Miles & Kilo

Patch Notes (6/24/2019)

It's been awhile since the last patch, but I finally decided it was time to get the Steam version of Miles & Kilo up to date!

  • Stuck on a level? In story mode, a shiny new Dragonfruit powerup spawns after 5 deaths -- pick it up to gain invincibility and a double jump!

  • Keyboard and gamepad controls can now be customized in the options menu.

  • A new Tutorial mode teaches some essential techniques for completing the game.

  • Added 9 new achievements!

  • A few levels were adjusted slightly to improve the difficulty curve. (Fastest possible times are not affected.)

  • Menu UI is improved, particularly the leaderboards view.

  • Added French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, and Russian languages. (Press F1 on the main menu to override the default language.)

Shout out to my friend Mick Waites for his awesome work adding the language localization support and various other improvements to the game.

Enjoy, and as always shoot me an email ( mike@thepixelguy.com ) if you run into any issues!

Patch Notes (1/18/18)

Hey all,

I've just released the latest patch for Miles & Kilo. Here's a list of the changes:

  • The "You Only Live Once" achievement was renamed to "Seriously Skilled", and the description now reads: "Completed a time attack with less than 10 deaths."
  • The "Sorry You Can't Spend It!" achievement was renamed to "Treasure Hunter", and the description now reads: "Collected all coins in every level."
  • The "Sequel Please?" achievement was renamed to "Dedicated", and the description now reads: "Earned an S-rank in every level."
  • Button prompts are now displayed after a short time in the early levels to help new players learn the controls. (Note: If you're a veteran player who speeds through the levels quickly, you won't see them.)
  • Springs were tweaked to bounce the player much higher when the Jump button is not held down for the duration of the bounce. This should feel a bit more natural and reduce the difficulty of 1-2 for new players. The placement of certain platforms in several later levels were also slightly adjusted to account for this change.

Note: If you've already S-ranked all levels or collected every coin prior to this patch, you'll need to quickly complete a level for the achievement to register.

As always, feel free to drop me an email (mike@thepixelguy.com) if you run into any issues or have any questions. Thanks for being awesome people and playing my game!

Mike

Patch Notes (12/6/17)

Hey all,

I've released a few patches over the past week. Here is a list of new features and the issues that were fixed:

  • Added "Autorun" option in the options menu. (turned off by default)
  • Crashes are now logged to a file called "crashlog.txt" in the game's install folder.
  • Steam will now install the OpenAL redistributable with the game.
  • Fixed crashes for users with non-English languages set as their system's language.
  • Fixed a crash when displaying leaderboards.

Thanks to everyone who reported these issues and helped me get them resolved. If you run into any other problems, just post on the discussion board or send me an email at mike@thepixelguy.com.

Thanks!
