Update 05: New cursor size option

Hey psychotics!

We've added a new option on MechaNika so now you can change the game cursor. You may want to do that because

A) you don't like our awesome big cursor and you prefer your system's

and/or

B) you are having issues while trying to control the cursor.

In any case, you can now toggle the cursor style in the options menu. If you are not able to do that because B, then just open the game preferences file (you can find it in %UserProfile%/.prefs/ on Windows or in ~/.prefs/ on Linux and OS) and change the value of the CURSOR SIZE attribute from BIG to SMALL.

If you have any doubt or new issue, feel free to contact us and we'll try to do our best!

Have fun!

Update 04: Let's play videos compilation

Hey there!

We've created a YouTube playlist with all MechaNika Let's play videos we know about. So, if you're stuck and don't know how to use this item or where to get that puzzle done, take a look at these videos!

Cheers!

Update 03: New display resolution and fullscreen options

After dealing with some issues related to display resolutions and knowing that some of you'd like to have an option to play MechaNika on windowed mode we have added two new options, so now you can change the game resolution to one that properly fits your display and toggle the fullscreen mode.

Clicking on the display resolution button (the yellow one) the game will be configured in the next available resolution. You can click many times until MechaNika fits your display. These are the defined resolutions:

  • 1280 x 720
  • 1280 x 800
  • 1366 x 768
  • 1440 x 900
  • 1600 x 900
  • 1680 x 1050
  • 1920 x 1080
  • 1920 x 1200
  • 2560 x 1440

In case you want to specify a different resolution, open the mechanika-preferences file (you can find it in %UserProfile%/.prefs/ on Windows or in ~/.prefs/ on Linux and OS) and you'll be able to specify your preferred display size there (you'll need to start the game after being updated so these new options appear in the preferences file).

Clicking on the fullscreen button (the purple one) will toggle the fullscreen mode, obviously.

We hope that these two new options are useful to those that had problems with the game resolution!

Update 02: Display resolutions and cursor issues fixed

Hey!

During the last hours some people reported weird behaviors related to the display resolution and the cursor control. These issues affected all platforms, including Windows, Linux and Mac OS X, but some hours ago we fixed these issues and updated the game, so now everything should work like a charm.

In case you find a new problem, do not hesitate to report it so we can take a look and fix it as soon as possible! You can open a new thread here in the community hub or send us an e-mail to info@mangoprotocol.com.

Have a nice weekend!

Update 01: MechaNika has been released!

Hi there!

A month ago MechaNika was greenlit on Steam and now it has been released for PC and Mac. YAY!

For those who don't know about the game, MechaNika is the first episode of what we call the Psychotic Adventures, games that take place in the Psychotic world. This first episode features Nika, a smart 7 year old girl that doesn't like this world, so she wants to destroy it. A charming girl, isn't she? She has a plan to achieve her goal: a massive destruction weapon called MechaNika, but first she needs to find the remaining components so she can complete and assemble her invention. You will join her in her quest to find these components while you meet more Psychotic characters, like Marcus the meal dealer, Rosemary the almost blind and deaf video game addict granny, and Agatha the Carnivorist.

We won't tell you anymore because we want you to play the game and discover the story with all the details we've put in it. We hope you really enjoy it! We'd like to know what you think about it, what you love, what you hate, your favorite character, anything you'd change to improve the game, etc. We are already working on new Psychotic Adventures, so your feedback is really important to us.

By the way, we know that many people don't like the font that is depicted in the launch trailer and in the screenshots. Don't panic! You can choose a different font, more readable, if you want. Check it out in this video.

And one last note: bear in mind that MechaNika is not a game for kids, not because it has a cartoon pussy on it or because Nika takes a swig of her cognac and cocoa shake when she needs to see things clearer, but because they won't probably understand the story or the jokes. Despite its naïve visuals, the game exposes some adult themes, always from a fun perspective, of course.

And... that's it! Nothing more to say. So thanks for your support and don't hesitate to post any comment, review or doubt you have on the community hub. Have fun!
