Last few weeks I was working on new updated character creator system. I'm using 5 big personality types to give traits to the character. Traits are important in social interaction as if a player's traits matched with another character while interacting it gives him better opportunity of forming a relationship with him. It also affects needs generated over time for player. for example, if your player is not social then performing social interaction like chatting with other character will drain out his energy quickly. It is important that you share same personality type with your partner. Beta is coming out next week please join it and provide your input on the game.
Sales Pitch and Marketing
The type of customer who will visit your shop depends on the advertisement method used. Each type of customer has different preferences about a product, cheapskates want to buy products below their list price, and Big spenders are more interested in a product with the best performance and great build quality. Every customer has a mood bar over his head, when he is checking out the product it shows his conviction to buy the product. In some cases, they need further assistance or you can just negotiate with the customer to sell product.
While negotiating with the customer, look into customer detail to see his type. It will help you to perfectly set attribute points while creating a sales pitch. While Tech-savvy customers will like you to talk more about the product's performance but it can backfire if the product's performance rating is bad. You can also offer customers an additional discount to close the deal. If the product's build quality is poor then there are more chances that sooner or later customers will return to the shop to return the product it is up to the player to accept or reject the service request. If the popular product is not available then sometimes customers will request to buy it. Again it is up to the player to accept or reject the request.
You can use marketing to attract a particular type of customer and increase their frequency of visits. Current shows types of customer you are attracting, while potential shows change in future after adjusting marketing budget with different options.
Customer Interaction System
My main inspiration for this game is "Open for business". I always dreamt of making game with in depth tycoon system but controls and feel(personal and relationship aspect) like Sims.
Tasks Player can not only control his character but also other employee's too. There is task system in the game, select any character and give him task. Character will keep following his task's list. You can assign employee to certain roles with this system.
Customer Interaction System Player gets multiple option to interact with customer, you can even kick or insult customer but it will reduce your reputation. You can use freely use these options on thief's.
When you interact with any customer note his type, There are different personality types which generates based on your advertisement method's but each type takes different things into consideration before purchasing any product ex:- Before purchasing "Cheapskates" will check if product's current listing price is less or more than average market price. When you interact with them you need to focus more on Cost aspect of the product to sell them but it will only work if your product is actually cheaper than its average market price. They don't give that much importance to other aspect like performance or build quality. Average market price of any product is based on its supply chain, if supply is less then price will get increased. I wasn't able to push beta last week due to some reason's but by end of this week I will post it on itch or maybe on Steam. Thanks.
Graphics Update
Hello, Finally after months of hard work I managed to update graphics from low poly to high poly. It is still not completely finished yet but I'm happy with how the game is looking now.
I decided to release the game as an early access title because I feel I can even further update the customer interaction system which is currently in place. Retail is boring without unique customer experiences I want this game to provide such experience to players. For example, the customer is asking steep discount you can now just kick him out or insult him. The difference between this and my other games are this will be unfiltered more like games I love playing you can kick in the groin, insult a customer, punch them in the face there are tons of different ways to do business.
