Yesterday, we released a new test build to those enrolled in the ongoing Sim Update 13 public beta. You can read the release notes for this new build, version 1.34.13.0, on our forums here.
We have been very closely monitoring reports from SU13 testers regarding an issue with long loading times that can occur when certain Marketplace products are installed. The dev team is making progress on this issue, but a fix was not included with the 1.34.13.0 build. Thank you to all the beta testers who have reported and submitted information about this bug. Your contributions have been extremely helpful to us.

Yesterday, we released the first public test build for Sim Update 13 (1.34.10.0) to those players who have opted in to receive beta builds. You can read the release notes for this pre-release build on our forums here. If you are not enrolled in the beta and would like to help test the next major release of Microsoft Flight Simulator, you can find instructions on how to enroll here. The beta is available to players on PC (MS Store and Steam) and Xbox Series X|S.
Earlier today, we released updated versions of three aircraft in the Local Legends and Famous Flyers series: Ford 4-AT Trimotor, Latécoère 631, and Boeing 307 Stratoliner. You can read the release notes for these three updated planes here. You can download the updates from the in-sim Content Manager.

Development Update Blog - August 3, 2023
The development team is currently hard at work preparing the first beta build of Sim Update 13 (SU_13), the next major release for Microsoft Flight Simulator. If you were enrolled in previous public tests and didn’t manually opt-out, the SU_13 beta build will be automatically installed for you as soon as it is available. If you did not take part in previous betas but would like to help test SU_13, we will provide instructions on how to join the beta when the public testing period begins.
Recently, we have seen some questions from players asking about the status of the Scenery Gateway System, which the Development Roadmap stated would be released with World Update XIV last week. Unfortunately, this did not happen. The Scenery Gateway is currently undergoing accessibility and privacy requirement reviews, and while we were hopeful these reviews would be complete in time for a launch with World Update XIV, they remain ongoing. We are currently targeting the Scenery Gateway System to release alongside the launch of Sim Update 13 in September, although this may change depending on how the accessibility and privacy reviews progress.
Yesterday, the Xbox team announced the lineup of titles that will be appearing at gamescom, the world's largest gaming event, in Cologne, Germany from August 24-27. Attendees at gamescom will have the opportunity of hands-on experience with the latest content coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator! If you're attending gamescom, be sure to stop by the Xbox booth in Hall 8 of the Koelnmesse, North entrance and say hello to the team!
For gamescom attendees and those who will be in or near the Cologne area on August 26, we are hosting a small community event for Microsoft Flight Simulator fans. Space will be limited, so please complete this form to express your interest in attending this event!

World Update XIV: Central Eastern Europe Now Available!
Microsoft Flight SimulatorWorld Update XIV: Central Eastern Europe captures the majesty, charm and allure of Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. The region bristles with history, architectural wonders, and stunning scenery. The Central Eastern Europe countries beckon exploration from above with never-before-seen fidelity.
Microsoft Flight Simulator assembled fresh, full-coverage aerial imagery, digital elevation data and more from our partners at Bing Maps and Maxar to create this update. World Update XIV includes 103 points of interest (POIs): 18 in Czechia, 15 in Slovakia, 19 in Hungary, 15 in Slovenia, 23 in Croatia, and 13 in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Castles, towers, and churches, among other sights, all brilliantly reproduced and awaiting discovery from the air in this update. Microsoft Flight Simulator partnered with Gaya Simulations, to create six bespoke airports: Karlovy Vary Airport (LKKV) in Czechia, Poprad-Tatry Airport (LZTT) in Slovakia, Pécs-Pogány Airport (LHPP) in Hungary, Zagorje ob Savi Airport (LJZA) in Slovenia, Rijeka International Airport (LDRI) in Croatia, and Prijedor Urije Airport (LQPD) in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Microsoft Maps & Local, in collaboration with Vexcel, created 10 cities throughout the region: Prague, Brno, and Plzeň in Czechia; Budapest in Hungary; Ljubljana and Maribor in Slovenia; Split and Dubrovnik in Croatia; and Sarajevo and Banja Luka in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Simmers will be amazed by the endless opportunities of exploration found throughout these urban regions in World Update XIV, all of them reproduced in stunning photorealistic quality.
Rounding out this latest release, Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update XIV includes three discovery flights: Prague in the Czechia, Sarajevo in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Budapest in Hungary. It also features three landing challenges: Croatia’s Kastela (LDSP) in an Airbus A320neo, Slovenia’s Vzletišče Zagorje Ob Savi (LJZA) in a Pilatus PC-6/B2-H4 Turbo Porter, and Slovakia’s Poprad-Tatry (LZTT) in an Airbus A310-300. The update also includes four incredible bush trips: “Czech Route,” “Northeast Adriatic,” “Danube Journey,” and “Carpathian Journey.”

Development Update Blog - July 20, 2023
Earlier today, we released updates to two aircraft: Local Legend IX: Latécoère Model 631 and Famous Flyer VI: Ford AT-4 Trimotor. You can read the release notes for these plane updates here.
Additionally, due to an internal error, we mistakenly released a new version (1.0.24) of Expert Series I: ATR 42-600 / 72-600. This version is not yet ready for release. We have rolled back and fixed the error, but if you downloaded this version while it was available, please uninstall the plane from Content Manager and re-download the current 1.0.20 version. We apologize for the inconvenience.
As we mentioned last week, we will not be having a monthly Developer Livestream in July due to the unavailability of several team members. We have instead created a pre-recorded video featuring Jorg and several guests to share some new information about Microsoft Flight Simulator. You can watch this video during our regular Community Fly-In Friday livestream on our official Twitch channel. If you would like to participate in this group flight, all the details on how to join the event can be found on our forums here. We will play the developer video relatively early in the livestream after the group takes off and reaches cruise altitude. We hope to see many of you in Twitch chat on Friday!

Development Update Blog - July 13, 2023
For those living in the Northern Hemisphere, we are now fully in the summer months. For many people, this is a time for vacations, relaxation, and spending time with family and friends. To our community members enjoying the summer, we wish all of you a safe and relaxing break.
Many members of the MSFS team are also taking advantage of the summer months to enjoy some holiday time. Accordingly, we will not have a Developer Livestream in July, but we are instead preparing a pre-recorded video featuring updates from some members of the dev team and a few special guests. You can watch this video during our regular Twitch Community Fly-In Friday event next week on July 21.
