Preparing the groundwork for the campaign missions gave many opportunities to optimize and correct the code (or even discover or create new bugs). Most of, if not to say all, enemy animations were "recoded" to avoid possible conflicts at some point. In addition to allowing entry to the lab and browsing the campaign map (now available as a tease factor), analysing this update under the microscope will reveal a bunch of optimization and tweaks.
So without further delay, let's get the details out a bit.
Version 1.39:
Tweaks section:
Added dynamic eye animations to the characters in the scenes.
Reworked the start menu, and other sub menu buttons with a new holographic design to align with the coming campaign style.
Reworked the player labels in game to be clearer.
Reworked the game tutorial by adding frames into presented sections. Also adjusted a message concerning the score penalty if an enemy flees the level.
Explosions from liquid-pocketed projectiles are brighter.
Bonus salty and sugary crystals captured in the bloodstream have new and distinct sounds.
Point values were adjusted for some special enemies appearing in the game play.
Optimize audio to avoid overlapping in some conditions.
Reworked all enemy animations to avoid possible conflicting process.
The weaker Botulinum bacteria (mothers) will not leave the area anymore in the 4th challenge level (Botulinum nest).
Reduced the energy cost of electric discharge and adjusted upward by 20% for each additional unlock of the same type (Bait, sonic mine or electrical discharge).
White blood cells will get blurry if hit by the nanobot instrumental weapons.
Bug squish section:
Using the pause menu to return to the main menu during a challenge level could make the game hang and crash or avoid the challenge level.
Using the cancel button on the option scene caused the game to stop.
Salmonella bacteria reaching the artery exit could also cause a game crash.
A 2 players game could also cause a crash if either nanobot was out of service and reached the artery exit from the bloodstream while Salmonella bacteria was present in the level.
New Stuff section:
The campaign map is available for browsing (not playable), maybe you can find an anticipation surprise there somewhere :)
A new RED Label penalty can be witnessed at the organism health and player score labels if any enemy flees from the level. A specific sound and message will also be appearing.
A new label (keeping count of fled enemies) may appear in the 1st and 2nd challenge levels if an enemy has left the area.
This sums it up for now.
Thank you for protecting the organism with your nanobot. I wish you a lot of fun :)
Update 1.38
Hello everyone,
A small temporary theme is present for this time of year and this one can bring its share of thematic treats in the gameplay. Enjoy!
Version 1.38:
Tweaks section: 1-The player is offered to enter the tutorial scene when starting a new game, but it is not mandatory and the player can choose differently. Some visible adjustments were added to help the player choose from the available options.
2-The score, statistics and number of hormones captured during the tutorial are now reset.
Bug squish section: 1-The Covid-19 virus did not trigger correctly the visual damage to red blood cells.
2-Dr.Brump's presentation may appear abruptly during a game.
3-The Pallidum bacteria leaving via the artery exit may cause a miscalculation of bacteria left in the game.
New Stuff section: 1-The tutorial scene gets an image of Dr.Brump while he communicates his presentation to the player.
This sums it up for now. Thank you for protecting the organism with your nanobot. I wish you a lot of fun :)
Update 1.37
Hello everyone,
Thank you for your patience concerning the delay in updates lately. I worked hard on many fronts to prepare the future updates. Naturally the campaign work began as well as some competitive game modes, graphics development, some coding and design activities.
Regarding the creation of content for the campaign, the whole adventure should revolve around 50 missions. This number is not final, but ideas and development are now targeted towards this goal.
A short summary video should appear during the next few weeks to show you the work accomplished.
But for now, let's savor the details of this update.
Version 1.37:
Tweaks section: 1- Some labels were changed in the option scene to accommodate a section for the new control mode.
2- Also the information bubbles concerning the COVID-19 virus or other organic enemies now specify a better scoring when these are activated.
3- Changed the order of the explanations in the tutorial.
Bug squish section: 1-Initiating "pause" mode could cause a crash in the tutorial. This bug is now fixed.
New stuff section: 1- Surely now you can play the game with the mouse. Controlling the Nanobot with this tool was tricky, but I am now satisfied with the result. A degree of precision will be necessary in the adventures of the campaign and I wanted the possibility of using the mouse to be present (especially if you do not have a gamepad). By reaching the option scene and enabling or disabling mouse control you will be able to take advantage of this controller for player 1. Please take note, that enabling mouse aiming will dominate control priorities for the game.
2- Added more generic Halloween items to some game menus for a seasonal wink has been updated.
This sums it up for now.
As always, I thank you for your support and enjoy the game :)

Update 1.36
Hello everyone,
This small update is mainly to squish annoying bugs and implement a requested feature before releasing a bigger update.
Tweaks section: -The electrical discharge and the ultraviolet wave are both more precise. -Corrected the text display during game to be queued if (by luck or bad luck) many events or actions trigger multiple messages. -With this queued text display, some messages were rewritten for optimization.
Bug squish section: -I fixed "again" the attracted Tetani bacteria by a nano bait even though it was defeated or dead. -Player 2 energy bar was not diminishing with usage. -Player 2 could not deliver genetic or vaccine component to a whitecell.
New Stuff section: -A new blinking light is now part of each nanobot. This requested feature will make it easier for players to identify their Nanobot in the fray.
This sums it up for now.
As always, I thank you for protecting the organism with your nanobot and I wish you a lot of fun :)
Update 1.35
Hello everyone
Finally the update 1.35 is available.
The main direction of the current game mode is to get a fun and replayable arcade game that can be enjoyed by learning some fun facts about the world of microorganisms and the immune system. There will be a few more updates for this game mode, and then I'll get into campaign development.
The development framework, design and future programming periods will reduce the frequency of updates. However, this development will bring more significant updates for the future, and during that time you will have a robust arcade game to enjoy.
At the moment, adding three new enemies with their own design, mechanics, strengths and weaknesses and implementing them in the game required a lot more development than expected. But the results are very positive.
Before I move on to the technical notes, I would like to welcome the new nano pilots, but most importantly, I want to thank you for your interest in the game. It is really appreciated.
Here are the technical details of this update.
Version 1.35:
Tweaks section: Antibiotics and subsonic mines damage were adjusted to be more effective. New particles effects were added to the vitamins and vaccine components. Adjusted the cost of electric discharge to be less demanding. Adjusted the speedy nano bullets to not exit via the artery. Adjusted the white blood cell angle of attack and skipping animation when moving toward a target.
Bug squish section: Corrected the animation of the white blood cell receiving genetic or vaccine code while it was out of service. Corrected the delivery of genetic material to the white blood cell not being accounted for. Corrected the Pallidum bacteria not leaving correctly if using artery exit. Corrected the basic math method which was randomly giving a false number of bacteria left in the scene.
New Stuff section: Salmonella bacteria, Escherichia coli (E.coli) and the Flu virus (Influenza) may appear after reaching level 5. All enemy types (Tetani, Salmonella, E.coli, et virus influenza) will permanently constitute the 15th level and beyond. A new challenge by reaching the 20th level presenting a new strain of Salmonella is available. New fun facts concerning the new Salmonella, E.coli, and Influenza virus are also implemented in the game.
This sums it up for now.
Thank you for protecting the organism with your nanobot. I wish you a lot of fun :)

Update 1.34
Hello everyone,
5 controller profiles for all, and in the organism ... take advantage of it :)
But first, let's enjoy this time of year that I couldn't pass up without hanging some decorations.
As usual, this temporary little theme will be in the gameplay with the possibility of discovering some specific sugar candies as well as a themed music party.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Version 1.34 also brings its level of changes and optimizations as well as some new stuff.
Without further delay, lets unwrap this update and enjoy the details.
Version 1.34 recap video: [previewyoutube="yU5TvjJj7MQ;full"]
Tweaks section:
To correctly represent the vaccine, it was important to gain a certain level of detection for the immune system. The vaccine will now grant the usual reaction bonus (ADV) to the immune system, but will also grant a detection toward one of the special enemies in the detection matrix (KCMB).
The completed vaccine delivery to a white cell will now display the information more clearly to the player.
The calculated damage to the organism from the special enemies has been modified and the table below represents the various dangers (or damage) respectively by type.
Klebsiella minor = 10 Mutation = 15 Pallidum = 20 Klebsiella major = 25 Botulinum = 30
The navigation in various menu scene (while using a gamepad) can now be done with the d-pad or left joystick.
Bug squish section:
The pause menu navigation did not function well (again) while the player was in the revised control section.
New Stuff section:
Predetermined profiles for the gamepad controls are now available in the option scene. Those profiles can apply to each player and will remain as the default control scheme for each.
The Pallidum bacteria make its appearance as a special enemy. This evading, small and fast bacteria will be fun to tackle in the game.
A new fun fact info concerning the Pallidum bacteria is also present and may appear before your score page.
This sums it up for now.
I take the opportunity to wish you a happy holiday season and a new year 2022 filled with health, generosity and kindness.
Thank you for protecting the organism with your nanobot. I wish you a lot of fun :)
Update 1.33

Working with the organism's immune system is not always tangible, but this little update will clearly confirm your aid. With some optimizations and bug squishes, your next game is going to be awesome.
So lets dive into the details.
Version 1.33:
Tweaks section:
-The hormone releasing glands are now darker and smaller when emptied.
-The upgrade scene has a blinking square for navigation.
-The tutorial scene will now wait for the "accept" button to move on to next step.
-The tutorial also has a new section explaining the immune system information at the lower right corner of the screen.
-The spawning of the white blood cells has been reduced for balance in gameplay.
-The instruction scene also has a short section for the vaccine and genetic material.
-Some of the first "fun facts" information scenes were modified to add a foot note relevant to the game NA.NO.
