Welcome to the sixth instalment of Kamura Hunter’s Hub!
This week we’re going to be taking an early look at a small selection of some of the new Event Quest content that’ll be arriving next week in version 3.9!
From the eagerly anticipated Universal Studios Japan (USJ) collab, to new layered armour, stickers, pose sets and fresh challenges to test your skills as a Hunter, there’s something for everyone!
Are your weapons sharpened and ammo loaded? Good! Let’s jump in…
New Event Quests Spotlight
USJ Collab – Two New Quests
Complete these quests to earn materials that will allow you to forge special armor and weapons for your Hunter, Palicoes and Palamutes!
Yes, that includes layered versions of the armour!
USJ – Shrine Showdown!
Take on a triple threat of monsters in this High Rank quest to craft the Azure Star Blade I (Longsword), Azure Era Wyrmbow (Bow) and Azure Age armour (and layered armour) set for your Hunter.
Rise above the combined might of these monsters and claim your prize!
USJ – Arzuros Onslaught!
Protect Kamura Village from an onslaught of Arzuros in this High Rank Rampage quest to kit out your Palico and Palamute with some special weapons and armour (including layered).
Equally fashionable and fierce hunting buddies!
As highlighted above, both of the above quests fall into the High Rank Event Quests category, giving you fun and skilful confrontations that are full of useful items and monster parts.
Layered Armour
For some Hunters, fashion game is the endgame! If this sounds like you, then you’ll want to look out for these striking Event Quests!
A Good Old-Fashioned Rampage
As the name suggests, this quest is a Rampage! If you can successfully hold the line and defend the final gate you’ll be awarded with the materials required to forge a rather special layered armour, the “Origin” set.
This look is directly inspired by a set from the original Monster Hunter, a true classic!
Frost Bites
Complete this quest to give yourself a cool new Winter look with the “Orion” layered armour.
What stands between you and this set? Well, you’ll have to best the ice-cold combo of Barioth, Goss Harag and Lagombi – watch out for that Iceblight!
Pose & Stickers
Wrestling with Pain
Take a seat, master Hunter, with the “Sitting Pose Set” that you’ll earn after taking down an Arzuros and a Tetranadon in this hunt!
This pose set contains a number of different ways to sit, letting you pose comfortably with your favourite villagers in Kamura, or even get comfy when you’re out on the hunt – a great set to unlock for Hunters who enjoy a bit of Cohoot photography!
Princesses’ Banquet
You’ve been cordially invited to the Princesses’ Banquet! Survive the main course and you’ll unlock the sweet “Chocolate Set” of stickers to use in multiplayer!
What stands between you and this tasty treat? A truly fearsome trio consisting of Rathian, Rakna-Kadaki and Somnacanth! Fear not though, you’ve got this covered!
Advanced Quest & Apex Emergency
Those of you that have already tried the existing Apex Emergency and Advanced quests will know that these are not for the faint of heart. They’ll push your hunting skills to new limits as everything you’ve learned so far is put to the test. Monsters in these quests hit much harder, have more health, increased resistances and are unrelenting in their aggression.
We’ve picked two particularly fearsome hunts from the batch that will drop as part of version 3.9 to help prepare you for the battles ahead!
Advanced: Crimson Calamity
Take on a powered-up Crimson Glow Valstrax in the Infernal Springs! How will you handle this monster’s signature “Ambush” attack in a limited space? There’s only one way to find out…
Apex Diablos Emergency
Be on your guard with this quest, or it’ll end in a bloodbath!
The Apex Emergency Diablos is far stronger and larger than its other kin you’ve encountered so far in Monster Hunter Rise. Be ready for a dance with destruction if you step into this quest. You’ll need to be on your toes throughout! It’ll probably be a good idea to bring strong ice weapons too...
Besting these quests will provide you with monster parts, armour spheres, Silver / Golden eggs and even generous amounts of Defender Ticket 9! Oh and an immense feeling of satisfaction having successfully demonstrated the depth of your hunting prowess!
These quests are hard though, so don’t feel bad if you faint! Every cart is a lesson learned!

Kamura Hunter’s Hub #5 – Launch, Early Game Tips and More!
Hey Hunters,
Welcome to the fifth instalment of Kamura Hunter’s Hub and our first post since Monster Hunter Rise launched on Steam!
To mark the occasion, we’ll be touching base on the game’s launch, helping new players settle into Kamura and known issues.
We’ll then wrap things up with a mysterious tease for the future from Sunbreak Director Suzuki, so don’t miss out on that!
The hunt is on!
It’s been a little over two weeks since Monster Hunter Rise launched on Steam and we want to say a huge THANK YOU for all of your amazing support so far!
With so many Hunters joining the hunt we know Kamura is in the best possible hands and the Rampage can be defeated!
Whether Monster Hunter Rise is your first Monster Hunter title, or you’re joining us from Monster Hunter World, welcome! We hope you’re having a great time and taking hunts to new action-packed heights with your Wirebugs!
Reading through your comments and feedback, we’re so pleased to see the PC specific additions such as HD Textures, 4K, voice chat, Ultrawide and unique filters going down so well, so thank you for letting us know!
We’d also like to take a moment to say thanks to those more experienced Hunters who are taking the time to answer questions from new players about weapons, armour skills and all things Monster Hunter on the forums. We see you spreading the goodness like a Hunting Horn main in an Urgent Quest!
Settling into Kamura!
Guild Cross Armor
Looking for a small boost to help you with early quests as you find your feet as a Hunter? Then you’ll want to go and talk to Senri the Mailman in Kamura Village to claim your free Guild Cross armour set!
The Mailman
The Set
The Guild Cross set is an optional armour set that grants a small boost for the early quests as you build experience, craft and upgrade your first weapons and search out new armour sets to build.
You can choose to wear the full set or pick out pieces to complement your armour skills from other sets.
Donning full Guild Cross will impart the following boons:
120 base defence (24 per piece)
A range of gathering and exploration armour skills
Whilst this set is great for the start of Monster Hunter Rise, keep in mind that as you progress up through the Village and Gathering Hub quest chains, you’ll discover that your armour becomes less effective and protecting you from damage – so keep a look out for stronger armour sets and pieces that compliment your playstyle by visiting Hamon the Blacksmith regularly!
Hunter’s Notes – Kamura Hunter Tips
On the run up to launch we put together some posts that detail some key Monster Hunter Rise features, such as Wirebugs, Silkbind Attacks and making the most of the Village!
Launch brought a lot of new Hunters to the community hub (Hello!!), so we’re just sharing a quick refresher on those topics for Hunters who are interested in getting a quick overview and some useful tips that will serve them well on the hunt…
Whilst bugs are the last thing we like to see, we’d like to take this opportunity to show our appreciation for players who have been taking the time to report and detail any issues they’ve encountered since launch.
One example of this was the “Failed to Save” bug which impacted a number of players at launch, stopping them creating a save file and starting the game. Thanks to the patience and feedback from those effected we were able to release a patch last week that fixed it!
If you’ve been impacted by this bug, please make sure your game is up to date with Ver.3.6.1.1 and follow these instructions to apply the fix!
The team are remaining vigilant and monitoring player feedback across the Steam forums should any other players encounter issues.
If you do encounter a bug, please let us know HERE with as many details as you can provide on the issue, as well as information such as your PC specs. This will be very helpful at assisting the process.
