GREETINGS EVERYONE.
Thank you for a very successful launch of the new big update!

Below you will find a list of changes that made the update feel better, as well as bugfixes encountered after release.

----PATCH NOTES----

  • Slow Time: now says "Increase the boss timer by 3. Cooldown: 5 runs"
    This prevents unlimited amounts of time, but makes the item more accessible by not costing energy to use.

    Priest changed:
  • Healing wand: gives 1 less max health.
  • Vitality: Gives +1 health over time.
  • Lay on Hands (skill): Now says: Restore 8 health. Cooldown: 10 runs. Requires 2 cha, 1 end instead of 3 cha.
  • Holy Favor (Skill): instead of 33% chance for +50% healing --> 25% chance for +100% healing

    Small changes:
  • Black Slime and Tentacle now have an effect when they are triggered.
  • "Gems Galore" player avatar: Gem cost changed from 2500 --> 3000.

    Bug Fixes:
  • You can now trash temporary items.
  • Happy Shirt avatar: Now properly shows on the leaderboard.
  • Garnet necklace (cursed item) fixed: gave +1 health when you picked it.
  • Effect when "Ink" potion and "shadowblast" skill is used now displays properly.
  • Fixed: You were unable to buy the "Rifle" item, if you owned the "Healing Fate" item.
  • Fixed: "Summon Bug" (summoner skill) no longer spawns a bug-miniboss if the miniboss timer was at exactly 1.
  • Fixed: Fungus now poisons the final boss properly, instead of double-poisoning it.
  • Fixed: "Achievements" is now with caps lock, as the rest of the collection text.


The next big update for MaW will include graphical updates and a rather big gameplay change regarding the 3 areas. The goal is to have it ready in mid-april 2023.

HUGE CONTENT UPDATE #2

WELL MET, MONSTER-SLAYERS

Another huge content update has been released!
There are TONS AND TONS of new stuff, so here is a quick-view of the most important things:


  • Added: Global Leaderboards
  • Added: An official fandom wiki (Huge thanks to Zykokiller84!)
  • Added: Functional Steam Cloud integration.
  • The game has now doubled it's amount of items.
  • An all-new Gem Shop where you can spend your hard-earned gems.
  • A new UI and many effect updates.
  • A new attribute: Endurance.
  • The in-game shop has been updated. There are now many different potions that can spawn, rather than the standard four.
  • All avatars reworked and new ones added.
  • Legendary mode made a bit harder and draft phase updated.
  • Added: An interactive tutorial rather than the previous screenshot-based one.
  • Other than that many bug fixes, balance changes and graphical updates.

OTHER CHANGES:
-You can now trash items in your inventory.

-You can now reroll the shop to search for specific items.

-Level-Up now also restores 5 health to the player. (3 in legendary mode)

-You can now stack multiple poisons on enemies. "Deadly Poison" (Hunter skill) has been reworked. See below.

-Legendary mode now costs 20 Gems and gives x1.2 score.

-"Special Events" in legendary mode now costs 10 gems instead of 8 gold.

-Random Class now costs 5 Gems and gives x1.1 score.

-Unlocking Class Avatars: Win 10 games --> win 3 games.


NEW GRAPHICS:
-White box and hourglass-icons added beside the boss timers.

-White box around "RUN" button to more clearly indicate a button.

-All debuffs are now displayed over the monster.

-Skill icons made bigger.

-Added Low-health indicator when you take damage below 10 health. (Turn on/off in settings)

-Added Text in the shop indicating what area you are proceeding to.

-Added an "Are you sure?" question to the Clear Save button.

-Monster section updated.

-All class abilities and weapos now has a border.


BALANCE CHANGES:
-Hunter skill "Deadly Poison" reworked. Now says: "Poison is now stored in this skill and deals 2 damage." This saves inventory space for Hunter, and makes him better late game.

-Templar skill "Justice" reworked. Now says: "Spending 4 mana grants +1 mana"

-Warlock buffed: death scepter now restores 2 health instead of 1.

-Upgrade-Hammer removed and replaced by a new item: Sturdy Old Hammer.

-Slow Time: 5 energy for +5 boss timer ---> 3 energy for +2 boss timer

-Secret Ingredient removed.

-Healing Fate: restore 6 health insteada of 5.

-Battlemage "Firesword" revamped. Now deals % health damage. This makes the class overall better and less luck-based.

-Some requirements for skills have been revised.


BUG FIXES:
-Fixed: If you unlocked a class, but quickly pressed "back" before it unlocked, you would be unable to unlock any classes before restarting the game.

-Fixed: Once in about every 10 games, you would be unable to right-click stuff for unknown reasons.

-The random shop items were not optimized, and thus not entirely random. Some items were more favoured than others. It has now been optimized for maximum randomness!

NEXT BIG UPDATE

The next big update for MaW is very close to being done!

RELEASE DATE: 27th of AUGUST 2022

Here, you can both show off your best score, as well as your player avatar.
Speaking of player avatars: they have all been revised, and there are some hard-to-obain new ones!




There are also many new items, including ones which you can buy in the all new "Gem Shop"

From left to right:

  • Binoculars: Allows you to see the 3 upcoming monsters
  • Scales of Balance: At the start of each area, set your health, mana and EXP to the avarage amount.
  • Poseidons Helmet: Every 3rd monster also drops a "Fish Snack". SET BONUS: Get a Golden Fish Snack.



Also a bunch of visual improvements such as: a low-health indicator and a more clear "RUN" button and Boss Timers:



I also want to mention that Steam Cloud will be fully working after this update.

Post-update patch

Thank you for an absolutely successful release of the new big content update!

Here are some post-update fixes and changes, that i discovered during the launch.

Bugfixes:
"Summon Bug" and "raise dead" (Summoner) sometimes made you unable to RUN.
Final boss sprite-depth lowered.
Earth spike slays a monster faster.
Smite (Priest) can no longer be used to kill yourself.
Fire charge text more centered.
Thief caches now dissappear after a game.
Gamebreaking bug: Using alchemist staff on the Dwarf monster, would permanently decrease your inventory slots by 1.

Balance changes:
Jesters hat +10 gold cost.
earth spike: execute at 4 or less health --> 5 or less health
mana pact (cursed item): 6 mana --> 7 mana

THIEF BUFFED:
Treasure map: 2 cha --> 1 cha. No longer gives cache on The Blob, but caches are now better.
Merchants: sells lesser damage potions instead of energy.
Silent disguise: You can now steal the big damage potion that spawns in merchants after purchasing the mithrill daggers. Not only lesser potions.
Four Clover: luck deals +2 damage --> luck deals +1 damage for every point in luck.
Mithril daggers: costs +10 gold.

Priest nerfed:
Vitality: -1 healing at level 1
Healing wand: Now starts with +3 health and +3 max health. It will now scale max health first (+4 at level 2) instead of health first. This results in a little less healing overall.

General changes:
You now get +30 gems for winning with a class for the first time! (Visible in the victory screen if you win for the first time)
Legendary mode draft phase streamlined and added an option to spend 8 gold to get special events.


WHAT'S TO COME?
The next update i will be working on will be "The big item update" with a ton of new items.
There will also be an updated and interactive tutorial as well as a "Gem shop" in which you can spend gems to buy special items that spawn in shops, more avatars etc.

HUGE CONTENT UPDATE

Well met, monster-slayers!

For the past months, a vast update has been under development.
And it has now been released!
In the days following the update, I will be working on some small post-update fixes that will go live in a week or so.



I hereby present the full changelog of the new update:

Big changes:

  • NEW GAME MECHANIC: Attributes and skills! These add a lot more interaction and strategy.
  • Every class now has 3 unique unlockable skills.
  • Leveling up lets you spend points on attributes!
  • All skills require specific attributes to unlock.
  • Health bars and experience bars for more eye-stimulation.
  • White background in the player-area for more clarity.
  • New Special Event when you slay The Blob: Class Trainer. Choose one of two attributes for 20$
  • General player stats and player avatar added to the menu screen.
  • Avatar selection added under 'Collection'






New smaller content & changes:

  • Level-up sound and animation added.
  • EXP icon updated to resemble experience better.
  • Gem prices to unlock classes have been revised.
  • "Bend Time" event can now only occur once per area.
  • You can now right-click on health, EXP, gold and skills.
  • Added a better fade-in screen.
  • All melee weapons and class abilities now have hotkeys: Q, W, E, R. (and RUN: Space)



Balance changes:

  • ALL MONSTERS IN THE GAME HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY RE-BALANCED
  • Area 1 is now a lot easier. Area 2 is harder than before. Area 3 and Final Boss are a lot harder than before.
  • EXP Needed to level up lowered by 5 at all levels.
  • Intellect (Mage): 3 EXP --> 2 EXP
  • Slow time now costs 5 energy to use.
  • Warlock Greed path: You now sacrifice (level + 4) health to choose the "greed path" which is more balanced and resembles "greed" a lot more.
  • Death Scepter (Warlock): Now deals 2 damage, and restores only 1 health at level 1.
  • Vitality (Priest): 6 hp over 6 runs --> 5 hp over 5 runs
  • Healing Wand (Priest): 5 max hp --> 4 max hp
  • Priest level-scaling lowered.
  • (Bend Time event) Restart area now costs 5 health.
  • (Bend Time event) Permanently increase boss timer lowered from 8 to 3
  • Dark Grimoire: 2 HP for 3 EXP --> 2 HP for 2 EXP



Bug fixes:

  • Coin amulet collection icon fixed.
  • Fixed: Mana stone and Stone Set did not work with Templar's glove.
  • Potions from "Potion Draft" event now goes away properly if you don't choose any potions.
  • Monster special effects were missing on the 3 summoner 'Eyeballs'
  • Rifle sound-effect volume increased.
  • Also many small fixes that are too many to write down.
  • Also some small quality of life improvements here and there.



I appreciate the continued love and support for Monsters and Weapons.

BIG NEWS

LADIES, GENTLEMEN AND EVERYONE ELSE


I am currently working on a rather big content update for Monsters and Weapons.

RELEASE DATE: 23rd of april 2022


This new content update will feature:

  • New Game Mechanic: Skills. Every class will have 3 unique skills that you unlock during a game.

  • New Game Mechanic: Attributes. Spend points in attributes when you level up. These have different benefits.

  • Big balance changes. Every monster in the game will be revised. The game will be easier in area 1, but area 2 will be harder, and area 3 & final boss will be a lot harder.

  • NEW UI: Health bars and EXP bars will be added for a clearer and more visual UI.

  • Some items in the game will see some serious rebalancing.

  • Tons of more small changes, nerfs and buffs to classes, bug fixes etc.


The big "Item Update" as mentioned in an earlier news messege, will be postponed in favor of this huge content update.
Once all the skills, attributes and new game balance have been implemented, i will start working on all these new items which will come in "The big Item Update" later this year.

SFX UPDATE

-Hello fellow-

As a result of an unexpected coronaisolation i have had some extra time to work on some of your most requested features following the launch.
-And they are ready to experience!

This patch mainly offers a grand palette of all new SOUND EFFECTS.
All clickable items, weapons, abilities and some buttons now have a wide variety of sound effects to further enhance your MaW experience.
These can of course be turned off in the settings.

Additionally there are a bunch of balance changes. The biggest one being a nerf to the Priest class.
Priest has always been a strong class, but your feedback solidified once and for all, that Priest needed a noticable nerf.
Hopefully it is more on par with the other classes now.

PATCH NOTES:
Jesters hat cost 20 -> 25
Jesters hat chance of loot being "2 mana" slightly lowered.
Potion stone cost 10 -> 15
Fire charge cost 15 -> 25
Final boss (normal mode) health 200 -> 250
Coin amulet (temp. item) 10 gold per monster -> 15 gold per monster.
Rifle deals 1 dmg (1 ammo) -> deals 2 dmg (2 ammo)
Slow time cost 15 -> 20
The gem cost for unlocking classes have been slightly adjusted.
Vitality (Priest) 7 health over 7 runs -> 6 health over 6 runs
Healing wand (Priest) Restore 5 HP and +5 Max HP -> Restore 3 HP and +5 Max HP.
Sound effects added to the game!

Small hotfix - huge thank you!

HOORAY for a successful launch of Monsters and Weapons.
Your support means a lot to me since this is my first game!

Hotfix updates:
Some monsters on area 1 had their health lowered.
Assassin's "sharpened blade" changed to start at "4 or less energy"
Summoner's "Purple eye" health lowered.

Assassin text fixed.
Class master achievement fixed.
Fixed a Thief bug fixed where he could not get more attack on the daggers.
Some code cleanup.
