The many wonders of Moonshot Galaxy could never have been built without the industrious labors of hard working ball bots at the Moonshot Mining Company.
Our second brand new course, Moonshot Mining Co. features a variety of powerful equipment you can leverage to seize that elusive hole-in-one. Wind your way through each of our planetary contraptions and cap your stay with a turn through Goldberg, a mighty production line composed of an entire system of planets all its own. But wait, did you collect the batteries on prior planets to power these mighty machines? Find them all, and fire up the line!
Below you'll see just a few of the highlights you'll find at Moonshot Mining Co. – take a tour of the place that powers it all!
Greetings from... Forbidden Islands!
Our major content update last week added a couple of crazy new courses. Forbidden Islands takes you to a tropical tiki paradise, where not all is as tranquil as it seems. You'll find planets featuring a variety of timing challenges, and even, dare we say it... a boss battle? Here are just a few of the sights in store for intrepid galactic explorers!

New Content for Moonshot Galaxy™ Available Now
Two new courses have been added to Moonshot Galaxy. If you purchased the game last year as "Galaxy Golf" you should automatically receive the updated build.
Thanks for supporting us!
*If you aren't seeing the update come through, please exit the Steam client entirely. If you are still not seeing it, please uninstall and re-install the game.*
Galaxy Golf is now Moonshot Galaxy™ + New Content REALLY SOON!
tl;dr
- Moonshot Galaxy™ is a less confusing name, based on player feedback.
- We’ve cooked up two new courses and they’re coming SOOOON.

We conducted player surveys about Galaxy Golf and received some helpful feedback. The most glaring thing amongst player responses was the word “Golf” was a little off base. It created an assumption the game would be “just golf in space”. Many customers reported they really enjoyed the game, but were also surprised to find there were no golf clubs or swing involved. Taking this into account, we wanted to rebrand the title with something better suiting the nature of the game. It’s a small change, but should help redefine the impression of the game. We settled on Moonshot Galaxy™.
Since the initial launch last year, Liftoff worked on adding leaderboards as well as additional content and refined mechanics. The team also created a build of the game for PlayStation®VR, which will hopefully go live next week, assuming everything goes to plan. The game content has doubled - two new courses with dramatically different aesthetics, new achievements, and continued option of “Pro Mode” for a hardcore challenge. As a token of appreciation, players who supported the first iteration of the game will automatically receive the full Moonshot Galaxy™ update as it goes live on each VR platform. We’ll post another announcement when the full content is released.
Thanks again for the support of our game; we hope you enjoy the new levels!
New Year update
Fresh for the New Year, we have a few bug fixes and updates for Galaxy Golf:
• Added a neat new key unlock feature for opening up Frosty Brimstone once you finish Pleasant Hills. This is cool now, but it will be more interesting once we add more courses. :)
• Polished up some other stuff in the main menu.
• Made some improvements to ball follow mode with the gamepad.
• Made it easier to toss planets out into space, where they belong.
• Fixed a number of issues with various planets. Nit-picky little stuff that only we noticed. But we care, and we don’t like bugs. This is how we show it – with a big can of Bug-B-Gone.
Enjoy, and have fun out there!
Tips and Tricks!
Most people have a really easy time getting into the Galaxy Golf controls, but here are some tips that might help you up your game:
- While you're aiming, if the shot arc is blue then the shot is clear. If it's gray or red, something's in the way – maybe the tee sign or the edge of the platform?
- If you're using motion controls, you can aim with one hand and spin the planet around with the other! This way you can easily set up long shots.
- Try tossing the planet away from you while aiming, to get a very high shot arc. This is how you get some of the longest and trickiest shots in the game. It's possible to hole-in-one a few of the planets this way.
- You can cancel a shot by dropping the ghost ball back where it started, or pressing the Menu/B buttons.
- The difference between Easy and Pro modes is obvious with a gamepad: you get an aiming reticle or you don't. With tracked controllers, the shot arc will either extend past your hand so you can see where you're aiming, or in Pro mode it will only show about 30% of the arc so you have to eyeball the shot.
- To post a leaderboard score, you have to play through a whole course without using the Skip or Restart buttons. To post a Pro score, you have to take every single shot in Pro mode.
Happy New Year and good luck galactic golfing everybody! Keep an eye out for fresh new courses in a few weeks!
Oculus Touch and Leaderboards Update!
We've been working super hard on Galaxy Golf since the first release. A lot of that work has been under the hood to make the game more maintainable going forward. Now that Oculus Touch is out we are updating the Steam release with Oculus Touch support. We no longer need to have multiple launch options to support the Rift and the Vive, and you can switch between gamepad and motion control on the fly. Woot!
But also: Leaderboards! We wanted to get these in for the first release but ran out of time. Here they are now, so you can compete worldwide to hit the best scores for each course. Little tip? We believe it's possible to finish Pleasant Hills in just 11 shots. Challenge accepted?
We also went through the whole game to clean up and improve each and every planet. Previously we had slightly different versions for the Rift and the Vive, and that's all out now. Everything's better and we smoothed over a bunch of rough edges in these two courses.
Next up will be a content update. Expect two new courses early next year!
