NCradle

Launched!

NCradle has launched and is available for download!

It's been a lot of work, but we're glad to have seen the development of our first Steam game through.

We've got big plans for both NCradle and future titles, so if you like the game, or want to know more, you can always follow game updates at https://twitter.com/GamesPortcullis

Updated released date: March 1st

As we said in the previous announcement, a delay was likely going to happen.

On the bright side we've kept the time to a minimum and now have a guaranteed, free and clear, bona fide release date of March 1st next week!

For the Windows users, we hope you'll check out the game come Thursday. We're mega excited for you guys to give it a run.

That being said...

The issues reviewing the Linux version means that version likely won't be available at launch. We're working with Steam to get the review issues worked out, but the delays introduced each time the game is submitted would have pushed the delay a bit too long. We had to split it so we could at least get the Windows version approved.

For reference the game was developed entirely on Arch and Debian Linux. Review issues aside the game runs fine and integrates with Steam same as the Windows version.

For the Linux users, we're working on it. We're big OSS guys and plan to release the NCradle source code GPL bit by bit over the next year. So it's a real bummer we can't get it to you guys on Steam at launch.

Delays

We've been working hard to get the final coat of polish on the game before release.

The good news is the game is finished!

The bad news is it will almost certainly be delayed. We had planed a bit of extra time to have the game go through Steam's review process. Unfortunately there seemed to be an issue testing the Linux version.

The fix was some extra communication about the file setup for the game. Unfortunately the process has taken the 2 day review process up to 8 currently, and it's still not completed.

We're working to figure out exactly when we'll be able to release it. Hopefully just a 1 week delay, maybe 2 if we're really unlucky.

Things happen, and this is our first Steam release so it's a learning experience on our side as well.

We apologize for the delay, and we'll be sure to post an update the moment we get out of review.

February 22nd, 2018

Earlier this week we set a release date!

Then a really important hard drive died. Thankfully we've been pretty meticulous about backups, so no data loss. Our main dev machine was out of production for a day or two while we waited for a replacement drive though.

We're fairly confident we can still hit our Feb 22nd goal. We'll have to shift the schedule around a tiny bit, but we can make it work.

We wanted to release the first gameplay teaser trailer with this announcement, however under the circumstances that will be a bit delayed.

Look for the teaser trailer later this week, then it's the last sprint towards finishing the game!

Linguas

Hello, Hola, Olá, Bonjour, Приве́т

The game's interface has been translated! If your locale is set for Spanish, French, Portuguese, or Russian the translations should be showing in the store images.

The translations may not be 110% correct at the moment, but they're close, and will be finalized before release. We just couldn't wait to announce that the game will be localized for the above languages.

The store page should be translated after the content is finalized for it as well.

And We're Live!

Seeing this page certainly makes us excited, maybe a bit nauseous as well when we think of how much work there is left to do.

In any case expect a fair amount of retooling of this store page now that it's live.

The biggest update to look forward to will be the gameplay trailer release roughly a week from now!
