Moon Mystery

Captain's Log November

Dear Earth friends:

We’d love to show you the inside of one of our levels.

The hallways leading to the unknown are always a great place to start! Look at the views outside the windows. (Space sure is dark, isn't it?)

This level will involve a little bit of this (puzzles) and a little bit of that (pew pew).

Look at all these tablets in this room! Hopefully they’ll contain a clue.

Sun’s out, guns out! You’ll have a range of weapons to choose from while solving the mystery on the moon. Here’s a couple examples:

Nothing to see here. Everything is definitely normal.

Very much so normal here.

You’ll also meet robots and other beings while you explore in different locations.
Such as this new friend in a storage room!

…at least, I hope he’s a friend. (He’s probably not, so let’s back away for now.)

Remember to always be careful - they could be anywhere!

Yes, even in your other storage rooms.

And especially in your hallways.

Wow, all that exploring has made me exhausted. Just like our robotic friends who are, uh, napping on the floor. (Definitely napping.) I should probably take a nap and recharge too! But real quick, here's a sneak peak of the interaction animations we are working on!

As always, thank you everyone for your continued support. We couldn’t do it without you! Don’t forget to join our Discord and follow us on Twitter and TikTok for more Moon Mystery updates.

Captain's Log - October

Dear Earth friends:

We have some really cool visual updates we’d love to share with you all today!

First of all, our wonderful artists have blessed us with some new illustrations. Let’s have a peek at these journal pages!

While we’re immersed in exploration, we sometimes meet robots. Sometimes they’re friendly. Sometimes, they’re not. This is what one of the robots we meet looks like!

Y’know when you really get the itch to create things but you just don’t have enough material? Well, this material is blue and you can use it to craft items for future use! Keep an eye out for these!

One of the items in the game is a philar. This is what it looks like! You’ll have to wait to see what it’s used for in the game 😉 but we promise it’ll blow your mind.

Last but not least of our artist’s gifts to us this month, we have a drawing of a portal. You go in one end, and you come out on Earth - or vice versa. Super exciting!

In other news…
We’ve created a new level!

This new level is going to be in space, and there will be mostly platforming elements to give the game a different feel and playstyle. We can’t wait for you to explore and experience it!

As always, thank you everyone for your continued support. We couldn’t do it without you! Don’t forget to join our Discord and follow us on Twitter and TikTok for more Moon Mystery updates.

Captains Log - September

Dear Earth friends:

We have some really cool visual updates we’d love to share with you all today.

During your journey on the moon, you write letters to yourself in your diary.
Here’s how this looked originally…

…and now a look at what our great illustrator did with our letters! Inspired by Gone Home (the game), the astronaut will read the letters out loud when viewing. We can’t wait for you to hear all the letters read out loud!

In case the handwriting is a bit hard for you to read, there will also be a button to view the regular font.

Walking isn't always the most fun mode of transporation, so we’ve also added a buggy to the game to help you get around.

Here’s a look at when it was first modeled and textured:

And here’s a peek at the real thing in-game!

You can drive it to get around and it has a really cool suspension! Wanna see?
Of course you do! Here’s a sneak peek:

Publisher Announcement!

Hello everyone! We are proud to announce that Moon Mystery is now being published by Freedom Games. For those of you who may not know, a game publisher can take care of a lot of the business and marketing side of releasing a game. That includes managing our store pages, marketing and advertising the game, helping showcase the game at both digital and live events, PR, and a lot more. I was working on the game alone and right now we are a team of 6 people. It’s going to allow us to really focus on development while they take on more of the marketing side of things that will help the game be successful! Also we are right now displayed on Gamescom in the indie game booth arena.

Game updates:

- Redesigned all levels from scratch
- Better lighting, which means a better graphics
- We made main menu
- We are working on adding more weapons, so far we have 4
- We added sliding and slow motion effect to make the gunplay more intense
- We have a great Sound Designer who is replacing every sound in the game
- We are working on another vehicle, sci-fi buggy
- We added a lot of conversations between you and the AI robot companion
- We are working on the the skill tree

Thank you all for supporting us so far throughout development. Without all of your support, we may never have been able to get to this amazing milestone. With this extra support, we’re going to be working to get our dev updates more often for you all to get a little behind the scenes of what’s going on. If you have any specific questions or topics you want us to cover, please comment below this post! Otherwise, join our Discord and suggest it there!
