The trek task involves walking or running a certain distance in a given area within the deadline of the intention.

  • Now you can customize the key bindings for quick emote keys (0-9 by default) in the settings view.
  • The distance of the sense mode has been slightly increased:
    Collectable 20m (unchanged)
    Food 30m -> 50m
    Animal 50m -> 80m

Introducing: Intentions


MEADOW INTENTIONS RELEASE



Introducing Intentions, a new feature intended both to give guidance to new players, and new things to do for seasoned Meadovians.

“Meadow is an open-concept experience by nature, allowing the player to shape it any way they want. However, from time to time we were receiving feedback, especially from new players, that sometimes they find themselves looking for guidance and a goal to pursue when they launch the game. To make them feel included, we came up with Intentions.

Intentions are our way to give you a spark of inspiration. A task to follow if you are looking for one, both short and long term – together with other players, or solo. You are rewarded for your efforts and the time you put into them, but the journey itself shall be a reward as well. That is why the tasks are focused on exploration and discovery, which have always been the foundation of the game, along with non-verbal communication.

We hope that Intentions will enrich your gameplay and you will enjoy them as much as we enjoyed creating them.”

Check the daily, weekly and monthly intentions in the Journal view. Complete an intention to earn a reward!

  • The daily intention will be refreshed at 10:00 am (CET) every day.
  • The weekly intention will be refreshed at 10:00 am (CET) every Monday.
  • The monthly intention will be refreshed at 10:00 am (CET) on the 1st of each month.

Each intention contains 1~2 tasks. Completing an intention requires completing all of its tasks. Currently, there are 3 types of tasks:

Collect



The collect task requires a certain number of flowers, fungi, puzzle pieces, etc. to be collected within the deadline of the intention.

Eat



The eat task requires a certain number of fruits to be eaten within the deadline of the intention.

Enter



The enter task requires entering a certain number of leaf piles, mud puddles, etc. within the deadline of the intention.

NOTE! Repeatedly entering the same area in one session will not increase the count of enter task.


Fixes


  • Fixed the bug that the player could eat fruit while sleeping.

Other Updates


  • Repeatedly entering the same leaf pile/snow pile/lotus leaf in one session will no longer increase the count of the achievement jump into leaf pile/snow pile/lotus leaf.

Live Update, July 4 2024 – Fixes and updates

Fixes



  • Fixed the bug that some fruits would be generated overlappingly.
  • Fixed the bug that the essence would not be added sometimes when eating a fruit.
  • Fixed the bug that the recovery time for smoke mushrooms, leaf piles and snow piles is uncertain. They are now uniformly adjusted to 30 seconds to recover.
  • Fixed the bug that if you hide the game UI with the gamepad while opening the Quick Selection Wheel (hold down RB and then press LB), the hiding process will continue to execute.
  • The scaling of the home icon on the minimap and the map now looks normal.

  • Meadow supports ultra-wide screen now (only for full screen mode)! If it doesn’t work, please go to Settings > Graphics, disable full screen and re-enable it.
  • It is not able to change resolution in the full screen mode now.
  • The camera height is now saved between sessions for each animal separately.
  • The camera distance is now saved between sessions for each animal separately.
  • Some of the UI designs have been updated.
  • The icon of essence has been changed to a new design.

World Giraffe Day in Meadow

Hello,



If you've been following our activity this lately you might have noticed that we like highlighting special animal days within our game. This time it's the giraffe's time to shine, as June 21 is World Giraffe Day! You can go to this link to learn more about these gentle giants, and how you can make a difference in the conservation efforts to bolster their numbers - because sadly they aren't doing great.

We don't have playable giraffes in Meadow, but we do have goats with giraffe skins! So starting 00:01 tomorrow, running until 23:59 CEST, we'll unlock the playable Goat along with its Giraffe skin for everyone.

Be a "giraffe", talk to your friends and families about the challenges they face and be good people. We wish you a nice weekend!

International Lynx Day in Meadow

Hello,



We here at Might and Delight are very fond of cats, and the lynx in particular holds a special place in our hearts. Tomorrow, June 11, is International Lynx Day and we'll celebrate by unlocking the playable Lynx in Meadow for everyone between 00:01 and 23:59 CEST.

We've been in love with these animals since we decided that the sequel to Shelter would feature a family of them and we think that might have rubbed off on you too. So we're looking forward to seeing a lot of lynxes online tomorrow!

World Parrot Day in Meadow
Hello,

On May 31 bird enthusiasts everywhere celebrate World Parrot Day and obviously we're going to as well! So, between from 12:00 CEST today, running for 24 hours, we will let everyone play as the Eagle with its Scarlet Macaw skin.

Here's some fun stuff about the Scarlet Macaw:

The scarlet macaw is a gorgeous kind of parrot that you might envision sitting on the shoulder of an archetypal pirate. In the wild, their life span is 40-50 years on average, but they’ve been known to live up to a staggering 90 years in captivity! The scarlet macaw is easily identified by its vibrant red body and the strikingly blue wings and is probably what most of us imagine when we hear the word parrot. And that beak is not a joke, as it can snap a broomstick in half, allegedly. Not putting my finger in there, that’s for sure. Not to worry though, there’s no biting allowed in Meadow.

Meadow Update, May 17 2024

News




  • The camera value (distance from animal) is now saved between sessions.
  • The distances of detection in sense mode have been adjusted to make it less sensitive.


Fixes




  • Sense mode and peeking names are working stably now.
  • The counter of players in the groves is now fixed and refreshes every 5 seconds.
  • Essence reward for collecting crystals is now calculated properly.
  • Waterfall in the jungle is back to being its regular, non-glitchy, majestic self.
  • Cave rocks and ponds are looking normal again.
  • When you hide the in-game UI you can still move the cursor outside of the game now.
  • You can no longer spam actions (that resulted in glitches in the past).
  • Every time you use and emote/special/action the sleep action timer resets now.
  • If you cancel your hedgehog roll by pressing the play action your movement speed will reset to your previous movement state now.
  • Hedgehogs are not puppet masters anymore - If you use the play action as a hedgehog, other hedgehogs don’t automatically roll into a ball.
  • The game is not locked when you go from the leaderboard to enter game in the Den anymore.
  • Pheasant and bear cub can wave while sitting without delay now.
  • Nodding by moving the camera up and down is not triggered too easily anymore.

Play With the Devs: Endangered Species Day 2024

How are you all doing? This Friday is Endangered Species Day. This happens every year on the third Friday of May, which happens to be May 17 this year. This is all about celebrating saving animal species that are on the cusp of becoming extinct. You can read more right here.

At MaD we're hosting a Play With the Devs event for this special occasion between 15:00 and 16:00 CEST (9AM to 10AM EST. We'll be on the Europe server on Groves 5 and 6, most likely meeting up at the central tree.

Bird Day in Meadow

Hello,



May the 4th might be most known for being the day that we dress up as space wizards wielding laser swords - but the almighty mouse doesn't hold a monopoly on this day, for this day is also Bird Day.

This means that everyone will be able to play as the Eagle and the Pheasant in Meadow from 00:01 to 23:59 GMT-9 (11:01-10:59 CEST).

Why the change in timezones? Well, because our community manager had a moment of confusion regarding what days yesterday's event (Leopard and Koala Day) was supposed to happen - which resulted in this announcement being late. Since Bird Day follows that event we felt we had to push Bird Day ahead a few hours too. So, we’re fixing the loss of those precious hours on your end by offsetting appropriately. This person has also been sent to LBCAT camp (“Learn Basic Calendar and Time”) so that this won’t happen again. He reports that he’s being fed adequately and that his studies have been “eye opening”.

Anyway, we expect to see you all spread your wings this fine Saturday! See you in the skies.
