Sorry I've been quiet

Hi all, I'm so sorry I've been quiet lately. Unfortunately, my little dog and best friend, Evie, passed away recently and it's hit me fairly hard. She's been my closest friend for such a large portion of my life that I've been finding it hard to form new habits and concentrate.

I'll be back on the horse very soon, though, with more updates. Hug your furry friends close today.

Minor Update released!

Hi all! While I'm here plugging away on optimisations, the test team alerted me to a couple of fairly noticeable issues surrounding the quest system in the last release, so I took some time to sort them out with their help and I've got a new update for you so that you don't have to deal with those issues (and I'm sorry if you already had been)

So it's only a small update, but the issues that were happening were fairly severe and they've now been fixed:

- When accepting a new quest in town, it would wipe your map of all known locations, which I've fixed.
- Fixed a fairly significant memory leak in the gryphon travel system which was leading to hard crashes.
- Banks weren't showing weapon and armour stats correctly, so that's been fixed.
- Once you've had a quest location revealed, it'll no longer show up in the list of places you can ask NPCs about.

Research research research

I know this is a SUPER short update, but ALL of my work on the game lately has been surrounding optimization, and my first point of focus is getting the game's load times down.

So I've been doing lots of interesting research into doing just that, and I've been restructuring my load systems to accommodate for my findings. Still a long way to go, but boy have I been making some pretty extreme progress. Not really something that's effective to show in a video, since everyone's systems are super different (and mine is fairly beastly anyway) but in short, it should show some serious improvement for you all once I get this stable enough to launch!

So basically just letting you know I'm not dead, but I've been quiet because I've been basically head-down-bum-up working on this one thing, getting it right. It's required a lot of boring code re-writing - man, some of the code I wrote back in the day.... I have no idea what I was smoking at the time lol

Sorry for the delay. I'm back now and with news!

Hi all! I'll be doing a video update soon, but I figured I'd let you know why I've been quiet a while. Some of you may have known that my grandfather was quite ill and needed heart surgery, and I've been taking care of him these past few weeks interstate.

I did, however, take my laptop with me and was working :P just unable to post updates due to the remoteness of my location.

Myself and the test team are actually closing in on having an end-of-year public build ready to send out to everyone (just a handful of things left to iron out) and so you'll be seeing that very soon, along with one of my customary video updates to go along with it :)

A big thanks to everyone who sent well-wishes to myself and my grandfather. He's actually recovered REALLY well, which is fantastic. Big compliments to his surgeon, but also my grandad himself for being so fit and healthy that he can go through something like that and come out the other side in such good shape!

To those asking

Thanks all for the well wishes you've all sent while I've been ill. I took the weekend to rest properly and I've been feeling a lot like myself. I'm down to just a runny nose now, so I think it did me good.

Boy, did it take it out of me, though! Whatever that virus was, it was nasty!

Well, break's over now. Back to work!

Sorry that I've been quiet lately guys. I've come down with a stomach virus from hell. I'm the sickest I've been in a looooong time, but I've had it for a few days now so surely it can't last much longer...
