After months of working towards my first full fledged video game, I am pleased to announce that My Pet Rock has finally reached a state where it is ready for release.
Along with the release, here are a few changes and improvements that have been added since the last round of updates:
- Ally kills no longer provide the player life steal / drone spawns
- Information for certain shop items now save
- The Final boss has been added
- A new gui for the harvester has been added
- The lawyer can now be unlocked
- Added more player upgrades in the shop
- Added graphics and full functionality to the ally upgrade tree
- Fixed bug where buying ally upgrade did not require the previous upgrade
- The experience bar now correctly shows progress
- Added text to show controls and instructions for the metal exchange
- Getting three bosses on the slot machine no longer crashes the game
- Boulder bandages cannot be purchased when the planet is at maximum health
- Improved selling system, selling no longer destroys all boss items
- Fixed sound issues with the decoy planet
- Added sounds for the laser and flamethrower
- Certain start messages no longer appear when playing a save game
- An indicator has been added when the player is low health
- Certain Enemy types now appear at later waves
- The Space Recruiter boss now shoots / scales in difficulty during later waves
- Fixed the Famer's Active and replaced graphics
- V-sync no longer freezes the game
- Aimbotter boss modifier now works for Trigger-Happy and Space Recruiter bosses
- Fixed a bug where a save game could be continued despite losing
Upcoming Additions / changes
- Selecting drones to upgrade via shop - In case of overlapping allies where certain ones cannot be selected to upgrade
- Survival Mode - A challenge modifier which increases difficulty, and emphasizes planet and resource management
Additional thanks go out to all of my close friends and those who helped beta test the game and really helped bring the gameplay to what it is today. Rest Assured this game will be receiving many more improvements, changes, and additions.
