Delivery Update #3 - New cinematic, mailbox feature and final outfits emotes
Did you think we would leave you without an update this month? Not at all!
This time, we’ll be showing new art content that has been recently added to the game and hopefully you’ll appreciate it! Let’s jump into the new cinematic and outfit final illustrations:
New cinematic first fragment
Our friends from Alkimia Animation Studio have accompanied us since the beginning of the development of Mika and the Witch's Mountain to create the incredible animated scenes that you can see in the trailer.
Since December, we have get together again to create a new additional cinematic that you will be able to see when you play the full version and that we hope will make your gaming experience even better.
We can't wait to have it complete, but we can show you today a first fragment where we see Andros and his twins Ilse and Han. All of them belong to the Elit race, which we introduced for the first time in Summer in Mara, and which are characterized by being quite…mean.
Mika outfits: final illustrations
One of the promises we made during the Kickstarter campaign was to create new skins for Mika to collect and give, somehow, some more customization and variety to the adventure.
These outfits are already modeled and successfully implemented in the game, but we've gone a step further and taken that feature down to the smallest detail: This means that every time you change the skin, Mika's appearance will change in the dialogues to match the outfit. A 100% match!
*Remember that some outfits are exclusive to some campaign rewards and cannot currently be obtained, but most of them are obtained naturally by completing the game's story.
Amazing Deliveries mailbox
Although this feature is exclusive to some of the people who supported us in the Kickstarter campaign, maybe some of them will want to share it with the rest of the community when the time comes!
Next to the Amazing Deliveries building, the company Mika works for delivering packages, there is a friendly mailbox where you can enter codes to get unexpected surprises.
Some of them will be personalized packages that the backers themselves have designed, and each of them will have a private code. We wanted to show you how it works as we are very proud of the result, but maybe you can experience it for yourself when you play Mika and the Witch's Mountain!

Delivery Update #2 - NPC’s and Camera
Hey everyone! This is the second Delivery Update where we will be sharing these final stages of the development until the launch of the game, and today it’s time to introduce our charming NPCs and the camera:
NPCs
Orilla Town is the only place inhabited by a group of people on the whole island (though not the only place), but we have not yet introduced you to its inhabitants!
Workers: Sailors, Vendors, Farmers and more
A town by the sea needs a group of nostalgic but affable sailors who bring fresh fish every day. Curiously, you will never catch them fishing, because the fish in these waters are too elusive!
The cheerful vendors of Orilla Town fill the streets with their energy every day in search of new customers. Don't be fooled by their friendly faces and kind words, they may be trying to sell you something you don't need!
Soot & Fog Inc’s Smoke factory is Orilla Town's main source of workers, although it's not an easy or clean job. If you see someone stressed out, extremely tired, and with sooty clothes during your deliveries, it's probably one of the workers at the island's smoke factory.
Villagers: Kids, old people, Tourists, etc
When you walk through the streets of Orilla Town, you will discover the life that runs through them through its people: children playing, old people enjoying a well-deserved rest.
Mont Gaun may not be the most popular of all vacation destinations, but it is a little hidden gem for those looking for relaxation and, why not, some unexpected surprises.
Its beaches have nothing to envy those of the Mara Islands, and are much less crowded! There is plenty of space for strolling, making sand castles, and sunbathing.
And, of course, to have an ice cream!
Camera
As we have already shown, the camera in this case can be controlled freely. This is a very positive experience for the players, who have control over it and what they see at every moment, but it poses a lot of challenges for the development.
However, we have done some additional work that will help to generate a more immersive feeling and with a very remarkable visual result with these small adjustments:
Dialogues & Bubbles
In dialogues, the camera will automatically take a position to get a certain shot that shows the characters involved in the dialogue, more aesthetic and avoiding possible glitches between models.
Also, we’ve added bubbles to guide and help you throughout the game. Not only will they give more "life" to secondary characters and NPCs, but they will also let you know what you should do next, or who to talk to without needing to repeat a dialogue with that character.

Delivery Update #1 - The Witchy Notebook
Hello everyone! And happy new year (can still be said?)
We're going to start a series of regular updates to give you a closer look at the final stretch of Mika and the Witch's Mountain development - the release will be early this year for Steam and consoles!
In this update we want to show you the most important tool of the game (besides the flying broom, of course): the Witchy Notebook!
In it, you will be able to check all the quests, collectibles, change Mika's costume, consult the map, and much more. Useful as well as beautiful!
The Witchy Notebook will guide you to make your deliveries without fail and get the best ratings, and it will also make you want to explore this small island full of secrets and surprises.
Mika will have different outfits and you will also be able to get other aesthetic elements for her broom and more collectibles. You will be able to change and customize them from your notebook as you unlock them.
You will be able to browse the map to see all the important locations, your position at anytime and also everything you have left to explore on the island, which we warn you is going to be a lot!

It’s that time of the year again: it’s Steam Next Fest!
The bad part is that we’re not officially participating, the good part is that we have decided to activate the demo again for those of you who have not been able to play Mika and the Witch's Mountain yet.
What can you expect from the demo?
This demo allows you to make some package deliveries while flying with your broom and talking to some of the inhabitants of Orilla Town.
The goal is to show the main mechanics of the game: flying with Mika's magic broom and delivering packages. It also shows a small part of the island, which in the full game you will be able to explore in depth and in different ways to meet new characters, find treasures, collectibles and advance in your adventure.
Can I play only with a gamepad?
Although we recommend playing Mika and the Witch's Mountain with a controller, you can also play it with keyboard and mouse, but keep in mind that the controls will be different.
Join our Wishlist Marathon
October is the month of witches and we have prepared a challenge to push Mika and the Witch's Mountain wishlist so that more people discover this little adventure.
Every time we reach the goal we will reveal new game content never shown before, so if you want to know more remember to put it on your wishlist!

Attending live events with Mika and the Witch’s Mountain demo
We always try to be part of online gaming events so that more and more people get to know Mika and the Witch's Mountain and want to live the adventures of our little delivery witch when the time comes.
However, this summer we had the opportunity to do it live at two very special events: Gamescom (Köln, Germany) and IndieDevDay (Barcelona, Spain).
Mika's demo (yes, the one you have played here on Steam!) was available in a beautiful booth during those days together with her dear friend Koa, from Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara. We received a lot of positive feedback from all the people who played it or came to the booth, especially for its lovely artwork ♡
But it doesn't end there, tomorrow starts Tokyo Games Show 2023 edition and Mika will be there with our friends from Pikii. Come by and say hello!
First look at Mika physical exclusive items
Related to this, we’re also very proud to show the first samples we have received of some of the most special physical rewards of the Kickstarter campaign: the figure with the special packaging and the tarot card deck.
Production to make delivery to campaign backers has already started, but at Chibig Atelier you can preorder either one for a limited time. Maybe you missed the opportunity during the Kickstarter or you just saw this adorable figure and now you need it in your collection - you can still get it!
*The exclusive box that simulates the packages Mika delivers in the game is only for backers of the campaign with a pledge that originally included the figure. Current preorders do not include it.
Mika’s new outfit collection and Churro Express minigame first steps
Let’s go straight to the point: look how amazing the new outfits look on Mika!
These outfits were not initially planned in the development of the game, but were added as a result of the Kickstarter campaign. Most of them will be available to all players, whatever the platform, but remember that one of them is exclusive to people who supported the campaign and another one is exclusive to backers who supported the figure also during Kickstarter.
On the other hand, the design of the new minigames and dungeons is going as planned! We don't want to make too many spoilers and the graphics are still to be finished, but the Churro Express minigame looks this good:
And with a little surprise for those of you who have played Summer in Mara. We can't say more! Just one more little detail that builds this universe of Chibig games (Chibigverse some people call it hehe).
News about the release
Unfortunately, it's not all good news, but we always want to be transparent with the development of our games, so here goes: Mika and the Witch's Mountain will be released in 2024.
The new content to be added after the Kickstarter campaign affects the original development plan of the game and, although in these past months we wanted to try to maintain it with all our strength, it’s not possible without compromising the dynamics and values of the team (in other words, without crunch).
We have refocused the production plan and now Mika's team has 2 more people who will help us to meet these expectations we have in the project. This decision has been very difficult for us, but we are as eager to make a good game as you are to play it, and for that we need more time.
We hope that everything we have prepared for October will help you to look forward to the game, but until then we can't say more!

Hello delivery witches!
It's Steam Next Fest week but we can't join this time as we participated on the first 2023 edition. But don't panic yet! The demo will be available all this week until next Monday 26th! Woohoo!
The demo is a small journey through the beginning of Mika's adventure, where you will meet some of the most important characters and you will be able to make some deliveries with your magic broom.
To keep the surprise once the full version of the game arrives, the island is limited, but you can explore every corner of Orilla Town and the beach - there are many hidden details, especially if you've played the previous Chibig titles!
In future updates we will show more about how the development is progressing: new animations, Mika's skins and mini games.

A figure collection starts with Mika!
Hello bewitched friends!
A couple of months after Mika's Kickstarter campaign, we have resumed the development of the game with all the new content we are going to add: new quests, Zelda-like dungeons, skins and so on.
This is very exciting, not only because Koa and Mika are close friends and their adventures are related (you know how Chibig's game universe works, right?), but because this Koa's Kickstarter campaign has a very special surprise: a figure!
Imagine having the figure of Mika and Koa together in your home, will this be the beginning of a collection? The beginning of a great adventure together for sure!

New Future Games Show 2023 trailer
After the successful Kickstarter campaign, there is new content to add to the game development planning until its release that we will be revealing in the coming months.
Some of the previews have not been long in coming, as the development of the game has continued during these months (of course!), and we have been able to show it with this new video that combines gameplay and cinematics.
Dropping as part of the Future Games Show, the new trailer gives us a fantastic, fresh look at the games broom delivery mechanics, vibrant world, and just a few of the neighbors you'll be delivering to.
