
Hello, and welcome to our Steam Page! To answer the most pressing questions: Yes, this game is about sentient corn, and No, we don’t really know how it happened either.
Now that those are out of the way, a little bit about us: we’re Finish Line Games, a small studio in Toronto that has a mixture of veteran developers and talented newcomers all united by one thing: being ridiculous. To that end, I think we have succeeded beyond any reasonable metric, for better or worse, and will make people more aware of the plight of Russian robot bears.
Now that we’re moving closer to completing development (more info on that will be coming soon), we’re going to be more active on this hub. It is most definitely not because we just realized we HAD a hub and it was devoid of information.
We’ll be posting major news updates here and support-related inquiries, along with answering any questions you guys may have.
For daily updates that are less newsworthy (think Photoshopped pictures of Vladdy in Drake’s music videos), you can follow us on Twitter. We also post major announcements on our Facebook page, and have a Newsletter you can sign up for.
Thanks very much for your support so far. We’re pretty excited to get this into your hands!
