Marvel's Midnight Suns Out Now!

The time is finally upon us for the Midnight Suns to rise up and save the world from Hydra and Lilith's demonic forces! Marvel's Midnight Suns is now available for Steam.

Set in the darker, supernatural side of the Marvel Universe, Marvel's Midnight Suns is a tactical role-playing game that blends rich storytelling and relationship building with a revolutionary card-based combat system. As the Hunter, the only hero ever to have defeated Lilith eons ago, you get to fight alongside and forge friendships with Blade, Doctor Strange, Nico Minoru, and Spider-Man, as well as other members of The Avengers, X-Men, and Runaways.

Turn-based tactical missions fought on constantly changing battlefields require you to think strategically every step of the way. Whether you're repositioning one of your heroes, playing one of their unique ability cards, or looking for opportunities to use the environment to your advantage, every decision counts. The choices you make when hanging out and chatting with other heroes in and around the Abbey between missions also have consequences, as befriending heroes is a great way to unlock powerful combo abilities and passive bonuses that come into play when you fight alongside them.

From hanging out with iconic Super Heroes in the Abbey to taking on Hydra and the demonic forces of Lilith in tactical combat, there is much to discover in Marvel’s Midnight Suns. We hope you enjoy every minute of your experience with the game!

Watch Nico Tv, The Final Marvel's Midnight Suns Prequel Short

Moving to a new place and making new friends can be tough, even for a powerful witch like Nico Minoru, whose magic abilities make her a great support character during Marvel's Midnight Suns' Tactical Missions. After being recruited to the Midnight Suns by Caretaker several months before the start of the game, 20-year old Nico was eager to befriend her new teammates. Check out the Nico TV Prequel Short below to see how she fared with MagikBladeGhost Rider, and Scarlet Witch.

"Nico went from her role as leader of the Runaways, taking responsibility for a group of people younger than herself, to becoming the newest and youngest member of the Midnight Suns," explains Firaxis Narrative Lead Zach Bush, who authored all five of the Prequel Shorts. "Though she believed in what they were doing, she was a bit out of her depth and felt out of place prior to the events of Nico TV. By the time you meet her at the start of the game, she is very similar to Nico from the comics."

Nico TV is the fifth and last of the Prequel Shorts that set the stage for the opening hours of Marvel's Midnight Suns by explaining how and why this unlikely team of heroes has come together to oppose Lilith. The December 2 release of Marvel's Midnight Suns is now just a few days away, so if you missed any of the Prequel Shorts, now would be a great time to get caught up.

New Marvel's Midnight Suns Prequel Short: The Daywalker

Eric Brooks, better known as Blade to his friends and foes alike, is a half-human, half-vampire hybrid. He has the same superhuman strength, stamina, and senses as the vampires he dedicates his life to hunting, but doesn't share their vulnerability to sunlight. In Marvel's Midnight Suns, Blade trains other heroes for combat in the Yard outside the Abbey, and is a powerful damage-dealer during Tactical Missions. In our latest Prequel Short, we're excited to show you how Blade deals with fang-heads, as well as how he was recruited to the Midnight Suns by Caretaker.

"Our Blade has a long history with Caretaker - or Sara, as he knows her," explains Firaxis Games Narrative Lead Zach Bush, who authored this Prequel Short. "After years of losing himself to the vampiric beast within, Caretaker helped him regain control to become the Blade we know and love (and who vampires fear and hate). She’s one of the few people he respects, and it’s largely because the feeling is mutual."

The Daywalker is the fourth of five Prequel Shorts that explain how and why the Midnight Suns heroes have united to oppose Lilith. Check back next week for the fifth and final Prequel Short, Nico TV, in which we'll hear from the youngest member of the Midnight Suns: Nico Minoru. In the meantime, be sure to catch up on any of the previous Marvel's Midnight Suns Prequel Shorts you might've missed below.

Marvel's Midnight Suns Live Among Legends Live Stream

During a recent livestream, members of the Firaxis development team played through three very different tactical missions and shared a first look at some of the activities you can enjoy in Marvel's Midnight Suns when you're not battling against Lilith's demonic forces. Creative Director Jake Solomon, Senior Franchise Producer Garth DeAngelis, and Senior Producer Rachel Sima covered a lot of features that haven't been discussed previously this time around, so get comfortable and enjoy the archive of the entire livestream below. Note that some characters and skins featured require unlocking via gameplay.

For their first tactical mission, the Firaxis folks chose to team the Hunter up with Blade and Magik. This afforded us an opportunity to learn more about how the Hunter can be customized to use Light abilities, Dark abilities, or some combination of both.

"The Hunter isn't just customizable in terms of their appearance," Jake explained. "They're also customizable in terms of gameplay. The Hunter has over three times as many abilities as the other heroes because we want you to be able to choose how your Hunter plays in combat. The Light branch is more about healing and supporting your squadmates, while the Dark branch is about being very powerful and doing a lot of damage—but at a cost to you and your squadmates."

The other two tactical missions shown included the first reveal of a story mission, the first on-stream Midnight Suns team to include Scarlet Witch, and even an unexpected first look at one of Hydra's deadliest agents. Powerful enemies known as Nest Mothers and the Revenant also made their on-stream debuts, and came dangerously close to beating Garth at his own game on this occasion.

Between missions, we toured different areas of the Abbey and its grounds. So many new features were shown and discussed that you'll need to watch the archive of the stream to learn about all of them. To mention just a few, highlights included using the heroes' Superlink social network, unlocking new abilities at the Forge, painting landscapes with Robbie Reyes, meeting the ghost of Agatha Harkness, and having a conversation about whether Blade has a crush on Captain Marvel that probably could've gone better.

Check back just a few days before the December 2 release of Marvel's Midnight Suns for the next Firaxis live stream. Between seeing the “secret” 13th hero in action for the first time and watching Jake attempt to beat a tactical mission on the hardest difficulty, it's sure to be a good one!

Watch Hell On Wheels, A Marvel's Midnight Suns Prequel Short!

Robbie Reyes is a mechanic who has the ability to transform into Ghost Rider after being possessed by the Spirit of Vengeance. As the primary caregiver for his disabled younger brother, Robbie hadn't encountered many other Super Heroes nor spent much time away from home prior to joining the Midnight Suns. Today, we're excited to share a high-octane introduction to Robbie and a look at how he was recruited to the team in our latest Marvel's Midnight Suns Prequel Short.

"Robbie Reyes of Midnight Suns is very similar to the Robbie you know from the comics," explains Firaxis Games Narrative Lead Zach Bush, who authored this Prequel Short. "He's raising Gabe, his younger brother, and after the struggles he's been through to find some stability, he doesn't want to throw it away for someone else's fight."

Hell on Wheels is the third of five Prequel Shorts that explain how and why the Midnight Suns heroes have united to oppose Lilith. If you missed them, be sure to check out the first Prequel Short, in which we learned of tragic events surrounding the birth of the Hunter; and the second, which shows how Scarlet Witch was able to recruit Magik to the Midnight Suns below. And be on the lookout for next week's Prequel Short featuring Blade: The Daywalker.
