v1.2 Released with Ingame Music and new immersive Visual Effects
Today we have released v1.2 of Meteorite Defense Command.
New in this content update release:
NEW: Ingame-music during the levels
NEW: Meteorite impact and Missile explosion effect
NEW: Main Menu Meteorites now pixelated and push towards the visual background
Ingame-music during the levels One of the most requested small additions we received was music - while we had envisioned the silence of space, the addition of mood that the music can give made it clear that we should add the tracks we used for the trailer to the levels too.
Meteorite impact and Missile explosion effect When a Meteorite impacts with the ground, a Missile explodes or when a Meteorite breaks up from gun-fire, various levels of 'visual shock' is added to the game-board (but not the UI) to illustrate a shock-wave hitting the operators visual instruments.
When Game Over is reached this effect goes into overdrive to illustrate a total breakdown of the same components for the operator.
Main Menu Meteorites now pixelated and push towards the visual background
As a both a visual tribute to the old games that inspired us, and as a way to push the Meteorites raining down in the Main Menu screen more into the background, there is now a pixelation effect applied to the full view of them. The main UI text still remains crisp.
v1.1 Brings a new Game Mode and some minor fixes
Today we have released v1.1 of Meteorite Defense Command.
New in this content update release:
NEW: 'Infinity Mode' - Play Until Die, No Breaks
NEW: Main Menu Meteorites
FIX: Meteorite Distribution bug
'Infinity Mode' First of several new alternative Modes, allowing you to experience the game in a different way. Infinity Mode doesn't follow any hand-tailored levels, but is an infinite level with randomly distributed and spawned stones, where a time-based climb of level determine the speed and frequency of the drops.
What level can you reach?
Main Menu Meteorites The main menu now has meteorites flying in the background. They are of various sizes, some even smaller than during normal game-play, and will randomly break up for a nice visual experience while you decide to start a new game round.
Meteorite Distribution bug The distribution-model for the hand-tailored mission unfortunately showed a bias of spawning the listed meteorites in the first 2/3rd parts of the screen, to the left. This has now been corrected and they can appear all the way from slightly outside left side to slightly outside of right side of the screen.
Update 7th of Aug, 2018 We have also added the support for RichPresence - showing your current progress as your play, in the friends-list in Steam - just as DOTA 2 and some other games have!
Meteorite Defense Command is now available!
With this announcement v1.0 of Meteorite Defense Command is live on Steam.
We hope that you enjoy our little celebration and homage to the classic arcade games of the golden era.
