Level Building Contest Winners and More!




Hey there people who wish they won the contest,



After an extremely long and also very fun process, we're ready to announce the winners of the LEVEL BUILDING CONTEST

A lot of the submissions were seriously awesome and we had a lot of fun playing your levels, but when push comes to shove the absolute best level packs where made by:

The 2 Year Adventure Update is now LIVE!



Guess who’s not a baby anymore, baby? Right, it’s our baby, Move or Die! Confused yet? Great! That’s what toddlers do.

And now that we’re finally on solids we’re about to make you one - a very special kind of update strapped to a big, block-lettered Thank You note for patiently putting up with our antics these past two years. And as Move or Die matures from recently birthed to handsomely coming of age, we bring you tidings of bests yet to come.

Introducing the :starite:2 YEAR ADVENTURE UPDATE:starite:

This short and sweet update comes with the following in-game goodies

  • Bid War Section (Shout-to-win mechanics up and running!)
  • Consumable Section (Pimp your playtime, fellow kids!)
  • 3 New Trails


During this anniversary, the game is at -65% on Steam.

We’ve also drawn a pretty road (space?) map of our journey so far with a special video going through Move or Die’s History over on the move or die website

Move or Die turns TWO! Can you guess what we’re gonna DO?



As New Year’s resolutions unravel like the threads of so many Christmas sweaters being hurled back into captivity, we’d like to get under way with our newest of updates. And it’s a doozy!

Introducing the 2 Year Adventure Update

As you may or may not have heard or cared, this update marks Move or Die’s Two Year Anniversary and comes as a sort of “thanks for sticking around this long please don’t ever leave” gift for you lovable lot. Here’s what to expect and fuss over for a while.

  • Bid Wars! (You know those reality TV auction shows? It’ll be nothing like that.)
  • Cosmetic Consumables! (Become the most special of snowflakes!)
  • A Journey through another year of Move or Die!

Announcing the Level Building Contest!



Hey there people who still write 2017 in the date field.



Let's put that holiday belly to work with something really exciting.

Introducing the

MOVE OR DIE LEVEL BUILDING CONTEST



We see you guys already know the modding way pretty well, so we figured it's time for an actual challenge.

In the Level Building Contest we want you to make a Move or Die Level Pack consisting of at least 5 Levels.

Here's how to enter:


We will select 3 winners that will receive prizes based on their standings and overall quality. Any level or level pack that we consider amazing will make it into the game (as an official level), even if it wasn’t one of the winning 3!

The top 3 prizes are:

  • 1st Place: 500 USD, a Move or Die 4 Pack and Yourself as a Hidden Character In the game
  • 2nd Place: 200 USD, a Move or Die 4 Pack and your design for a trail in the game.
  • 3rd Place: 100 USD and a Move or Die 4 Pack.


The Submission Deadline for this contest is the 17th of January at 23:59 GMT. Submit your entry before then.

PS4 Delay & Mutator Clarification




Hey there abominable snowpeople,



We're taking a teeny break from the stupendously hard life that is video game development, but your voices have still made it all the way up the mountain.

So here's a short Devlog about two things:

  • PS4 Version for Move or Die
  • Problems with Mutators not being converted to coins after the recent update.


We're aware of the issues surrounding the update and have already pushed a number of fixes. We're working on the rest and checking out all the reports.

OUT NOW! THE GREEN & GOLD UPDATE

Our very own Nick has finally awoken from his Dickensian fever dream (hehe...I said the funny word) and pressed the magical secret developer button. The wait is officially over and the Green&Gold Update has already unpacked itself with showers of cheerful holiday data!

Here’s what you can expect when all of that is said and done:


  • THE NEW NOT-A-STORE is now available! This comes alongside a New In-Game Currency (NOT-COINS) and slight changes to how unlocks work. HERE'S A HANDY VIDEO ABOUT HOW ALL OF THIS WORKS
  • MODS IN ONLINE PRIVATE LOBBIES are now available! So you and your friends can spice up your friendly duels.
  • 7 NEW CHARACTERS! Each with their own set of funny faces.
  • 7 NEW MUTATORS
  • 4 NEW GAME MODES
  • CUSTOMIZABLE TRAILS FOR YOUR CHARACTERS!

Announcing the Green & Gold Update!



Ho Ho How's it hanging?



Well the bells are now ringing, the hot chocolates are simmering and those large ugly sweaters are out of their drawer. It’s that most wonderful season that gives devs the best of reasons to update their games with snowy main menus and silly holiday lore.

Now this year, we made a proper list, checked it more than twice, trying to see how we could please as many of you as possible, regardless of being naughty or nice.

We brought out our good wrapping paper and flashy ribbon bows for these special gifts, so here’s what you can expect in your stockings in just 7 days, on the 21st of December 2017

The GREEN & GOLD Update

  • Brand New In-Game Store (there’s tons of new stuff in there...and all of your old stuff too!)
  • Customizable Trails for your Characters (give them duck trails, or fingernails or even coins that flip only tails!)
  • 7 Brand New Characters (which may include friends from the past and visions from the future!)
  • A bunch of New Game Modes (some completely original, some others, not so much!)
  • More than a couple of New Mutators (some of which you’ll love and some of which will annoy your friends to tears!)
  • Online Mods for Friend Matches (YES! Steam Workshop mods are now playable in private lobbies against your friends!)
  • And more™

What's up with the upcoming In-Game Store?




Hey there pitchfork enthusiasts!



We recently announced a teeny-weeny, itty-bitty change to Move or Die part of the upcoming Winter Update, namely the New Item Management System.

Ok, I lied. It's not that teeny or that weeny, it's actually pretty big. That's why we made a new Devlog explaining exactly what's going to happen.

We also read through all the feedback and the comments (yes, even the racist ones) and based on that we came up with a couple of ideas for the transition between the old and new systems.

We'd love to hear your feedback and any ideas you have about this upcoming change.

Upcoming Item System Overhaul



Hello there friends and hoarders!

Recently we’ve been taking some good long looks in the mirror every morning and the general consensus was that we definitely need to cut down on the carbs.

Also, some of our older implemented systems probably need a little grooming.

TL;DR:

  • We’re retiring the Steam-based item inventory system.
  • There’s gonna be a newly designed one WITHIN the actual game.
  • Your current Move or Die items will be converted from Steam Inventory items to in-game items.
  • Progression remains strictly related to playing the game (put that sense of accomplishment back in your wallet).
  • No downtime between system shifts (you won't feel a thing).
  • You won’t loose anything and you will retain the value of current duplicates! (all items you had previously will be converted to the new system).
  • Reward system is also getting tweeks. Random rewards and unlocks will still be in, but future duplicates will still be useful through a new system.
  • Less confusion, more awesomeness!
  • It’s coming before the end of the year.
