Metallic Child
『METALLIC CHILD』Developmental status Vol.8
The Currency of this Game: Disks
"Disks" can be obtained in the battlefield and used for various services.
By defeating enemies in the field,
and destroying certain objects, you may obtain "Disks."
When you're low on HP, don't hesitate to use your Disks to buy HP cans! HP cans can be bought from this vendor and will recover some of your HP!
No need to barter, Disks can buy you weapons too!
Sometimes you may run into these shops… and if you're lucky, there might be a powerful weapon up for sale!
There are many other uses to these Disks, including upgrading weapons and transporting within the battle field. But, Disks are reset every time you enter a new field.
You may think to save up your Disks for the "right time," but if you lose in battle, it'll all go to waste…! Be a smart shopper and prepare to face the boss!
That's it for this week...
Next week's issue will be: Many a little makes a mickle! Pile up those Chips to strengthen Rona!
With the Gauntlet and Hammer, evasion was how you could dodge attacks. With the Sword&Shield, "guarding" with the shield is the way to go! In fact, it's the only way to go.
Dodge melee and energy attacks by guarding. But remember, as with evading, guarding consumes your battery.
Unfortunately, even the toughest of shields are only effective against physical attacks, so maneuvering is also important.
Practice Makes Perfect
What if you parry an enemy attack by guarding at exactly the same time as the attack...?
Woah! You guarded without consuming your battery, AND dealt damage to surrounding enemies!!! This is the so-called "Just-guard." The timing is quite severe, hence the high-risk, but if you master it, you could attack limitlessly...... Well, isn't that awesome!
Further, installing certain Super-cores will upgrade the Just-guard, giving such effects as blowing away surrounding enemies, and unleashing electro-skill attacks.
That's it for this week...
Next week's issue will be: Don't spend too much or too less! How to get the most value out of your "Chips"
Melee and energy attacks can be evaded by rolling! But wait! Rolling consumes your battery, so use it sparingly.
Rolling is ineffective for some attacks that are low to the ground. That's when jumping comes in! Excellent!
Familiarize yourself with the enemies' cards, and master the art of evasion!
Roll to attack!
Rolling, it's not just for evasion, you know?
Attack, roll, attack, roll, attack, roll...Be careful not to get dizzy!
Canceling movements, rapidly switching between attacks... Rolling can be used in a variety of ways, for smarter performance. By landing attacks to charge between rolls, who knows, maybe 999 combos isn't all that impossible?
That's it for this week...
Next week's issue will be: Does high risk mean high return? The difference between "Guard" and "Just-guard"
By defeating them, Rona can attain the unique skills possessed by the bosses at the end of each stage. It is these skills that are called the "MC skills."
MC skills are overwhelmingly powerful!!
As with all the good things in this world, your usage of these skills is limited. So use them wisely. The skill gauge, shown here on the top left corner, will indicate how much of this skill you have yet to use.
Up to two MC skills can be selected at the start of a battle stage. Whether you choose them depending on the stage characteristics, or you find absolute favorites that are a must for any situation, these skills will greatly affect your performance for the good!
Along with the many other strengthening factors that there are, Rona can receive various buffs by obtaining "Super-cores" and "Mini-cores."
Some contribute to simple boosts in attack power, while others have effects such as increased battery charge rates, allowing for more skills to be unleashed!
However, of course, there is also the risk of receiving a debuff. For this edition, we will introduce several "Bug-cores" that result in interesting debuffs!
Rona picks up a Core and... she got pixelated...! Some of you may find this to be quite nostalgic?
Wait, what's up with the screen? Seems like she picked up a core that significantly drops the resolution of the monitor... This is not exactly the kind of nostalgia we want...
You'll only be able to find out whether it is a "good" or "bad" Core after eating it. Anyone else wonder what it tastes like...? Rona says it tastes like eggs... but, I'm not taking her word for it...
"SWORD & SHIELD" The shield is large enough to fully cover Rona, but the drawback is the low attack speed. The so-called double-edged sword allows for a just guard, followed by a swift counter. Establish an invincible stronghold and don't let the enemy go off-guard!!
"HAMMER" There's no way to hold this hefty fellow in balance, even with both hands. Slow attack speed, and absolutely no guard... but, if you're looking for absolute destruction and a bit of romance, this one's for you!! The heavyweight, wide range attack is just straight-up OVERWHELMING!!
“GAUNTLET” The gauntlet excels in attack speed and evasion, thus is fit for a wide range of players from beginners to the advanced. This speed is sure to get you hooked!
The gauntlet has many varieties, so try them all out and find your favorite!

A sneak peek at some of the machines that Rona will be handling! Once you board this guy, the battle scene will turn into a riot. Rampage around with these skreaking arms, and once you come back to your senses, you’ll be covered in oil, and surrounded by a load of shattered parts and the smell of gunpowder… Oh please, do have some consideration for the janitor.
Rona rockets through the tunnel with this machine. Where in the world is she headed for?
