Hello Visionstead Studio here. I want to start off by saying thank you to everyone who has supported Mython Island recently. It means a lot to me! Today I've updated the game to version 1.1 which brings some small changes and fixes. You can find more below, thank you for playing!
I've added in a UI element when playing Island Adventure mode that will display the hotkeys necessary for opening the main menu. I've received messages from players unable to determine the main menu hotkey so this should solve any issues.
In addition to the UI I've reduced certain post processing settings slightly more for a moderate performance boost and fixed issues regarding the way various objects were being displayed in the Island Adventure mode.
Skills learned by certain Mython have been adjusted in addition to adjusting status development values for certain Mython.

Mython Island 1.0 Patch Fixes
Hello everyone! Visionstead Studio here. First off I wanted to say thank you for all of the recent support of the game. I've applied an update this morning to compress the game down further back to 4 GB. If you download the update it will apply this and save you some storage space.
I've also fixed issues related to certain audio sounds and a few different instances of battle animations that were giving people some trouble.

Mython Island Launch Version 1.0!
Hello everyone! Visionstead Studio here happy to say that Mython Island is complete! I've uploaded version 1.0 and it is now live for everyone. This marks the full release of Mython Island. To celebrate to game will be featuring a 25% launch discount, many thanks to everyone who supports my game.
Mython Island is releasing with an Open Island Adventure Mode, 3 Different Survival Modes, and over 100 unique Mython to encounter and collect. Version 1.0 brings fixes to a handful of bugs in the game as well as improves on optimization. More details can be found below.
I sincerely want to thank anyone who has given this game a chance, it's been a long journey to get to this point but I wouldn't have been able to do it without the support from players over the development process. Thank you all.

Mython Island Adventure Update! Version 0.2.0!
[previewyoutube="Asht3yljxw8;full"] Hello everyone! Visionstead Studio here happy to announce that I've completed everything necessary to launch version 0.2.0 of Mython Island and it is now live! Otherwise known as the Island Adventure update this update is what I've been hard at work on over the past year or so. Adding in a large Open Island Adventure, new Survival game modes, updated Lighting and Post Processing, new Mython, Skills, Items, Balance Adjustments, a completely brand new OST, 40 Steam Achievements and much more that you can find below. If you want a simple list of changes you can find it at the bottom of this post!
I also want to thank every single person who has given the game a try so far and that I appreciate your patience with waiting for this update. Let's find out what has changed!
Island Adventure Mode
Island Adventure mode is introduced as part of this update. This game mode includes a full length RPG story and gameplay. You'll be tasked by a Traveler on the island to dispatch of the void threat. This task can be accomplished in any order you wish as NPC battles will scale in level as you make story progression. Additionally custom difficulty settings are available in the first village. Options like Easy, Normal and Hard modes along with Permadeath toggles and Experience toggles are available making the game available to play the way you want.
Explore a big island map full of over 100 Mython to discover, NPCs to meet, battles to encounter, side quests to take on, and secrets to find as you set out to eliminate the threat of the void!
Mython Storage System
A few big gameplay features have been added. The first of which is Mython Storage. This feature available within the Island Adventure mode allows you to swap out any Mython that currently won't fit within your party size. Any Mython that you bond with out in the Island will be sent here if your party is full! Additionally you may release any Mython you have bonded here too.
In addition to managing more Mython with this storage system, the ability has now also been added to rearrange your party leader outside of battle. This heavily requested feature is now included in both the Island Adventure mode as well as the Survival game modes!
Fast Forward Feature
If battles are taking a bit too long for your liking you now have the option of using the new Fast Forward feature. In battle you may toggle this on or off to speed up any battle you are in. This feature is available within Island Adventure as well as the Survival modes.
Mython Teleporter System
If you wish to traverse the island adventure mode quickly be sure to unlock the Teleporter points scattered across the island! Upon unlocking you will be able to travel by teleport system to any previously unlocked teleport point!
Mython Log
The Mython Log has been introduced as part of this update! This feature will be available within the Island Adventure mode and Survival modes! Accessing it will allow you to view information on any Mython you have previously bonded with. You are also able to get a closer look at the Mython!
You may filter the Mython Log by element or choose to view them simply all at once!
Mython Fishing
Upon completing a certain quest on the island you will have access to Mython Fishing! Find any of the fishing points on the map and complete the event for a chance at a Mython Encounter. Each fishing point will have access to different Mython so be sure to check them all!
Radiant Forms
Radiant Forms have been added for each Mython! These radiant forms have a chance to be encountered in all game modes. Each Radiant appears as a different color than it's original form and also have access to an exclusive skill!
Draft Mode
Survival modes have been updated and added as well! The biggest addition is Draft Mode. This game mode will let you choose how you want to play a run of the Survival mode! You can pick your entire team, choose your run settings (permadeath, captures on, story cutscenes) and have access to any items you may want for the run. This provides the ability for players to set the difficulty to settings that they feel they wish to play with. Of course the other roguelike modes will still exist and have received updates as well.
The main story for the roguelike mode has been updated to allow you not only your starting Mython but also an additional choice of a second Mython from a small group of Mython. This allows for a better flow of gameplay early on in the random survival game modes.
These old modes have also all been updated with the wide variety of new Mython, new Skills, and new Items that have been introduced so you will have a lot more options!
In addition to all of this a lot of other changes have been made to refining certain skill animations, redoing certain models, refining calculation of battle damage, rebalancing skills and status effects, adjusting sound levels, and overall making the game a more polished experience.
The game is going to be heading towards a full release in the next couple weeks so I hope you will look forward to it. I want to say thank you again to anyone who has supported me thus far. And I hope that you will enjoy the update!

Mython Island March 2021 Development Newsletter!
Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a great year so far. I wanted to make a post like this going over what I have currently been working on since the last update of the game so no one is left in the dark wondering what is going on with development. I've been working super hard so here's some of what you can expect from the next major update!
**Please keep in mind these images are in development so things could change slightly.
Island Adventure Mode
Island Adventure mode is going to be the biggest part of the new update. It will feature an overworld area for you to explore that is semi open world in which wild Mython will appear. Unlike the roguelike mode this mode will not feature Permadeath automatically enabled however it will be an option to toggle on or off for those who wish to play with that experience. You might notice here too that the lighting has been completely redone, this has been done for the entire game. It is now more optimized than ever before too which has been a consistent goal of mine.
This mode will bring you on a different quest than the roguelike mode. I won't spoil anything but you will have an objective in this game mode to complete while also having plenty of other things to do in this overworld. I've been putting a lot of time into getting the map all setup correctly and completing any necessary systems that will be required for this game mode compared to the overall roguelike game mode. Overall the map is coming along really nicely with a lot of locations to explore and things to do.
I am currently in the process of finishing up this overworld in terms of assets and locations on the map which I estimate to be roughly 70% finished right now. I will then proceed to place all of the necessary NPCs, shops, events, quests, and more. I really am most excited for people to play this game mode and to see what players think.
Mython Storage System
Thanks to island advancements the travelers have begun setting up Mython Storage Centers! Any Mython you bond with while out exploring will have the option of being sent to this storage for future use! These terminals will allow you to access any Mython you have bonded with and add them to your party. (With the usual maximum of 4 per party.)
The option also now exists in the party menu to change your current party lead! This heavily requested option is usable in both the Island Adventure mode as well as roguelike modes.
You also might notice the new HUD that says "Interact", this will appear whenever you are near something that you are capable of interacting with.
Mython Log
The Mython Log will be introduced in the next big update not only for the Island Adventure mode but for the roguelike modes as well. With this log you will be able to take a closer look at Mython that you have bonded with and discover information on them that was previously unknown as well as view the model for that particular Mython.
You have filters which will allow you to sort by Element, or you can just simply look at all of the Mython in one big list! You may notice here too that the title elements of the UI menus here have been completely redone. This has been done across the whole game.
Radiant Forms
Radiant Forms have been added for every single Mython. Radiant Forms are extremely rare forms of Mython that you have the chance of finding in the wild. They have alternative colors as well as glowing effect to them and Radiants even come with an exclusive skill. I hope players will be lucky enough to run into these!
Draft Mode
Of course the game will also feature updates and new things for the roguelike game modes too! The biggest addition will be Draft Mode. This will allow you to essentially choose how you want to play. You can pick your entire team, choose your run settings (permadeath, captures on, story cutscenes) and have access to any items you may want for the run. This provides the ability for players to set the difficulty to settings that they feel they wish to play with. Of course the other roguelike modes will still exist and have received updates as well.
The main story for the roguelike mode has been updated to allow you not only your starting Mython but also an additional choice of a second Mython from a small group of Mython. I've found that starting this game mode with two Mython rather than just one allows for a much nicer experience overall in game flow and I would really like to hear feedback once this update is released on that front. I've done my best to adjust the difficulty levels to a reasonable amount in this mode as well as the Randomly Generated Team mode called Survival Mode so I hope you will look forward to those as much as I am looking forward to feedback on them.
These old modes have also all been updated with the wide variety of new Mython, new Skills, and new Items that have been introduced so you will have a lot more options to mess around with or possibly encounter in a roguelike mode run so I am very excited to see what players think of them all.

Mython Island Patch Update Version 0.1.4
Mython Island has just been updated bringing it to Version 0.1.4!
This patch brings a graphical improvement to the post processing throughout the entire game, improves the flow of skills in battle, and improves overall game optimization. In this post I also will detail some information on a very substantial update coming. Below is more information on the fixes and future content.
What's Changed? - Updated Post Processing to acheive similar style to upcoming Island Adventure mode. - Adjusted battle calculation for better flow of battle. Attack animations and HP/AP reduction will not occur all at the same time from now on. - Improved Optimization - Fixed an error where clicking anywhere would accept certain menu options.
Island Adventure These are the immediate fixes but in the background I am hard at work on a very substantial update for the game. This update will include 25 Brand New Mython to encounter, dozens of new items, dozens of new skills, a Draft Type Mode where you will be able to choose your Team of Mython rather than encounter or receive them randomly, and Island Adventure mode which will include a open map for you to explore Mython Island. This mode will have certain challenges and activities to do so I hope you will please look forward to more information soon. For now here is a short video of a location in the Island Adventure area.

Controller Support Added!
Hello I hope you are having a great Monday! Today I have implemented Controller Support for Mython Island. After downloading the latest patch you will now be able to play the game to completion with either Mouse & Keyboard or now with a Controller.
Thank you for supporting Mython Island, I'm working hard on additional updates that will include more Mython, items, skills, and refinements to survival mode! Please keep providing feedback as I make this game even better for official release!
