There will be a series of patches on this version so they will be lettered. abc, etc.

v0.0.2.37 First person patch.

Sorry folks, I have to set Medusa Frontier to a first person perspective while some texture issues are being examined. After thinking about it carefully, one of the main points of the game is to require a shift between first and third person camera view.

4_18 Update v0.0.2.36

Version 0.0.2.36!
This patch may possibly break save games so frequent updates will slow down and a very considerate save game system will be implemented.
Updates will slow down to allow better focus on core systems. Since novice use of software development methodology has been observed in the project, Early Access hotfixes and patch progress simply will not work so a few more hours or days of random iterations and improvements will occur before the Demo and Paid Early Access merge to be nearly code identical with some exceptions. Primarily the Save game and player builder options. This is a COMMON "phase" for many types of software developers regardless of the scope ,nature, of the game or project.

Changes and Updates

  • Bug fixes, cleaner base building.
  • Platforms should be easier to build and more stable in the clickable world space.
  • Gold items have changed to Season Event Item.
  • The Medusa Yellow moon has disappeared and a sphere of some sort has appeared.
  • A mysterious corner sphere with no texture remains in the exact same location.
  • Terrain normal map changed from globby material to a rocky stone like normal map.
  • Stat Meters will remain full for a while. Survival drains and mechanics are not being implemented.
  • Decorative Green Crystals and a few fighters are buildable options.
  • Building an item will remain "instant" and a discovery system is being considered.

4_14 Update v 0.0.2.31

4_14_2022
Early Access Update v0.0.2.31

With the swiftly implemented Frontier Roamer yesterday it became obvious that the actual Frontier would need to be a little bit bigger to make a fair impression. Frontier Terrain in the Early Access edition is scaled 2x thus making the current terrain area 1024x1024.

Medusa Frontier is pretty empty until players build something and the controls and interface for build mechanics do need improvement, which is why Medusa Frontier is an Early Access game.

Changes:

  • Ice Brine is randomized over a larger area.
  • Mysterious Face monuments have been replaced by crystals.
  • Explorable area is now 1024x124 world units(as promised).
  • Harvesting from terrain reduced to 1 square per harvest.
  • Player Harvesting now only gathers 1 unit per harvest.
  • Achievements are disabled for revision and total rework and will likely be redesigned to require twenty hours of gameplay or more.
  • Player Saves to a new data folder for save games. Development of dependable cloud based save games and inventory will be examined later in development.

Bug fixes:
A variety of game start up fixes should improve compatibility.
Introduction Logo and Medusa Frontier intro screen wait time reduced to about 10 seconds.
