Bigger changes: - most healing skills now remove negative status effects - every time you pick up a never before seen item it will be shown as new in the inventory until you examine it (upon loading an old save all items will be shown as new)
Balance: - leveling up removes most negative status effects - nightmares are less likely to happen - friendly bite removes some poisons - changed some item prices - mint gum now removes most negative status effects - added mint gum to some shops - changed chillaxitve so it prevents anxiety and others for 10 turns - removed A BUNCH of late game enemies
New features and fixes: - certain NPCs have reworked text reflected by the new update - instead of having to press a specific key at the start of battle to view a list of all negative status effects there is now a command you can select at the start of battle (before selecting the command to fight) to view the list - you may also view the list from the stats screen - how much EXP needed to next level is now immediatley shown upon entering the menu - grammar fixes - pink mushroom no longer edable after you've done the tutorial - toxic kid can no longer cause intoxication - prevented the use of souls on party members that don't gain EXP - scorched plains now has a map - minor bug fixes - if jean&jackie dead then final spike puzzles inactive - when you have sailors you no longer have random encounters - if you skipped the tutorial the red baloons are now removed - fixed key bindings in lagfree

Achievement fix
Achievements should now work again. If anyone encounters any other bugs feel free to report them in the steam discussions for bug reporting.
NOTE: Achievements only work on the main windows branch they do not work for mac or the lag free beta branch.
Beauty Update
The major changes in this update are:
remade every single battle sprite, giving them a more consistent and detailed art sytle
remade some overworld sprites
redesigned almost all bosses and even some enemies
totally reworked the tutorial
removed windshell and added a new help option in the menu
rebalanced New Game+

Misery Street Version 2.0
The main focus of this update was to redesign the overworld graphics and some monsters too. The new screenshots and trailer show off the redesigns on the store page. Since it's such a drastic change to the game I've labeled this update as Version 2.0.
Other changes include:

rewritten some NPC dialogues, specifically in Safe Place
made 1st snake encounter more obvious
updated credits
added new help text in the equipment window
added cutscene skip and speedrun action log speed to options instead of skipboy

Update #4: rebalancing, auto-saving and more
The major features added in this update are:
removed quicksaving, the game now auto-saves instead on two separate slots: after every battle and map transition
rebalanced many mid and late-game enemies
buffed buckets and slightly emo
added the ability to change equipment during combat
The game should now be more accessible to people not so familiar with RPGs while retaining the key parts that give the experience just the right amount of challenge.

rebalanced the stats of some mid and most late-game enemies, didn't change any of the bosses
change the AI of some enemies
renamed Hobo Grey and Beggar to fit their character better
Item changes:
white candy and potato juice cost +1PLC
mystical staff costs +100PLC
blue orb gives the ability to freeze
added blue orb and wooden wand to scorched plains collector
magenta orb costs -100PLC
angels blessing is now a one-time use item like ambrosia
changed laser visor
added wooden wand to captains servant but it costs 75 there
changed cosmic dissonance
essence of darkness now goes onto the body
State changes:
if emo anxious he can't counterattack
frozen always lasts only 2 turns
World changes:
added some advice dialogue to the captain on how to save 2 of the crew without having to fight any monsters in case the player is underleveled when they reach the ship
if you open a later sewer and the previous one was unopened the previous one gets opened as well
toxic sewer is always open from both sides
shower sound effect happens faster
little misery gives rewards to skilled adventurers
changed pleasant valley's rain
