N++ Christmas Update!

**There's been a few hotfixes for this one, see the bottom of the list for what they fixed**

'Tis the season for giving, and we're giving you another much-awaited update to N++!

What's changed:
* SteamCloud Support!! Yep, now your save games will be preserved in the cloud and automatically merged with your progress on other machines.
* Added a new rendering pipeline that doesn't use MRT for some machines that had issues with tiles not rendering.
* Added a new option - Submit Level Scores - to let you submit every individual level as a solo highscore when completing an episode.
* Better handling of savegame corruption. The game will refuse to load corrupt savegames and try to open the backup instead.
* Added a --borderless startup option for running the game without window border.
* Fixed the calculation of total scores and a secret challenge: it's actually possible to get 100% in the Profile screen now.
* Added a --audioDriver [n] startup option for selecting a non-default audio driver (check the logs for a list of the available drivers)
* Fixed some post-halloween weirdness with the Halloween colours (note: several colours aren't unlocked by turning off Gamification, you'll have to earn them through secret challenges)
* Limited the maximum simultaneous sounds to reduce the cacophony of many evil ninjas.
* The game wasn't saving headband/ninja colour settings for P2-P4 properly
* Hitting ESC in the main menu takes you to the 'quit' submenu

HOTFIXED:
* Fixed crash in Help menu when some keys are unbound
* Fixed some users experiencing stuttering when saving to Steamcloud
* Level-in-episode scores save locally properly
* Fixed a crash when changing some displays in the Graphics menu
* Fixed grey-screen when running the game on a Retina Mac
* Fixed issues with Next Page/Prev Page keys not working after changing keys
* Fixed a crash on Mac when exiting
* Fixed button bindings in the Editor on Mac
* The first five unlocked colours were getting lost in the list
* Mac users in the beta had some issues with Command/Shift keys not being recognised

The Steam Awards!

MSG from Mare posted on discord:

Hey everyone! Have you heard about The Steam Awards? Nominations are open now, and you can get badges by nominating games:
Steam Award Nominations

If you have a sec, please consider nominating N++ for something! We thought "The “I Thought This Game Was Cool Before It Won An Award” Award " might be appropriate.

-- End msg

What I want to add is this: If we concentrate our votes on the above mentioned selection we hopefully might make a decent chance. Why so? First off all we are great community. And do not forget we did win Fan Choice for best Canadian Game 2015.

Thank you for taking your time reading this and voting!

Bugfixes for Halloween update

Some fixes for the halloween update:

Changelist:
* Fixed framerate issue with headbands
* Fixed weirdness with colours after Halloween colours went away, plus now there's a way to unlock Halloween colours in normal gameplay!
* Sometimes Total Time could be negative in the Profile Menu. Now it isn't.
* Restore progress for people who had lost All-Gold progress after some of the levels changed

Halloween Update

We've been hard at work bringing N++ to Mac over the last little while, but here's an update to bring some new features and fix some issues for the spooky season!

CHANGELIST:
New feature: Headbands!
There's now a selection of headbands you can unlock in the game. You can change headbands in the LSHIFT Colour/Music menu

New feature: Ninja colours!
You can customise the colour of your ninja and headbands in the LSHIFT Colour/Music menu.
Other players can change their colours (when one isn't taken) using their 'suicide' key in the Episode Grid menu, or RB/LB on controllers
There's even some funlockable additional colour options that are very confusing.

New feature: Halloween colours!
There's a couple new colours to play under in the LSHIFT Colour/Music menu. Use them quick, they won't be back until next October!

Bugfixes:
Fixed some audio issues with the chaser drone and dead ninjas
The timers in Profile screen tick correctly now
The Left Stick on a controller can be used to navigate menus now
Sometimes more than 4 players would enter the world. Now they don't
Fixed a whackload of issues with the Editor. Like, a whackload.
Some of the secret challenges in the secret levels have changed

N++ Update 5

This one's mainly a level update, to fix some issues reported by the community

Changelist:
* Changes to several levels to remove enemies, change names etc.
* The 'reset episode' function works again
* The pause menu can be opened when dead (no more restarting the level when what you really wanted to do was ragequit)
* Some changes to try to fix some instances of progress getting corrupted.

We're continuing to try to get the to bottom of some of the reports of corrupted save games. If this has happened to you please add your report and/or save file to the bug tracker at https://acromiongames.assembla.com/spaces/nplusplus/support/tickets

N++ Update 4

After a very busy couple of weeks with Mare and Raigan travelling to Japan and Tatham going and getting married, we're back on the update train!

Here's what's changed:
* Some improvements to error logging for better debugging of some sneaky errors
* Keep the Side Menus open when using up/down keys on them if opened by a mouseover
* Fixed a missing button in the Editor
* Fixed issues and crashes caused by the Timerbar funlocks not saving/loading correctly or displaying in-menu correctly
* Backup the last good savegame as 'nprofile-old' and load it if the main save get corrupted somehow
* Reset Defaults in the Controls Menu works with Keyboard/Controller and not just mouse
* Ignore in-game key bindings if they conflict with the menu controls (for real this time!) and don't clear Editor controls when rebinding in-game keys.
* Able to search again in the Episode Grid after a successful search
* Episode Grid keys are ignored while entering search query
* Can select regions with Controller in the Editor
* Show the corners of the Social/Preferences menu when they're hidden but actually available
* Some palette changes for the Profile screen

Stay tuned, there'll be more fixes next week!

Minor security update

We've been hearing some reports of people playing around with the game DLLs to access some cheats, so this is a minor update to address that. It should also fix the text for the multiplayer login prompts to return them to F2-F4.

This update also supports a --profilePath command line parameter that can be used to override the default profile path (My Documents/Metanet/N++)
Add it to the 'Startup Parameters' for the application in its Properties under Steam like this:
--profilePath="C:\my\preferred\folder\to\store\N++\saves"

N++ Update 2

The second update is here. We're still polishing up the input/editor fixes we've been working on and they'll be ready to release soon, but in the meantime here's a few more changes we've got for you:

* Use the Local App Data folder as a backup if My Documents isn't available (should fix some crashes on startup)
* ignore in-game key bindings if they conflict with the menu binding defaults (Up arrow can safely be bound to jump now)
* removed the vars system which some people were using to cheat levels
* searching for User Levels should be working again (pending a server update)

As always, if you notice any issues please report them at https://acromiongames.assembla.com/spaces/nplusplus/support/tickets and thank you for helping us make N++ better!

N++ Update 1

The first of several updates we'll be doing to address some of the issues that people have reported with N++ has been released and can be downloaded right now.
What's changed:
* Disable StickyKeys while the game is running, to prevent a popup when the default LSHIFT/RSHIFT Colour/Social menu buttons are used
* Fix for occasional crashes when browsing/playing user levels
* Eating unwanted key repeats from SDL, so holding the jump key doesn't send you through all the post-game screens.
* Updated the game controller database, adding support for several third party controllers
* Fix to allow beta users to get all the 'killed' trophies instead of just the highest
* Require pressing START to join the game instead of A when using an XBox controller (this is a preliminary fix for the double-player XBox One controller bug, that should make solo play work as intended)

Thank you to everyone who's reporting or updating bugs over at https://app.assembla.com/spaces/nplusplus/support/tickets
We're working hard to organise and find fixes for all the issues, and have some more surprises for you down the line!

Hotfix for Replay issues

There were some issues with downloading and viewing replays from early players in the game. This patch fixes them.
