Moo Lander, the World’s First Mootroidvania, Is Now Available
Plovdiv, Bulgaria – May 27, 2022 – When the Sixth Hammer studio cow, kindly granted to us by the Bulgarian government, got her hoofs on Moo Lander for the first time, she was disappointed to find out the hero isn’t a space bovine hunter called Sa-Moos. Instead, that hero is you, a lone adventurer desperately fighting the boss taurus menace in a bid to save your home. Moo Lander is now available on PlayStation®, Xbox, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch version stampeding your way later this fall.
In Moo Lander, you play as civilization’s only hope, an explorer dispatched to ancient worlds, tasked with securing a continuous supply of the galaxy’s most potent energy source: milk.
The lacteal mysteries of how this bovine marvel powers entire planets are not yours to understand. You have matters more important than pondering the galaxy’s workings anyway, namely, a herd of Mighty Cows determined to stop you at all costs.
The journey takes you to bucolic pastures, sun-dappled forests, sinister swamps, and more, all hand-painted and stunningly beautiful – and each ruled by a Mighty Cow. The Sixth Hammer’s Cow AI powers Moo Lander’s Mighty Cows, making every encounter uniquely dangerous and fraught with tension.
Granny Toxic blasts the air with poisonous fumes to end you, while the undead Necowmancer Lady Bones is summoned by ancient spirits to guard over the precious substance. Supreme Spider Cow – it’s a thing – uses her sticky webs and spit to control the battlefield. But none of them match the ferocity of the Cowger, always one step ahead of every other bovine creature. The reverend Ancient Mighty Cows cannot be fought with normal methods, though. You’ll have to use your wits and figure out non-lethal ways to tame these beasts.
If you need a break from the main campaign, rustle up some friends and dive into Moo Lander’s moo-ltiplayer modes in couch co-op or remotely via Steam Remote Play. Take on the powerful Cow AI together or throw all the chips down in fierce PvP combat. Survive the Waves mode has you taking on cow-pious enemies on the battlefield. You can even play football with a cow!

The Mooltiplayer
You are reading it right – Moo Lander has an awesome mooltiplayer, and we even give you the option to play as The Cow! How cool is that? The demo presents several special arena maps and three multiplayer mods – PvP, PvE and Galactic Mooball. Gather some friends to go up against the AI cows, or gear up and do a 2 Landers vs 2 Cows, all controlled by the players. Best enjoyed with a gamepad, the Moo Lander couch co-op moopltiplayer supports Steam Remote Play as well, so you don’t have to be in one room to enjoy some quality gaming time together with your friends.
“Mars is one beautiful place!”
With an upgraded art style, graphics, particle effects and shaders, Moo Lander will stun you with beauty and detail. Get to know our world better, immerse yourself within the strange planet that is Mars – with its lush flora, dangerous, but memorable fauna, environmental hazards, and last, but not least – The Ancient Mighty Cows. They protect the cosmic milk, and you aim to get it in order to save your dying civilization.
Demo Length
With all that being said, the new Moo Lander demo is extended to about 25-40 minutes of intense gameplay, not including the mooltiplayer options. There are also three difficult levels added – easy, normal and hard. The last one being for those of you who fancy a souls-like challenge. Expect environmental puzzles as well, and many, many alien creatures along the way to victory. But you don’t have to be alone in this journey – you can invite some friends over to enjoy the 4-player couch co-op multiplayer!

Presenting – The Moo Lander demo 3.0
We have several important improvements, as well as some small additions, all of which will be very subtle in the demo itself. If you’ve played the previous demo, you will experience the new one as something very familiar, but different (but still the same). Let’s dive into the specifics:
Milk Saber rework

We know everyone’s favorite milk-powered weapon is the Milk Saber, but we felt that it was too powerful – one can slice and dice through everything with the fast movement of the weapon. We had to balance the sword with fewer and slower swings. Now you have a four-swing combo, and the last swing is more powerful than the previous, in a larger arc. We’ve added a cool camera shake effect to the weapon, so it feels heavier and more powerful.
Milk Shield rework
[previewyoutube="fduI77T7vIs;full"]The Milk Shield was also not exactly what we were looking for, so we reworked it in an elegant way – upon milk shield activation, the player losses milk only once and has a 5 points counter on the shield. This means the shield can protect you five times, and after the fifth time it deactivates. Then you can simply activate it again, for the same cost of milk. If you keep the shield active, no milk is drained, and if you deactivate the shield with all the five points of the counter intact, you get some milk refunded.
Three new unlockable skins added
In addition to the one skin that was available in the previous demo, we have added three more! How cool is that! They are extremely hard to collect though, so we leave the figuring out to you guys.
Research panel rework
[previewyoutube="rk7fVqt2lpQ;full"]The old research panel was way too big and clunky, so now we’ve made it more practical, with all the info on the research materials you need. The passive bonuses of the skins themselves are also explained to the fullest detail. This way we also build upon the lore of our alien world of Landers and Mighty Cows.
Skin perks rework
We’ve redesigned the passive perks of the skins so that they are viable in the gameplay, interesting and really fun to use. You will enjoy the new skins’ passive perks in the demo, if you manage to find them that is.
Overall visual improvements
We have enhanced our graphics even further, with some small additions of particles, shaders and practical effects when needed. You will be immersed in the world of Moo Lander with even more visual elements than before.
Camera view fluidity
It is important for the players to know what is going on during gameplay, and with all that flying around, it is imperative that our camera play is top notch. We have improved our camera views, achieving more fluidity in the process. The results are a smoother camera feel and enhanced overall gameplay flow.
“Ask Hamilton” lore feature added

We felt our world is big and it deserves proper lore elements. That’s why we have added a special, optional feature – you can ask your ship’s AI, Hamilton, about the various flora and fauna of the game. During your first encounters with a new enemy or a neutral creature, Hamilton will brief you about its origins and purpose in the world of Moo Lander. You can skip these “lore drops” if you like, but you will miss out on some important information that will help you on your future adventures. And it is all voiced!
Tweaked difficulty levels
Our three main difficulty levels are now – “cheasy”, “normal” and “legendairy”, and they truly count! If you want to fly your way through the demo, cheasy style, then the first option is for you. The normal option is just that – a balanced playthrough, not too hard, and definitely not too easy. And the last, legendairy option, puts you against the hardest of conditions. See if you have what it takes to take on that one!
Harder enemy variations added
Maybe the biggest addition up to now, we have added different, tougher variations of the demo enemies, corresponding to each of the difficulty levels. More health, more damage and more aggressive behavior – you will know them by the different color.
Galactic Mooball

Due to the popularity of our soccer mode, we have unlocked The Galactic Mooltiplayer mode! Play with up to three of your friends in a match of 2vs2 in several different arenas, lots of different mooballs, and don’t forget – you can play as a Mighty Cow! This new feature will add lots and lots of hours of fun to our demo, and we hope you take advantage!
The Same, but Different!
This will be the last demo for our fans before we release the full version of the game. We hope that we’ve managed to showcase all our unique gameplay elements to the best of our ability with this 3.0 Moo Lander demo. Moo Lander is participating in the Rogue Jam competition

Moo Lander’s first international Galactic Mooball competition is almost here!

When do we start?
The Galactic Mooball competition will be held exclusively during this year’s Gamescom!
• COMPETITION START: 25th of August
• COMPETITION END: 29th of August (included)
Between these two dates, our free Steam demo will be updated with this cool new multiplayer mode, which is basically a soccer simulation, but with cows and flying spaceships. You will earn points for each goal scored. As these points accumulate, the leaderboards will take shape with the Mooball champions on top!
How to participate?
Participation in the Galactic Mooball global competition is simple as one, two, three:
1. Download Moo Lander’s free Steam demo and install.
2. Get a gamepad ready.
3. In the Mooltiplayer section, select the “Galactic Mooball” option.
4. Start scoring goals with your friends, either locally or via Steam Remote Play.
Every scored goal will earn you points in our leaderboards, which will be situated in the game’s website.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
For local co-op play only! In the character’s screen, all participants MUST RENAME their respective character and USE THEIR STEAM NAME as a username. Otherwise results will not be valid. Names are CASE SENSITIVE:

Choose your side!
The Galactic Mooball multiplayer mode requires you to choose one of two sides – either The Landers or The Ancient Mighty Cows. These two factions have their own playstyle and abilities – The Landers handle the ball with The Milk Saber and are airborne the whole time, whereas the Mighty Cows stomp in front of them to tackle the ball, but are mostly grounded (which doesn’t mean they are helpless!).

Of course, every good galactic sport needs its own fantastic arena. You have a wide variety of different Galactic Mooball arenas, each with its unique terrain, environmental mechanics and obstacles. And to boot, we’ve added over 20 different soccer balls, each with a preset of distinct physical properties. All this guarantees that every single Galactic Mooball match will be a one of a kind experience!

What’s a fun game without a family friendly couch co-op? We’ve got some really cool multiplayer local modes – like PvP, PvE, cow chases, survive the waves, and the most interesting one – The Galactic Mooball! It’s all explained in the short Documentary.
Ancient Mighty Cows
We pride ourselves with our Ancient Mighty Cows! Over 20 of them will be waiting in Moo Lander – every single one with its own unique abilities, special attacks and behavior. After all, we have crafted a special AI just for the cows.
There IS a Cow Level
Whoever said “there is no cow level” clearly didn’t understand cosmic milk and universal cows. In Moo Lander, there is, indeed, a cow level – in fact, every level is a cow level. You can be a part of it, just hop in on the action and start taming those mighty cows.
Galactic soccer comes to Moo Lander’s Mooltiplayer
The fantastic Euro soccer tournament 2020 may have come to pass, but in the world of Moo Lander, the football action is just beginning. We present to you our newest mooltiplayer local co-op mode – “The Galactic Mooball”. Choose your team, choose a Lander or a Mighty Cow, and get to the scoring! You have three minutes to score as many goals as possible, on some pretty crazy arenas with environmental obstacles, devices and treacherous terrain. The milky ball of bouncing milk-particles is yours to dominate.
So how exactly does this work?
Here are the simple steps of The Galactic Mooball:
• Step 1 – choose a side – pick your team and there will be an automatically generated Galactic Team! LiverMool, Cowselona or Moonchester United are just several of them.
• Step 2 – choose a race – decide whether to play as a Lander or as a Mighty Cow. Remember, both races have a unique approach to the Mooball in terms of move sets. The combinations can be several – a team of two Cows, a team of two Landers, or a mixed one with one Cow and one Lander.
• Step 3 – choose an arena – currently there are six distinct Mooball arenas to choose from, each with its completely different feel and style of play. More arenas are planned down the line for future Mooball seasons.
• Step 4 – get to the kickin’! Start your game, you have 3:00 minutes to score more pints than the other team.
