Team Deathmatch!
Drakon has managed to mod Metal Drift for all of us, so we can now play an improvised deathmatch. Drakon has the server all set up, so just hop in and play!

Tournament Pairings and Info
The pairings for Match 1 of the tournament have been decided. The pairings are:

Arson vs. The Booth Babes
Beef Sandwich vs. The Latent Half

The tournament will run double elimination. Match 1 starts next Friday, June 25. Teams will have one week to play their match, so Match 1 will end the following Friday, July 2.

Tournament News - Teams
In light of the upcoming Metal Drift tournament (rules and info coming soon), I believe it's time to start putting some teams together. So open up that friends list of yours and figure out who you want to be on your team.

The only rule on choosing teams is that a team cannot have more than 4 members.

Besides that, you have total freedom. Talk it over with some friends. If none of your friends want to be on your team (Nice friends, eh?), then post on the tournament thread in the Steam forums and denote yourself as a "Loner" and you'll be placed on a team if any have an open slot.

Feel free to choose a team name. You may also want to chat with your teammates somehow and discuss strategies, positions, or who will be using what weapon/upgrade combo.

Remember, only 4 to a team. More info to come on the tournament.

Team rosters are required to be posted on the tournament thread in two weeks, Friday June 11.

Miner Wars - An Upcoming MMOFPS
While chatting on the Metal Drift IRC (which you should totally check out!), I was linked to an upcoming game entitled Miner Wars. It's similar to EVE Online, where the gameplay takes place in space, but if differs in the fact that Miner Wars also adds in the FPS perspective.

You may be wondering why I'm posting this. Well, Miner Wars is being made by an indie company called Keen Software House. After testing Metal Drift and seeing its release onto Steam, I know how hard it is for indie companies to get their game known and develop and decent playerbase (which, sadly, Metal Drift has not yet obtained). So, by posting this, I'm hoping to get Miner Wars some recognition before it goes into beta.

I sincerely hope that you will follow the link to the Miner Wars site and check out what looks to be an epic game made by a fantastic group of indie devs.

Hosting a server - the correct way!
Just starting your own game won't be enough for it to show up on the server page. There are a few extra steps you must go through for other players to able to join your server.
