'Spring Outbreak' Update
"Spring Outbreak" Update for Market Dominion is a huge update, including quite huge changes in events and map mechanics! This version, also known as 1.03. Update includes some interesting stuff!
MAP CHANGES
Map has changed! Until now, there was only one map type: the plain, very basic map. Now, there was another map type added. It looks a bit... different. Fancy, to be exact! You can see it yourself underneath. Both of those map types also received a "cycled" version of it, where map slowly changes into more "darker" scenario. In total, there are 4 map types now, which you can set up in the options.
EVENTS
Events! Events has changed! Now, the game has almost 50 new events with new, unique theme. The events' topics are mostly based around various epidemics and economic crisis that happened around the world throughout the time of the game. It also includes several smaller, social events, as well as some symbollic ones. The reasoning behind it is to put the player on more dangerous path, forcing him to always have a back up plan if something doesn't go his way. In summary, game is more surprising now! Those events are also expected to raise awareness how some of the events might be destructive for humanity. Some of the events included are: - cholera pandemic, - Swine Flu pandemic, - COVID-19 pandemic, - Green New Deal, - 2008 Crisis, - Hong Kong Transfer, - series of events about population rise. Full list will be available soon on Gamepedia.
BUGFIXES
We fixed several bugs that were showing up, such as: - inproper setup of 'Colours Mode' option (the option would reset upon relaunching the game) - in the late-game random events about cargo transport were simply "unavailable", as the game run out of places to send player to. It was patched - now player receives 0,5% Market Share whenever there are no states left to go to.
CHANGES - FULL LIST
added map types,
added cycled map modes, where map changes over time,
added new series of 41 events (full list available on Gamepedia),
Colours Mode Option did not save up properly in game options,
added Map Type Option,
fixed a bug with unavailable random cargo events,
cosmetic changes to XML files,
cosmetic changes to language files.
1.02.4 Market Dominion Update
Hello CEOs!
It is time for a bit bigger Market Dominion update. We have made several crucial changes and we released them as an update for the game now. What exactly has changed?
DLC Menu
Downloadable Content menu has changed. From now it is... more pleasing to look at, as well as it is more functional. We have introduced new mechanics to handle the DLCs, to have everything ready for upcoming DLCs. Other than that, we changed the way this menu works. If you want to have a closer look and read more about it, you should look at the most recent 'Dev Minutes' post here.
Colours Mechanics
We have also changed the colours mechanics. We have changed the colours available in the palette, as well as expanded it from 12 to 24 colours. New colours are not available in the standard game type though, they are reserved for something else. We have added colours modes as well. From now, you can pick a colour mode in which you'll play. You can change it and it will still change in your past saves (it might have some issues with older saves though). The standard palette is available as default, but you can also pick "Vision Defect" mode, which decreases the alpha value change on the map throughout the game, so you have less details to register. It is mainly for people who care about the visibility in the game more as well as might have some issues to view the standard colours mode. There is also "Deuteranomaly" mode which not only includes the "Vision Defect" mode in it, but also has a new colour palette, designed in a way, that people with deuteranomaly colourblindness can see the map and tell the companies apart easier. You can read more about it in previous 'Dev Minutes' here.
That would be mainly it for this update, stay tuned for more!
Last Penny DLC
The Cold war quietly rages on around the world as tensions rise between states. During these turbulent times, you are tasked as the CEO of a new, enterprising company. Can you overcome obstacles to become... THE LAST MAN STANDING IN THE BIG MONOPOLY YOU WILL CREATE? Welcome to Market Dominion - Last Penny, a casual business simulation indie game, which gets only harder with time!
Last Penny is the DLC which includes Battle Royale mode into the game! From now on, you and 23 opponents will be able to battle off all the issues and fight until there is only one man left. Play one of the new modes and mixed modes to see the real challenge!
In the Last Penny DLC we are focusing on a fight between players. Battle royale allows it the best. We have decided to create 7 new modes for Battle Royale in Market Dominion. One of them is 'Shrinkage' - a mode where states disappear overtime Any Market Share gained there is simply gone. You cannot enter the state anymore when it dissapears. The number of states in the game will go down for years, until someone either wins, or there is only one state left. Another possible mode is a 'Region' mode, where you are limited only to a given region. The game limits you to whatever region you have picked - if it's either Europe or Asia, or Australia, you are limited now and have to carefully put your steps! The third standard Battle Royale mode is 'Elimination' mode. From time to time the weakest company will get kicked out of the game. It will continue, until there is only one company left. To be among the best players, you have to keep your Market Share, Deal Power and Money Income high and make sure you do not end up at the end of the list. Always have some tricks up in the sleeve! Other game modes are mixed three standard modes. You can pick anything you wish, mixed any way you like... basically, create your own hell, however you wish.
This, as well as the other DLC, will be released in Q1 2020 (around January/February). Both are free. Get Market Dominion now, during Winter Sale, as there is 15% off for it!

'Global Rivalry' Features
Hello there!
Yes, I know, we've been quiet for quite some time. I am sorry, we are not full time developers, but we love to introduce you to our games and ideas.
But you are here because of the title, aren't you? Even though 'Global Rivalry' is still in work, as November starts, we have ideas for several features that might end up in the game. We are also open for any feedback from you, it is always nice to know what people want to see in the game! Also, stay around for until the end to find out more about... interesting ideas. Anyway, about the features: 1) New companies - that is not a secret, Global Rivalry is all about companies and this update will bring in a lot of new companies. 130 to be exact! Each branch will receive up to 25 companies: 12 from vanilla game and 13 from the DLC. In the next days we will post announcements on these, letting you know which companies you'll be able to play as with the new expansion! 2) Games with up to 25 companies - right now, you can play with maximum 12 companies. The idea is to get up to 25 players on a map. You and 24 AIs... stressful. 3) Custom companies - yup, that is also an idea. We had an idea to have custom companies, so player by himself can pick the name, location and modifier for his company and play as that company! That would be interesting and let the players to make the game even more dynamic and hellish.. 4) New achievements - and achievements in general. Currently we are having issues with getting achievements to work (we will talk about this in next posts), but the idea is to get not only base game achievements, but also some for the DLC. 5) Extra companies mechanics - there are several ideas about that. First of all, companies would be able to go bankrupt and other companies would be able to slowly buy them off. There are several ideas how to expand that, to make the game more interesting - we will talk about it soon, so stay tuned for any new posts!
So, I think that will be it for today's post. I expect more of them in upcoming week though. I want to share more about the ideas. Let us know what do you think! The next post will be about new ideas for Iguana Mercenary in general as series of articles, streaming and more games. Stay tuned... see you soon!
