A rumbling echo accompanied your footsteps as you stepped carefully inside the deserted city cathedral. The smell of incense failed to mask the strange odor originating directly in front of you.
A feminine, demonic figure stared into your eyes. Hatred it emanated was undoubtedly frenzied, but at the same time, full of eerie intelligence.
With an inhuman, lacking-any-hesitation movement, the figure swung to attack. The swishing blows of the axe cut through the air unbelievably fast, forcing you to dodge at lightning speed. You knew this battle was the ultimate test for your body and mind - all the previous fights had given you the experience needed to prevail. There was no room for the slightest mistake, as not only your life was at stake, but your soul as well.
Before your eyes stood the memory of the immense amount of work necessary to now meet the monster face to face. It all started with the rumors circulating in Washagami that shrill screams would come out of the church at night. Some time later, bestial attacks began to occur. The victims’ bodies were completely mangled and the few survivors were unable to utter a single word about the tragic events.
Investigating on your own led you to the traces of a mysterious and cruel organization. It took a long time for the clues you gathered to lead you to the person directly responsible for this madness.
